OldCaddie's Achievements

  1. Wow - That was the original "target lined putter" before L.A.B design. I played a POZ for a bit and still have it. The designer had the concept back in 1975. Surprised it was not a bigger hit.
  2. I am going to be very interested in this. You swing and miss patterns are the same as mine. Been fighting it all year.
  3. Definitely walking. Electric carts killed a lot of caddy programs.
  4. Congrats guys. Really looking forward to hearing what you think. Big fan of MacGregor.
  5. Rory playing like he has something to prove.
  6. Played poorly last night in the league. I had five doubles mostly because or very poor driving and a wee bit of crap luck (ball in a hole in the rough, sand shot that was hit well but caught the back of the green and kept rolling off the green and into the rough). Had two pars that were pure joy and two bogeys for a 47. Oh well!!
  7. Figured I would jump in here as I am new to the forum. I have been playing for over 50 years and never had one but have come close. Caddied for years as a kid and never saw one either. My closest was two years ago during COVID down the Cape (Cod). I was playing with my brothers and hit the pin which had those damn ball removers on the pin because of COVID and bounced a foot away. Was pissed to say the least. Oh well great day of golf with my three brothers.
  8. Been having trouble breaking 90. Twice shot 90 on my two rounds over the weekend. Three doubles on the front and three on the back didn't help. My struggle has been getting off the tee consistently. Have the pulls left which costs me. Chipping was good. Had three tap ins for par. Only one three putt.
  9. So true - Also learned to swear and gamble in the caddie pen but that's for another time. My two brothers and I were also able to get a little stipend to help defray some of the college costs from the Ouimet Caddie Scholarship Fund which was great. Always will be grateful.
  10. We started caddying about the same time and the old part is part age and also meaning former. Best job I ever had!!
  11. Congrats all. Looking forward to thoughts. OldCaddie
  12. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I've been playing golf since IK was 12 (over 50 years) my whole life. Play with a bunch of great guys that have become true friends. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Been following MGS for a few years but just signing up for the forum now. Have made a number of purchases based on their tests and recommendations. Do you already know any other Spies? I don't know any other spies but looking to get to know them on line. Where are you from? What is your home course? My home town is Beverly MA and my home course is Beverly Golf and Tennis. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Worst things is golf season is too short. What do you do for a living? I manage a Software / Analytics Sales team How’d you pick your user name? OldCaddie - Started learning this game as a caddie at Winchester CC and it was the best job I ever had. Learn the game and people
