the way i understand it, i don’t think the shooter had any association with the country club.

the truck was stolen from one of the people found dead in the back and the shooter got it stuck when he tried driving across the course.

Gene Siller went out to 18 green to see why there was a truck parked there. just tragic wrong place wrong time for him.

Innocent people who were killed are a tragic victim of Gun culture, very sad, happens far too often (once is to much). Not like this in Finland etc who also have big gun culture.

  2. Bobby Jones was ridiculously amazing. Obviously, he was a phenomenal golfer, in 1930 winning the original Grand Slam of championships (US Open, British Open, US Amateur, and British Amateur) at the age of 28. After retiring, he co-founded Augusta National, The Masters, and earned degrees from Georgia Tech (Mechanical Engineering) and Harvard (English).

Did I mention he was also an infantry captain on the shores of Normandy in WWII?

  3. Yes NFL has big audience but she has 3-4 million followers, most guys would rather watch a fox like Paige than an old deflated baller plus young woman like fashion so they would watch Paige.

Can't be first and grow a sport with out trying new innovative thing, plus it needs to promote mens and womans golf together. Phil gets hardcore golfers and the older crowd, Paige the younger crowd.

    Poster girl next door.

I played early this morning in Galveston, TX and the mosquitos really killed the mood. We were in such a hurry to get through the round I didn't get many good shots of the maiden voyage with my new Cobra sticks. However, one mosquito did land on my ball just before I hit and this was the end result:

I'll clean up some video and add some shots/round summary with the arccos.

The wedges around the greens were the biggest surprise of the day. Just amazing feel and excellent spin control, even in the wet conditions.

    Nice looking clubs.

  5. She did and still could raise the profile of golf and expand its popularity, really like her trick shots and folksy personality.

Top amateur in University but not so on the tour. I think it would bring in more men and women, make golf more current instead of dull and drab old fuddy duddys.

Paige should be in the next Match set up instead of using NFLers (who cares about them), she would be great with Phil way more people would watch both men and women. Certainly bring in the younger crowd and more sponsors and fashion companies.

  6. So in your opinion what is:

    1. Your favourite Major?

    2. North Americans favourite Major?

    3. The world's favourite Major?

    4. Least liked Major?

    5. Why?

For me #1 & 2 is the Masters because it is so majestic and great course to watch on TV and play (Would really like to).

#3 is likely the Open as it is the oldest, best known and in the home of golf.

#4 US Open, stupid green set up where putts roll off or never go on (Remember Phil?)

Personally I'm a Phil fan and really like seeing him at the big events - even if for only rounds 1 & 2.  I suppose he simply feels that the special invitation/exemption unfairly keeps another, more deserving, player from his place in the field. Perhaps it is pride.  Still among the top 100 ranked golfers and has both game and experience for these venues... thoughts?

Without Phil things might get a bit boring... like a box of chocolates, ya never know what you're going to get 😆.

Great video. Reason why people like me hate teh US Open it is stupid how they set up the greens, JMO.

Its probably good from a money standpoint but its bad in the presceident that it sets for the future.  How many washed-up tour pros who arent old enough to qualify for the Champions Tour are now going to take up sports on the KFT whenever they want, taking spots away from young players who need time on the KFT to hone their skills and gain experience and try to get the tour card?

IMO, it would be much like if you had an aging, HOF baseball player who wasnt really good enough to play in the majors anymore but didnt want to hang it up, so they played in the minors.  Lets say then, that lots of lots of washed-up players who werent good enough to play in the majors just decided to stick it out in the minors.  How would that effect younger players and their development?

Even still, its just kind of a jerk move on Vijay's part.

Richard Bland, perfect example of why it should be done. Wish he wold have won the US Open.

  9. Bobby Jones.

Amateur status but only one who won all Majors in one year, the real Grand Slam not what they call it now, simply just winning all of them in your lifetime.

He did with clubs, balls and clothing that are so under performing than now.

    True GOAT.

"An individual’s value will be based not just on on-course performance but rather an Impact Score, which will be determined using six metrics: a player’s position on the FedExCup points list; a player’s popularity in Google Search; a player’s Nielsen Brand Exposure rating; a player’s Q Rating (appeal); a player’s MVP Index rating (engagement on social and digital channels); and a player’s Meltwater Mentions (frequency he generates coverage across media platforms)."

Call me a Dud, Ole Fart, etc., but I don't do social media. Never have and never will, that's one of the tings wrong with our country today. I think this new incentive program is a crock of crap. Play the game of golf, whomever shoots the lowest score wins and divide the money based on how the field finishes.

I feel certain others are going to disagree, but to each his own.

I wish the LPGA had this, bring back Paige Spiranac and the dress code she and many other lady golfers wore.
