SS has replaced my watchband for that exact reason. They asked me to try a couple of tests, and then shipped out the replacement. The usual great customer service. I would suggest contacting their support to get the ball rolling.

I got the same offer directly from SS being a current user (V3). Interestingly, it has nav buttons around the watch instead of the touch screen. I'm not going to like, I'm glad I didn't upgrade to the X5 and stuck with my V3 given some of the reports I've read here. Curious if the button navigation on this V5 might help with some of the recurring issues the X5 has had. I'll still be waiting and seeing. Still love SS though.

Congrats testers !!! Interested to hear how these do and if anyone is able to directly compare them to previous models as I was hoping to, LOL !!! I like my Speed Fire's, and they are extremely stable. If the new generation is truly as good and lighter, that would be awesome, and I'll be purchasing a pair. Really wish there was a brown color way of some sort tho.

I ordered all Tour Star 360 in red, white, and one blue. I only ordered different colors to more or less match the shafts. I've only installed the blue one at this point, so I don't really have a lot of feedback to provide at this time. To be fully transparent, I don't really know what I like in grips, at least not yet. I've always just used what came on them until recently. I ordered this style only because I put a MCC plus 4 on my driver last year and like the shape of it, not necessarily the cord feeling though. I had a CP2 grip on it previously, but thought it was too soft and squishy. I have a 3 wood with the wrap style Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2G that I've always liked. I will say the Tour Star doesn't feel anything like the 2G to me. The 2G ridges are much more pronounced and you can really feel it. The best way I can describe the Tour Star is "smoothish". Don't get me wrong, it seems fairly tacky and I haven't felt my hand slip or twist (nor the grip either), there just doesn't seem to be much if any texture to it, if that make sense. I need to give it a little more use and time, but I'm kind of wondering if I shouldn't have ordered the sidewinder for the texture, and simply built them up to match the plus 4 shape. My other clubs have always come with the "standard" grips, like Tour Velvet or Crossline 360. I prefer a standard size. Even as I write this I don't know what I want. I can say I do not want a jumbo or squishy grip. Guess I'll have to keep tinkering, lol !

I ordered enough Star grips to get the free air gun and did it with the air compressor. I bought a used driver online and it came with a gigantic Jumbo Max grip on it. Very different than anything I had ever seen. I was very anxious to test out the driver with a "normal" ish grip on it, so I removed the Jumbo Max grip as quickly as possible, did not remove any tape, threw on a couple wraps near the bottom of masking tape, and blew the grip on easily. One session at the range with no perceived issues, other than my swing. Need some more time for a more complete impression, but early indication is I like it. Honestly, I did it poorly and am going to redo it, because I only had a few minutes. Tape job is too long and sticking out (old grip was longer). Just really, really wanted to get that club to the range ! That's the beauty of these grips! I suspected that it should be easy to install, and just as easy to take off and reinstall if I needed to, so I didn't worry about how well I did it. No pressure for a newbie, and no pressure to get it exactly right.

Loving this thread !! Great info from all of the testers and other contributors. I was hoping to be one of the chosen, as I need new grips, but since I wasn't, I went ahead and ordered to try them out. Based on what I've read so far, glad I have. Only installed one to test out a different driver, but I like the initial impressons. Never re-gripped a club before, but it was very easy.

I use the V3 and switched to manual putting fairly early on, and have never looked back. Manual mode eliminates all of the issues related to the tag, more accurately, having to move or secure it between different putters and/or grips. Simply update your bag and done. If you truly cannot use manual putt mode with the Connex, that is a bit disappointing for those users. This will be my 3rd year using it, and I've had 2 of the sensors break all ready this year. One I discovered cleaning my clubs and is lost, the other when I tried to remove it and the peg just twisted off. SS is sending replacements and assures me there is no reason to be concerned about any of the other tags, but I guess we'll see.

As much has it has been mentioned, I'm not really sure I can say Wilson again, but their new Dynapower Forged irons are so sweet, I'm going to anyway. Tried them at a demo day and am still pining for them. Shout out to their new AI fit system too. If I see a lot of Wilson on the courses this season, I'll come back and edit this post, but doubt I'll have to worry about it. Quite a few mentions of the Cobra woods, but if I didn't love my Evenroll putter so much, I'd be looking to pick up one of those 3D putters in a heartbeat. If/ when the stroke goes cold later, you may see me stalking them again. Last but not least, I love the Oncore Elixr balls! Really you could probably mention any DTC ball brand, so much better value for almost/exactly the same playability as the big name balls for almost everyone out there. But if I had to play a "top end" ball, it would be a Srixon.

Nearly every club in my bag is from Rock Bottom Golf, or Global Golf, and most of them were purchased used. I like that you are able to trade in clubs, but it does come with limitations, in that you get the higher value as store credit, but then you are limited to their inventory. There is a lot of used inventory, but it comes and goes, and you do need to know what you are looking for. Really enjoyed that this article was part of the newsletter, however, do we really want more golfers in on our secret? It's getting harder and harder to find quality used equipment out in the real world for yourself or trade value. I for one, will not be sharing any further secrets !

Seems like you lefties have hijacked my thread ! TOTALLY KIDDING !! I'm actually a lefty also, but golf right handed. Natural progression from baseball, and more so a two handed backhand in tennis. I empathize with you all !

I actually just stumbled upon this earlier this week and found it fascinating. So much so I am wishing every shaft had this listed on it. Shafts are so damn mysterious and even when you look up the "chart" on it, it tells you very little. In truth, you never really know until you swing one. Since there is no shaft standardization scale, this might be a step in the right direction to help in that regard.

Like almost everyone has said, if you have a solid idea what you are looking for, go for it. Most of my current and past clubs have been previous models or used clubs. I've bought several used clubs from Global Golf and Rock Bottom Golf that the clubs looked in better condition than described in my opinion. There are other reputable used club sites out there as well. Most of them offer the ability to trade in clubs also, which is another way to offset any new costs for clubs you are getting. Another thing I haven't seen mentioned that I want to add. MUCH OF THE USED and PREVIOUS MODEL EQUIPMENT will have a return window where you can try it out for a certain period of time, and if it isn't right for you, you send it back and you're just out the shipping cost. For example, I recently purchased a "like new" Cobra LTDx LS driver at a great price, but turned out the shaft was not the fit I had hoped for. I had paid for it with existing credit from previous trades, and was just out the $10 prepaid shipping lable to return it. Just be careful with this so you don't miss the return window. It can vary quite a bit and not all items are part of it, so be thorough before you order it.
