Who is the best current professional golfer from your state?
Jason Jarrett replied to Jason Jarrett's topic in General Q&A
I was born in Kentucky. Still bleed blue through and through. Russ Cochran and Kenny Perry were two of my faves when I was younger. -
Tell me your Top 10 courses played!
Jason Jarrett replied to mr.hicksta's topic in Golf Courses & Travel
I can't come up with 10. If I did, you would have never heard of 8 of them probably. The best course I ever played was Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, MN. Was fortunate to play there one summer back in the mid 90s. Beautiful day. Lovely walk. Shot 81 I think. Was great to see it on TV for the Ryder Cup a few years back. Next in line would be Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, MS. Played here a few times in a fundraising scramble. Got to caddy there once for the US Women's Amateur. Beautiful place. Others are the Robert Trent Jones Trail in Alabama. All are great courses for a good price. -
Best consequence of the The Masters being delayed until November
Jason Jarrett replied to Titleist87's topic in Tour Talk
I wonder if the course will look different, especially the grass. I guess November is a cool season and the overseeding will look as good as it does in April. -
Done. Hope the results are good for you.

Yeah, I think my carpet would be about a 5. I wonder what a good slick concrete slab rolls?!

Re-gripping at home... 1st time
Jason Jarrett replied to zbdubs's topic in Club Making/Repair & DIY Projects
Yes vote on the hook knife. I've done several sets of irons in my days, and it's easy to do with only a few tools. Having said that, as far as building up your lower hand, I think either option you mentioned in your original post is sufficient.- 17 replies

@Jason24 My best solution for buying clubs on a tighter budget is through eBay. I was looking at the newer TM drivers, but the money invested in those is quite a lot. I went back to Youtube and watched reviews of the R15 drivers and looked at some of the numbers compared to current ones and didn't find that much difference. So, I opted to buy a R15 head (brand new) on eBay for like $40-50. Now, the shaft was a different story. I like the 60-65 gram weight in my driver, so I thought "Why not buy a Fuji Speeder?" Absolutely zero statistical evidence on which one I should buy. I have always played a Stiff, but I got a Regular in the Speeder Evolution III 661, and it feels great. However, my ball flight is too low. Going back to a previous post in this thread, the only fitted club I've hit was a driver, and it was incredible. (and not a major brand - Wishon Golf) @jkpigott I like the gently used and previous year versions a lot. The JPX 850s are great so far. I was hitting a set of Callaway Razr X Tour cast before. Strong lofts too, but just didn't do it for me.

@Jason24 For me, cost has always been a factor as we are a one-income family of five. The only club I've ever been fitted for was a driver back in 2011 - Wishon 915 CFE. The absolute best club I've ever owned. Felt extreme confidence in it every time I pulled it from the bag. I got rid of it last year b/c I felt like the head was weak. (Ball speed didn't seem to measure up with my swing speed.) I've been thinking about getting fit this year for the whole bag, but just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I'm wondering who the best current professional golfer from your state is. I live in Tennessee, so my vote is going to be Brandt Snedeker, winner of the 2012 FedEx Cup and a member of the Mr. 59 club, which he shot in 2018 at the Wyndham Championshp. What state do you live in, and who is the best current professional golfer from there?
