-1 today. Incredibly hot and dry made around the greens very difficult. drove very well, ironed exceptional, putted… defensively. Now need to piece together a similar round tomorrow to be in with a shout.

Low, light, potato, aubergine. basically yeah I have an old McGregor wedge that is D2 and my wife loves it but hates every other wedge on the planet. Now these wedges are dead spin wise and it’s time to renew but I can’t find any off the shelf items that are D2. She plays twice a month? Roughly so custom is at best… wasted.

Morning all, does anyone know of any of the shelve wedges that are lower swing weights?

Got 3 hours sleep last night with Baby doing bay things. subsequently played like absolute ass so gave up on the scorecard, accepted my medal entry fee as a donation and went fun shot hunting. Had 3 birdies, an eagle on a par 4, two 9s on a par 4s and three doubles. Drive the green on a blind downhill dogleg over water to here, will be honest… not doing it again.

Just focus on strike, and swing thoughts. striking down and through for me with the correct tiempo, nothing more.

Putting. Inside. Hitting centre of putter, no real sim just set up practice and hitting middle of the face. keep it simple stupid. Best way I think.

5 wood is the best club over bought. 250 stops on greens no problem. Weapon off the tee at 270 and just heavenly in general.

Back to practice green today. 40 yards out, trying to work on dispersion, left some to be desired yesterday and I had 5 approaches at 40 yards. so far hit 80 balls and not any better haha.

Not to be that guy but… Gross +1 with a double and triple. The rough is really punishing and lost two balls. did this on 17 chasing a score and now think I should try take the corner on more often.

Tbh I played crap. BUT my mate had the round of his life and shot his best ever by 5 and honestly that probably felt better than a good round for myself. Was great to see.

Stableford today. Played super super aggressive with a fellow 1 handicapper and between us managed 11 birdies and 3 eagles. Still 5 points back off the leader dont think I’ll bother with Comps or medals any longer unless it’s scratch or a low handicap bracket. also started slicing driver and pulling 5 woods after 10 holes. Bit strange will head to a launch monitor try figure out why.

100 wedge shots between 20 and 70 yards. high, low, fade, draw, checkers rollers. All to a set target.

Yeah I’ve not had any luck with them beside a 2016 M2.

Spider X I change putter maybe 3 times a year after I feel a bit meh with one. First one I’ve picked up and loved straight away, colours, line and face interaction is verrrrey good.

Quick 9 this morning with a friend who’s improving a great deal was a 20 handicap and trending about a 12/13 now great to see. anyway I was -3 through nine and I feel tremendous currently. Might need to start comparing to people better than me for SG now.

Alternate shot match play today in the typical Scottish drizzle. both played incredible and would have been about 3/4 under scratch. Don’t think I’ve played as well ever especially in the format. Changed ball to Srixon Z Star XV and think I’ve found a winner. What a ball.
