  1. League play the other day shot 2 over, {my hc}, 4 bogeys, 2 birds, not too bad. Won my match 1 up and my partner tied his match. We're tied for the lead now, first time all year with 4 weeks remaining. Feeling like we are gel"n at the perfect time!
  2. Big storm moved in early in the am today. Forecast is for torrential downpours till tomorrow. Golf outing cancelled this morning, but the email notification went into spam folder. I got on the road early and called my buddy to see where he was, maybe grab a bite to eat, and he says "didn't you see the email!" Oh well, we need the rain here for sure.
  3. Fun night al league tonight. Shot 39, just ok (par is 34), and won my match. My partner won his also, so we moved from T- 6th to T -2nd, (24 teams). Only 6 more weeks remain.
  4. League night tonight! I hope to play as well as last week. I had 9 pars, including a sandy and 2 barkys (hit trees on 10, hit 2 trees on 12). Got to improve on GIR's, hit only 4.
  5. The amount of ball marks is definitely on the rise where I play. It's a big pet peeve of mine too. Your take on this has merit, etiquette is missing in a lot of today's amateurs. I wish the clubs would address players repairing them more than just a poster at a urinal! I'd volunteer to be "ball mark" police for free! REPAIR or LEAVE.
  6. League play last night was encouraging. Hit some good drives, approach shots were better than usual, putting was consistent, resulting in a 39. I've been icing my ribcage 3-4 times a day for 2 days, then heating pad til the next Tuesday league. Seems to be healing but slowly. Probably the 9 holes isn't actually helping, lol. Only 2 more weeks remaining. Best hole of the evening, #13 par 5, tee shot 255 down the middle, 187 to mid green, pin was blue/back, slight downhill lie took 6 iron, landed just short between 2 bunkers, ran 8 feet by. Looked like it was going in. Lipped out eagle putt, birdie! My son lost his match, I won mine. We cant seem to play good at the same time!
  7. Played leagues last night. Had a good 9 while still aggravated by that muscle strain in my ribcage. First 7 holes was no pain, just swinging about 70 %, playing 1 more club. Last 3 holes had a couple swings that made me wince, but not as bad as before. Anyways, I ended up with 5 pars, and 4 bogeys, 38. Won my match and my son won his match too so we're moving up. Only 3 weeks left in the season.
  8. Good morning all. Coffee is going down good, switched back to drinking it black a couple days ago, why, I don't know, lol. I met up with about half of my golf buddies at the Lodge last night. Played pool all evening. Only thing I can do til my injury heals. It's a bummer to not be able to swing the sticks. I really miss teeing it up! I had to back out of a tournament Monday and Friday next week. Can't play in the shambles on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the rest of August and September. Had to back out of Myrtle Beach trip in September. I guess it has to be this way. I'll get through it though. All you Spies, have a great day!
  9. First off.....CONGRATS to the chosen testers! A huge thank you to Titleist for this opportunity. Also, huge shout out to MSG!! You guys rock. Not just this test BUT all the testing on all golf related items! Lastly, I'm glad I didn't get chosen, I've injured a muscle in my ribcage area and I would not have given these irons the proper testing required. I'm looking forward to the write ups. LETS GO!
  10. League play tonight was somewhat of a test on my muscle strain in my back right ribcage area. It really is getting on my nerves. I've only got a few more weeks left in our league so I'll just plug along. I'm going to sit out all other tournaments coming up, plus a 4 day Myrtle Beach trip in September. I shot 42 with an ob on my second hole, took an 8, par 5. Driver was all over the place, this is my most reliable part too! I did manage to win my match though, so we'll see what happens next week.
  11. Sounds fun, but I had to vote non participant. Injury is taking its time to heal. I didn't want to say "put me in", only to have to back out, so I'll be following along. Good luck all!
  12. Well, it's morning to the west of me! I'm bored af resting an injury that has me sidelined from playing. I am a gardener and love canning, pickling, and making pasta sauce, and salsa. I skinned 10 cups of tomatoes and will make 3 more quarts of sauce in a little bit. I hope all you Spies have a great day!
  13. Damn, that sux. I hope it heals quickly for your planned trip. I'm recovering from injury too and had to drop out of several upcoming tourneys!
  14. LOL, turned 63 on the 4th! Thanks!
  15. I know you're anxious to play but be careful not to cause another injury or make your wrist worse taking more time to heal. I've done this with a pulled muscle on my back/right side and now have to completely stop hitting for another 2-3 weeks, maybe more. Nothing worse than telling your buddies that you have to back out of upcoming tournaments!
