    Yesterday 15 years ago, I landed in the US armed with my mail order bride certificate, most of my life in two suitcases and ready to marry my best friend...what a ride it's been so far!

    Why do I expect good scores during a swing change? (It's a rhetorical question) Shot a 94 in the wind and drizzle yesterday. I'm happy to say that my case of the 90° rights are pretty much gone, I just have to get adjusted to the new swing and I should see my scores start dropping.

    I can say that the score didn't reflect how I was striking the ball. I played with one of the starters and because he knows me he said he noticed something that I wasn't doing...I wasn't finishing my shots and following through all the way. When I started actually finishing a shot my case of the rights disappeared, funny about that. Now I just need to work on bunkers because when you take 3 shots to get out, there's something wrong.

    I replaced the AC system in my truck yesterday. Took about 6 hours, would have been 5 if I'd had a stud puller. I took it to my mechanic yesterday afternoon and we pulled a vacuum on it, held it for a bit (no leaks!) and recharged. Setting the climate control to 60° with the fan going full, the air coming out of the vents is a nipple hardening 34°...it's so nice to actually be comfortable in the tuck again.

    I saw Hank Haney write that some years ago and have tried my best to follow it. The theory is it's easier to control the ball on the ground than in the air.

    I have no words to describe what happened yesterday. Shocking, demoralising, makes you want to quit comes to mind. I'm still hitting that awful 90° right off the irons shot. The only glimmer of hope was on the long par 3 #12. Playing 186 so of course I smoke a 4 iron 206 off the back. I got the name of a coach, so I'm going to give him a call during the week and try to set something up.
