  1. These look fantastic! My brother has had a couple for a few years now. they still spin like crazy, but sadly the finish wears off pretty easily, especially in the bunkers. I mean they're meant to be hit, and they do so brilliantly, it's just the looks dept takes a walloping.
  2. You're right! They'll be hanging on the wall, right next to the Red Bull Driver, all wrapped up tight in the plastic still
  3. I ordered some Mizuno 241's, and they sent me these weird green coloured things? Anyways, will probably keep them, they look kinda alright
  4. Been playing the FreeFlex FF45 driver shaft since beginning last year, and really enjoyed the performance gain. After looking through their product offering, I took a chance and ordered a fairway shaft for the 3 wood. Again, great performance. So that gave me confidence in trying their Meta Flex iX90 iron shaft. Put one in my 7i and played about a dozen rounds with great results, so jumped on the train and finished off the set last night! Also ordered their Meta Flex CBT 6.0 driver shaft for the Darkspeed, built them all last night, super excited to try them out later today!
  5. if not changing swing pattern to accomplish this (extra height), and just off ball change, go with the spinniest one you can find. Kirkland is a good choice, they spin like crazy.
  6. Shipping issues didn't get my shafts to me until yesterday, so after I got back from the course, I set about building! Did the irons in the MetaFlex iX90, and built a MetaFlex CB6.0 for the Darkspeed. Be heading to the range to try them all out in a few hours giggity!
  7. Initially I was going to say 13, but after having been there for a practice round last year, and seeing where they tee off on 18, and the chute they have to navigate, it would have to feel like hitting the green on 12, so give me 18 and that pressure packed tee shot!
  8. I've used the AMT S300 in both my previous Cobra Forged etc, and now my current T200's, really enjoy (ed) them. In my 790's, I have Accra i80's, and they are great as well, got a lighter swing weight, a bit easier to launch, really like them. One I will be assembling this coming weekend (c'mon UPS plane!) into the T200's will be some FreeFlex iX 90 shafts. Played around with one in my 7i for 10 or so rounds so far, and they remind me an awful lot of the Accra's. Lighter, easier to swing, bit more comfort etc on wonky shots. Hope they work as well in the rest of the stocks as they do in the 7!
  9. definitely. So much so, that if Tm would sell them on their own I'd snap one up! ALMOST bought the '24 stick and was going to sell the '23 but... cooler heads prevailed haha
  10. I purchased the '23 model a few months back, loooove it! My only regret is not waiting, as this head cover is miles nicer! Just received these off the delivery truck from North Coast, look pretty impressive! Beautiful leather on the glove case, and the cooler looks epic, hope the weather turns nicer so I can give it the test! Also, yesterday was my birthday, and something pretty epic was released, so of course I HAD to get myself something shiny, pics in a couple weeks when they get here. Some of you may be able to guess what they are
  11. Pretty excited to get the MetaFlex 6.0 delivered tomorrow! I enjoyed the 5.0, but it seems juuuust a bit whippy for me. I ordered in a 6.5, mistakingly thinking I already had the 6.0 DOH! I hit that shaft so straight, but low, so hoping the (second time around trying to get it right) 6.0 is a nice blend of the two! Hope to have it built and ready to play for Friday am, will report back once I have some hits with it
  12. Started with a few, some perhaps more attainable than others. 1. Get better off the tee. I bought several drivers, and shafts. Very close to narrowing it down, but stats have me at +2.9 strokes gained for the first 9 rounds (all this year) vs my previous 9 rounds (at tail end of last year) so I guess I can tick that box ! 2. Get better with the irons into greens, cost me massive, always walking to the green with putter and wedge. Stats have me at +2.0 for my approach play, so second tick mark! 3. Get better with my short game pitches/chips. Stats are +0.6, so an incomplete there. 4. Get better at putting.. my home course aerated the green last fall, and have yet to cut them this year. Finally getting some heat, add some water, and they should be in good shape soon. For now, it's like a Plinko game, in slow motion, so I won't even bother grading putting. 5. All the previous is in relation to improving in tournament play. Tried one last year, and failed spectacularly hahaha. First comp is in a few weeks (2 man scramble, not stroke play, but still a comp). Second is beginning of June, looking for some retribution over last years efforts, and third is in late August, stroke play comp, 55 yrs + Provincial Seniors Games, see how I stack up against the rest of the old farts in BC haha.
  13. Started using Arccos a few years back, the OG version that used the phone in your pocket to track. Wasn't "bad" but certainly far from great. When the Link came out, I thought "this solves it". Ehhh still, not so much. Would miss picking up shots etc about 20% of the time. The past 2 years or so, since they introduced tracking on the iWatch though, that's improved immensely. Basically the only shot it doesn't pick up fairly consistently, is the super short pitches. Having the pin setting locator on the watch is great, just walk to the hole, pull the flag to putt, and tap the button, adds nothing to play time. One spot that really is useful is the live distance tracking. So say you, or your playing partner, hits an errant shot, and you're searching for it. "what did you hit"? 7i.. "well why are we looking 200 yards from where you hit it, lets back it up" The first few years of inconsistency were about enough to give up on it, but I guess chalk it up to basically being a beta tester. It's come a long ways since. Granted, it's definitely an investment, one that not every player is willing to shell out for. Having all the data at your fingertips is handy though.
  14. haha must be something about them and cart paths, I blasted one on to some pavement as well However, I used up 2 more during the round, and that was just regular play, no bouncy trips down paths. The wedges and irons seemed to do a number on them. I have some left dash that look better after two rounds, than these do after 6-8 holes..
  15. I grabbed a couple boxes of the '24 chrome tour as well. Like the ball well enough, but they sure seem to scuff up quite easily...
