  1. Last nights phone call from my 2nd job (I work part time at a golf course) got me thinking Do you tip valets or other course/clubhouse staff when you play? I usually keep a few singles in my pocket if they help me out in any way, whether it's a parking lot pickup, bag assist, cart pull up service, etc. Usually if I'm working the front areas, any tips I've recieved will go back to the others I work with. If I'm by myself that day, I pass it on the next time I play. (Which is usually right after my shift)
  2. Got a call last night from the scheduling manager asking if i could work today. 2 of the high school aged valets at the course got into in a fight. Apparently they had an agreement to pool the tips and split them at the end of the shift. One did not, leaving the other one a bit angry. Aggressive words turned into raging teen hormones, which led to a brawl at the front of the clubhouse, In front of guests. Needless to say, they are no longer employed. Anyone else ever witnessed or been a part of golf course rage that turned violent?
  3. That's good strategy off the tee. Thanks for letting us little guys feel a bit better!!!
  4. This is how most charity tournaments are handled here...
  5. Morning spies on this I woke up hours earlier than my alarm day Halfway through the on duty weekend , with nothing golf related to report. @GolfSpy_APH it's the family stuff that matters the most. It goes by too quickly. @Indy_Oz positive vibes for recovery! Truly a dream opportunity too good to pass on! Welcome to MGS and the good morning thread @BORDO and @Zach927 @Northern Monkey my condolences to your wallet.
  6. I immediately thought of you calling in The A-Team when I saw that pic of the jeep..
  7. New course I've never played, 1 hour minimum if they have a range open. (Most don't for real early tee times.) Local courses I've played, 30 min to an hour, as I like to practice SOMETHING before a round. Other considerations is who I'm playing with. If I end up in a group, then I like to get to know each other a bit before playing
  8. Love reading these posts! Keep growing ,keep pushing!
  9. Welcome to the site! Definitely tons of info you can find here! Check into the WITB topic, member introductions, and enjoy the multitude of information flowing here!
  10. Monkey- sneaks a club in the gear bag, starts preparing the etch LT- interesting work you're doing, what case is this for? Monkey- trying to rework an old personal case for a friend. If this works, I can do your clubs too.
  11. Late morning start here, but im on duty all weekend (boooo) Had a great time for the charity tournament yesterday (posted in the play thread) @Woodrow72 prayer for your compadre! @sirchunksalot hopefully they purge the lines with an external pump, pull the injectors, etc and do a quality fuel system flush, then install the new pump!!! (Ask me how I know)
  12. Just as the title says.. it's unperfect this game. But im glad you are still gaining confidence and working to get better!
  13. For those that walk, have you found a preference to the single or double strap system?
  14. And get the kit away from the work station...
  15. Good question @Josh Parker Having just played in a benefit tournament yesterday, and not knowing how everyone played from each position, we went all willy nilly after the first hole. I did ask to go last on most of the holes, because I knew i could get it into a fairly decent position in the fairway off the tee if all else failed. Not the longest, but in fairway play. Each of us had some impressive shots, but Noone was consistent enough to pick a playing order of strengths. Now, if it was a club event or league, and you play the same partners frequently, a strategy works for the most part. It's when you get a person that insists their shot needs to be used, even though it's not the best position, that you run into issues IMHO.
  16. So reading through all 4 pages, most carry about a dozen average. Seems to be a good number to have on hand. I'm a bit cautious as well, and some days I will only use 1 or 2 balls, some rounds maybe 6! The last few rounds I've managed to play the same ball. I did lose one to a wild tree branch, but recovered it the next day miraculously.
  17. Db was on fire today! Sank 10 of the 18 putts for a team!
