Put another way... Are you playing golf or playing scorecard? Just play golf.

Ohh please the humanity Callaway had their chance with Hogan one time and messed that up. Stripped the company but kept the Iconic Apex name. Turns my stomach every time I see a Callaway shovel marked "Apex". I had a set of Callaway "Apex" shovels in the shop courtesy of my late friend Bear. We traded or something do not know exactly how I got them. A guy I know plays those things. He was wanting a set for his son and called me. I told him I have a set kinda rough as a night in the county jail but he could get them for the right price as in free. Come get them out of my way. He felt bad about that and did give me $50. IMHO they were junk with the XP-95 shafts. Bear as SOP for him had put on a brand new set of Tour Wraps and had that guy not been looking for a set I was going to pull the grips and scrap the irons
Sorry got up on the soapbox this morning but Callaway Apex affects me like that

You know that is funny and you know about the AMF Harleys and I presume you know what AMF in the biker world stands for------- What is funny 3 of my best Harleys were AMF---- 75 Sportster---- 76 FLH and a 81 FLHS----- Those were my best 3 but then again I know guys who had lots of trouble with the AMF era Harleys--- And yes you are correct though they darn near killed HD if not for Willie G and the investors buying it when they did it would have went down the tubes

Never played the Fifty, but played with guys that did. I have played the Cally SS, or Maxfli Softfli, and they are good balls for those struggling to keep it in the fairway. Been trying to play any 3 piece ball, but end up losing them off the tee. So, I play what works, and lately the TF Hammer Control, is doing it for me. Good distance, and all the rest is under "control" with this ball. Look forward to playing with this ball. Have not played well in the past few years, but now, scores are coming down. Does what I need it to do!! Have fun, advance the ball...

After reading the article, IMO, the first kiss of death came when they sold out to AMF. That company seems to have a knack for ruining or almost ruining storied names from the past. They almost completely killed Harley Davidson.

So on the website it is up and running but when you click on any of the drop downs or other fields they go to no where or say sorry not working. That’s not the best sign for the website

Insurance commercials are amusing to me these days mainly between Liberty Mutual . Progressive and Geico. The latest Liberty Mutual ones with the Minions cracks me up. Flo and the Progressive bunch does not do anything but make me wonder about the future of mankind. Now the little Geico lizard I like him have several dozen of his brothers and sisters in and around the property including the shop. The one in the shop is darn near tame sits on the top shelf and watches me work. Of course I am sure he knows I would not do anything to hurt him

And if you ask some people what brand over the years has won more majors they would say Callaway or TM etc. Even a confirmed etched Macgregor man knows and admits the answer is Wilson🙄

Where are all the players of 2 piece balls? Gotta be more than what has already posted? Lets keep this thread going! I am not embarrassed to say I play a non-tour ball. It's just where my game is at right now. I have tried to play "better" balls. Did not work out. I can't keep them in the fairway. I will possibly revisit some of the balls to try again at a later date, as they update them from time to time. My game could possibly dictate that I need to do that, at that time. Right now, I am having a blast with the 2 piece ball I am playing right now.. Anybody else??

Which SmartCore? I really liked the spin version, I think it was the green box.
i think lower spin balls are more predictable if less precise on chip shots. To quote a very famous teacher when asked by a golfer if he could teach him to get more backspin, “ do you usually fly the ball past the hole”? No. Then why do you want backspin?

Try the Wilson Duo or Fifty Fifty Elite especially the yellow urethane cover or start hitting a 3 wood off the tee you may loose a little distance but make up for it with more shots in play.
