My 5 and 6 iron are the 790’s, although I shelved the 5 iron in favor of the 9 wood. I’m surprised that there aren’t more p770 users. It’s such a sweet club…

2 sets I still have today, will never sell, both need re-shafting down to my current swing speed, R7TP & R9TP, I'm past my CC days, if I foray into a tourney that requires CC, I have post 2010 irons on hand, also need re-shafting.

I still use r7 TP’s … ripper irons. Wish I had the 2 iron

Recently, I purchased my first set of TaylorMade irons (Stealth), and I'm not saying they are the best irons TaylorMade has ever made (though they are eye opening... see my unofficial review in that thread), I believe that distinction belongs to the P790 - they stand at the top of the heap as far as changing the landscape of club manufacturing for all companies.

This past fall, I also bought a set of Stealth irons as my first TaylorMade set and I love them. In the past I played Ping Eye2s, Callaway Big Berthas, Callaway X Tours and Callaway Apex 19s. The Eye 2s will always hold a special place as my first set of quality irons and, when you could square them up, the way that I could work the ball with the Apex 19s was unlike any other irons I’ve used. However, the Stealth irons are my all time favorites. Most importantly, the forgiveness on miss-hits with the Stealths is incredible. Yeah, I know they are game improvement irons and that’s what they are supposed to do, but I love that they are so forgiving. Also, I can hit the Stealths much further. Yes, I know the lofts are more jacked, but I can carry a clean strike with the stealth 8 iron (32 degree loft) farther than I can a clean strike with the Apex 19 7 iron (30.5 degree loft.) The Stealths have made me a TaylorMade believer and, when I retire these, I’m definitely going to give the P-790s a look.
