beegee76
I'm about to receive a new vokey oil can and am wondering if anyone has stripped the oil can finish off to get a raw look, or can this even be done? Kor.A.Door
You should repost this thread to the DIY area, someone will likely see it there and have some tips. We have some good club builders here, and lots of others with good knowledge on these things, they probably just haven't seen this. DFSPFD
Etch and Prep (Phosphoric Acid) can be found at home depot and removes the black or copper based finishes in less than two minutes. Coke and Vinegar are not nearly as concentrated acid content and take much longer to strip the finish. Just clean the wedge thoroughly, soak the club head to just below the ferrule for 120 seconds, remove and apply baking soda to neutralize the acid, and it's all done. Be sure to wear gloves/goggles while handling the acid. It can be reused as well. Good luck.
