  1. Having had both...I prefer the Xbox...I will say that platform specific games suck. I would like the spiderman series to be on Xbox, but it is what it is.
  2. Honestly I do not...I find that I hit my irons more pure off the ground than when tee'd up so I play that way.
  3. 41 for a high today, but 59 Saturday and 71 Sunday. Booked rounds for both days! Looking forward to getting out.
  4. I use Golf Now when looking for deals. I also use my home course site to book preferred tee times. I still call courses from time to time, but booking online has become so convenient that I find myself doing it more and more.
  5. Going to be 24 tomorrow morning and 70 on Sunday! Lol I'll be playing Sunday!
  6. I have several that have been mentioned, but I really get irritated when a course over books a course and it causes slow play without any way to get out of it.
  7. Yeah forecast for upcoming weekend has 59 Saturday and 70 on Sunday! I may play both days! Wife is going to be angry, LOL.
  8. While I do like to have a drink from time to time, I have to watch my intake when I'm golfing...I tend to get a headache if I drink too much while playing.
  9. Looked at Park Mammoth and I know now why you want to play it. Sent the info on it over to my buddies and we all agreed that yes we need to stop and play either on way down or back.
  10. Where is Legacy? That may be on our way home which we usually stop somewhere and play.
  11. This is good stuff...My buddies trip this year we are coming down in May and we are looking at playing Hermitage, Greystone, and Towhee. Obviously I was glad to hear what you said. I'd like to hear more of your thoughts on these courses, and what your next 2 would be to play given all the options!
  12. I think this question is different by the individual. For me its value for the money. I'll pay a little more for a golf course in great condition, that doesn't have me waiting behind groups all day, and that I can reasonably play with my length and ability. I also would pay more for a once in a lifetime opportunity to play. That said, if I pay I have the above expectations. If the fairways and greens are tore up, the sand not raked, the course stacked with people, I'll definitely not be back. Example: I played a course last year for the first time in a few years. It's a premium course around where I live, and usually has the best greens and fairways around. It's very tight and challenging, but not overly long which fits my game. The issue on this day is that a normal round with a partner for me is under four hours. The course was so full on this day that we were on the course for 6.5 hours and didn't get to finish the last 2 holes due to darkness. On #14 tee box when we approached 3 groups ahead of us that knew each other combined and there were 12 golfers playing at the same time. For whatever reason there was no marshall out on this day and when we called in they just said "We are really busy today". Part of the expectation of a premium course to me is that you manage it appropriately. I assume you charge more to not only pay for the upkeep, but also because you limit the amount of players on the course at one time. This was unacceptable to me. Needless to say I haven't played it again, and I have zero ambition to play again. I didn't feel valued or respected. On the other hand, I play a course called River Greens in Ohio. They have 27 holes, are moderately priced, host several scholastic events and the course is always well kept, but what I really like is that even though they are always busy you never notice it on the course. I never remember having to wait on the tee, and we can always make a day of it, knowing approximately when we will be done. It's my favorite regular course to play. Always go back to it a couple times a year even though its a 2 hour drive for me.
  13. Right now everything is safe. My putter and wedges were just purchased at end of last year and love them. Everything else isn’t old enough yet to replace and I like how I’m hitting them early in the season.
  14. I mentioned in another post, that my buddies and I decided last year to start taking annual golf trips, and not always to well known locations. Last year we went to Greensboro, NC and had a blast. Played both courses at Bryan Park, played Greensboro National, and several others. It was a great time! This year we are going to Nashville, TN. We plan on playing both courses at the Hermitage, Greystone, and Towhee for sure. We are looking at a few others as well, and are staying just blocks from all the action in Nashville. None of us will be out partying all night, but it will be nice to experience some of the night life along with the golf. Did AirBNB and got a great deal for a nice place for significantly cheaper than a hotel or resort. The golf rates are very reasonable and the drives to the courses are fair. Michigan, South Carolina, Florida are all on our bucket lists. I'd like to go New York and play at Bethpage. Honestly as the years go on I don't see any location out of the realm of possibility. I'd like to do a West Coast trip and even one over to Scotland someday.
  15. Good article and I am happy to say I at least meet those tem items lol. The biggest win for me was when I bought my new irons I bought only 6-PW. I use hybrids for my 4-5 and I have 3 wedges that I play with for anything shorter than PW. This has been a game changer for me. My misses are not as severe and usually distance is fine with a hybrid allowing me to recover from an errant shot. I would highly recommend others doing the same thing. Like I tell my son, just because you have hit it well in the past, doesn't mean it's the right class. It's what you consistently do with it that matters.
