  1. Good Mornin Y'all- HAPPY HUMPDAY- things might actually be a little quiet finally on campus since the kids are gone and things have slowed down- but the faculty/staff still have to spend their budget money so they don't get dinged in the next fiscal year- ah yes- job security at its finest. Donated some clubs to the local First Tee so that someone else might get some use out of them. Hope y'all have a great day and Fairways and Greens for EVERYBODY
  2. Good Mornin Y'all- Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday. It's another fun-filled thrilling day at the fantasy factory!!!!! Had a great time yesterday at the Tournament. Not sure where we placed yet- but a good time was had by all. The greens were like counter tops with all kinds of wicked breaks. I think I broke even in the lost/found balls department- it was close either way. At least it gives me the opportunity to try different ones without having to buy them. We ended up at -3. Probably near the bottom of the 2nd flight, but that's ok. Looks like I MIGHT'VE found something that resembles a swing somewhere (kinda felt like Rannulph Junuh for a while) on the back 9. Guess I'll work on that. Hope y'all have a great day with lots of birdie and eagle hunting. Fairways and greens for EVERYONE!!!!!! As a side thought: I hit a Callaway Chrome Soft X and a Titleist Tour Soft (both were brand new out of the box) in a side by side comparison off the tee. Both were hit similarly well. The Callaway went maybe 1 yard farther with what appeared to be a little less spin( in the FWIW department)
  3. Good Mornin Y'all- Isn't it a WONDERFUL Monday morning- I went out and TRIED to hit some balls over the weekend.= After having not swung a club for close to a year, I'm surprised I even made contact- It was just as I suspected, but nowhere near what I was hoping for. I finally got a few nice shots off- then went home and re-watched my "Plane Truth for Golf"(Jim Hardy) and went out in the back yard to recreate what I had watched, with a lot of improvement. Our tournament is today and our tee time is 11:20. Be leaving work after the morning rush and see how it goes. Hope everybody has a wonderful day and nothing but fairways and greens!!!!!!!
  4. @Dcfrench3- are you on the front range or the "good side" of the state(if you don't mind answering)? I used to live in CO for a LONG time
  5. Maybe, not sure I have any ruby red ones though. But Toto got blown away in one of the recent storms that passed through and I haven't seen hide nor hair of him since
  6. GOOOOOOOOOOD FRIDAY MORNIN' to y'all. It's a gorgeous day in NE Kansas. As I drove by the golf course this morning on my way to work , I noticed my car pulling HARD to the off ramp. Its 65* absolutely NO wind and it was so hard to not just give in and play hooky. At least I'm gonna go get some range time after work- gotta get ready for the tournament on Monday. It's been almost a year since I've played/practiced. Hope y'all have a great day- nothin but fairways and greens
  7. I need to find that coffee cup- BADLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. It was my honor and privilege- he is(was) a true gem and one of the most humble/grateful people I've ever met
  9. @ZJeb67- thanks for that- and I couldn't agree more. All gave some and some gave ALL
  10. Good Morning Y'all- Commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day. A long time ago (in a galaxy.........) I had the opportunity to talk to a gentleman wearing a WWII vet hat. I asked what he did and he told me he was a combat medic- he arrived at Normandy on June 7th 1944. I STILL get teary eyes and goosebumps thinking about it. I can't even come close to imagining the complete carnage he saw. He is DEFINITELY a hero in my eyes. He informed me that after they got that straightened up- they joined up w Pattons' group and took a stroll across Europe. That's incredible. Please say a little prayer for all our servicemembers, past and present. On a lighter note, I was hoping to hit some last night but that didn't work out, looks like its gonna rain today- maybe it'll clear up by the time I get off work. Nothing but Fairways and green for y'all that get to play today
  11. Good Mornin Y'all- one more day at the fantasy factory (my story- I can tell it any way I want to). Drove by one of the local golf courses on my way into work (go by it every day), I was so jealous of the people out on the course- nice morning (69*) no wind, we got 1.5" of rain last night- so the greens will be receptive- wishing I was out there with them. That'll be coming soon. Hope y'all have a great day. nothin but fairways and greens
  12. I've seen those clouds before and it NEVER turned into a " oh its so nice today- lets go out and have a picnic" kinda day
  13. Good Mornin Y'all. Finally got some sim time (gonna hit the range sometime soon) and get ready for our first Faculty/Staff tournament of the year. It's on the toughest course of the rota(Colbert Hills)- hechuva way to start the season- it's all down hill from there. Apparently TW had something to do with the planning of the course (his dad is buried not too far away). It's definitely a tough course, but fair- just think of a links course in Kansas(complete with "gentle breezes"). If you miss the fairway- don't bother looking for your ball. It gets sucked up in the fescue and other wonderful things that line the fairways. Hope everyone has an awesome day and nothin but fairways and greens. For those of us not playing- we'll just live vicariously through those that are
  14. So Sorry to hear about your loss- It is indeed a nasty disease. I'm happy that you had nothing but great, strong caring and loving people around you. I'm glad that y'all have the right focus and frame of mind. You'll be in my prayers
  15. GM Y'all- Been a rough week or so- but It's getting better. Had a few issues with my "stump" to the point where I couldn't play in the last Faculty /Staff Tournament, or do any practicing, but I'm thinking its on the mend. Kinda cool when you can leave your leg at your doctors office so they can fix it for ya(I've got a "spare") and it's a "pain free" procedure. Hope y'all have a great day- whatever that entails (hopefully at least SOME golf of some sort). I'm jealous of the ones who get to go play- not to worry though- us working stiffs got this ALL under control
