The Edison Challenge: Featuring Edison 2.0 Wedges

Our picks for Most Wanted Wedges were just released and it just so happens we have one of the contestants in line for member testing!  We are very excited to be looking for four testers to test, review, compare and keep two Edison 2.0 wedges.

Edison makes some bold claims with their Edison 2.0 wedge, claiming the “Koehler Sole” is the most versatile sole in the category offering a “high bounce angle in the front of the sole with a low bounce angle on the rear portion.”  They also claim to be forgiving and better suited to the amateur golfer.  “Instead of catering to the needs of tour pros, the EDISON 2.0 wedges were designed around the way you play the game. They have the most efficient distribution of clubhead mass in the category to deliver unmatched distance control and forgiveness for any level golfer – with added spin and more penetrating trajectories a likely bonus.”

Bottom line: Edison feels their wedges “deliver more forgiveness, improved distance control and enhanced spin, all without compromising precision, feel, or versatility.”

We want you to put these claims to the test to let us know how these wedges not only perform over the testing period but also how they perform against your current wedges.  The Edison 2.0 wedges are offered in lofts from 45 to 60 degrees with the option to have the lie angle adjusted to best fit your swing. Edison offers two premium shafts as stock options, KBS Tour steel shafts (110R and 120S) and KBS PGI graphite shafts (70,80, and 90). The Lamkin Crossline in standard or midsize is their stock grip.

We are looking for 4 testers to test out the Edison 2.0 wedges!

This test is open to US Residents and is Right-Hand Only.

Selected testers will be fit using Edison's Wedgefit form online and will be testing 2 wedges each.

Been playing MG3 this year so really in the market to try some different wedge. As I am always working on the short game loft trajectory roll out and stopping power are all main benefits I would be looking for in my wedge game. Never used these wedges before so would be an experience first hand for someone I would consider a mid handicapper. Hope to get selected thank you

I would love to give these wedges a try. I have completely revamped my chipping and pitching around the greens, and my swing is much more simplified. I do typically prefer a wedge that is cavity back for extra forgiveness. Haven't played a blade wedge in over 4 years.

Would love a chance to test these out. I have never given much more through to my wedges other than to play Vokeys, but always willing to give something a try that would help my game improve!

I would really like to test these wedges as I feel I could do much better in this area of my game.

I currently have a 52 and 56 Callaway Jaws models and they are fine in feel but just do not seem to have the spin I am looking for.

Thank you MGS for offering this.

If you need someone to compare the initial Edison wedges (1.0) to the current version, I can do that.   I've been a satisfied Edison wedge player since early 2021.  I have three Edison wedges, 50, 55 and 60, but the 60 degree wedge is currently out of the bag.   You only should consider me if you and the powers that be want to compare the current version to the previous.  Other than that, others should experience how good these wedges are.

Here is my Wedgefit results:

Your matched set of 3 EDISON 2.0 wedges:
45° loft, KBS PGI 70
49° loft, KBS PGI 70
53° loft, KBS PGI 70

Your matched set of 4 EDISON 2.0 wedges:
45° loft, KBS PGI 70
49° loft, KBS PGI 70
53° loft, KBS PGI 70
57° loft, KBS PGI 70

[NOTE: EDISON 2.0 wedges are engineered to odd-number lofts only, but we can deliver even numbered lofts by weakening the lower number, i.e. a "50" loft will actually have "49" on the bottom, but it has been tweaked to 50.]

Shaft Recommendation: KBS PGI 70
Flex Recommendation: A Flex
Grip Recommendation: Lamkin Crossline 360 Midsize

Length: +.5"    Lie Angle: Standard

Unless there's a good reason why I should change from my existing 50 and 55 degree Edison 1.0 wedges, I'd stay with that.

Excited to see how these turn out! I definitely need to figure out some good, every day wedges. I've heard lots about Volkeys and even Kirkland wedges, I'm intrigued by these Edison wedges though because they seem to cater to the amateur like myself!

I want to sign up for Edison 2.0 Wedge Testing.

I already play with 4 Eidolon wedges, 4 different lofts. Graphite shafts.

Interested to see how the 2.0's compare with my Eidolon Wedges.
