My favorite is definitely the GrooveIt miniG. Never had a problem with the magnet, it’s actually one of my favorite features. Also like the small size of the brush. And prefer the short nylon bristles as they seem to get the job done without wearing out my club face. I’ve tried a number of other cheap brushes on a lease and had more problems with them getting caught/tangled up in my bag’s stand legs. Wasn’t a fan of the groove cleaning metal pick as it was more likely to gouge my hand or my bag/towel. Also didn’t care for the double sided wire/nylon brush as the wire side also seems to cause my more pain than it did good. I do keep that brush at home when I want to clean up my clubs in the backyard before a round.

2023 Titleist White Box Testing Thread
CK1over replied to GolfSpy_APH's topic in Forum Testing Reviews
Has anyone gone thru a golf ball fitting before and would recommend a type of simulator that provides the best ball data. I know not all spin measurements are created equally. I figure this would be the best way to compare the test ball to my gamer. In the Denver area I have a few places that use Uneekor. Golf Galaxy has Trackman. Not sure what PGA Superstore uses. What's recommended for ball fittings? -
2023 Titleist White Box Testing Thread
CK1over replied to GolfSpy_APH's topic in Forum Testing Reviews
My box arrived yesterday. As a comparison, put the Test ball next to a sleeve of ProV1x I had in my bag as well as the 4 boxes of Maxfli Tour balls I recently picked up thanks to the MSG discount code. Looks like rain in the forecast the next two days, so will have to look to rent a simulator to gather some data points. Sounds like the consensus is the Test ball most closely resembles the AVX. I’ve only had one sleeve of AVX at the beginning of this season and I promptly lost them all in a single round. I’ll have to try hard to not lose these. Looking forward to the testing! -

I can’t wait! This is my first testing opportunity. I’ll be checking the mailbox every 3 hours. Looking forward to testing it head-to-head against the new Maxfli Tour balls I got earlier last month with the MSG discount code. Getting close to the end of the season here in Colorado. Snowed 6” last weekend, and in the 70s this weekend. Hoping to get a round or two in then heading to a simulator. -
I originally missed this e-mail as somehow it got sent to my junk folder. The discount code appears to be working now.

Chipping Technique
CK1over replied to Thisway84's topic in Lessons, Drills, Mental Game, and Fitness Tips
I'm a terrible chipper, so whenever possible, I putt the ball. The results of putting always works out better than trying to chip. Unfortunately there are times that putting is not possible. I've been working at: 1. 56 deg, open face, open stance, weight forward, standing slightly further away. 2. 9 iron bump and run, standing closer... basically trying to putt when you can't use the putter. -

Bingo-Bango-Bongo each hole has 3 points, you can play for $1 per point or whatever you want. Bingo - first one on the green Bango - closest to the hole Bongo - first one in the hole *golfing etiquette matters for this game. So ready-golf is out the window. That's the only downside.

When I saw this, I thought this must be some sort of April Fools prank. Nope, I checked my calendar and everything. It's definitely June.

Date 05/27/2023 Course Name The Ridge at Castle Pines North Gross Score 100 Course Handicap 24 Gross Strokes over/under par 29 Net Score to Par 5 Net Score 76 Net Birdies or better 5 Longest Drive 260 Beautiful course, but presents some difficult/interesting challenges. Definitely was not my best showing for ball striking.

Also, the 2019 Tour and 2019 Tour X have the same compression...
-
I bought a dozen each of the Maxfli Tour and Tour X last season. Still have a sleeve of each left in my bag. Anyone else curious about the drop in the compression from the 2019 models? I wonder what the 2023 Tour X compression is coming in at. Hopefully they do a Ball Lab on the Tour X soon too.

I saw this on the local news this morning and it got me really excited. Being originally from Wisconsin, I know of Sand Valley (although not yet lucky enough to have played there). And I've obviously heard of Bandon Dunes, watching the PGA tour play there on TV. Their next location being right here in the front range of Colorado! That Keiser family certainly knows how to pick a location and turn it into a golf dream. https://www.golfdigest.com/story/rodeo-dunes-golf-colorado-keiser-jim-craig https://www.rodeodunes.com/ Excited for something like this to be located within an hours drive from the house. And SIX courses!?

Colorado National is definitely one of the longest courses that I've played. This early in the season, I'm sure the long grass hasn't had a chance to get too long... off the tees you usually need to be able to carry the ball a fair bit or risk losing a ball. Nice score! That's a tough course for sure.

Date 04/08/2023 Course Name Overland Park GC Gross Score 92 Course Handicap 21 Gross Strokes over/under par 20 Net Score to Par -1 Net Score 71 Net Birdies or better 5 Longest Drive 327 Highlight of my round was chipping in from off the green TWICE (#12 and #15)! I can thank a tail wind, the thin Denver air, and the rock hard fairway for a monster drive on #3. Felt pretty good for the first round of the season.

My buddy just picked up a second-hand (but never-been used...) 2018 Cobra King F8 FULL bag setup. Drive, fairway woods, hybrid, irons, wedges, and even a bag. I'm super jealous after checking it out. He definitely lucked out. I was definitely one of those people who had overlooked Cobra in the past. My respect for Cobra has definitely grown.
