  1. We might have to check out Crystal Downs - I'd love to golf there and Kingsley Club, but will more than likely never get the chance.
  2. We have a group of 8 guys doing a quick weekend in northern Michigan this weekend. Friday is Champion Hill, Saturday is Arcadia South Course, and Sunday is Arcadia Bluffs. Arcadia is on my bucket list, so I'm praying the rain holds off for both Saturday and Sunday.
  3. Yesterday's round started started +3 on a par 5 after getting stuck under some trees and had to chip out twice. But other than that I putted well and had a good tee shot. Then hit a small green on the following par 3 with an 8 iron and finished with a par. Good drive on hole three but struggled with my wedges and saved bogey with a good putt. Best hole of the day was a 205 par 3 that I put within 12 feet with a 3H (just missed the birdey putt though). Unfortunately, after finishing with another par on hole 5 I noticed my Arccos Link was missing and bailed on the round to walk the course backward. Found it two hours later when I finally found the "find my link" feature and saw it was on hole 5 where I'd taken my last shot Thankful I found it but couldn't finish what was turning into a decent round.
  4. Thank goodness the Arccos has a "find my Link" feature, but I wish I'd known about it before walking the last 4 holes before giving up! Fortunately the app showed right where it was last connected and it was still there a couple of hours later. I'm going to have to come up with a better plan to make sure that doesn't happen again, but it has been tracking my shots over the three rounds so far.
  5. That's hilarious! I guess my username is a giveaway.
  6. that C6 is nice! I'm slumming it with the 3rd gen Camaro, but my dad is in Washington Twp. also and he has a C3 with an LS swap and a C8 - both are great rides.
  7. My hobbies have stayed the same most of my life, but depending on weather and how much I'm spending on each one they've gone up or down in prominence. Besides golf one to three times a week spring through fall, the other ones are: cycling - gravel grinder and mountain bike cars - 87 Camaro Iroc Z and a 93 Saab 9000, plus maintenance on my other vehicles animals - dog, donkeys, chickens, goats on a small hobby farm target shooting - rifles and pistols
  8. 8 is a little short for me, but 7 is a little long so depending on the green/pin location I'll use one or the other.
  9. I didn't know transfusions were a mixed drink. I've only seen the cans. Love Royal St. Cloud - that's our warmup round course for the golf trip each year. But I don't recall ever seeing a cart on the course (January trip).
  10. Congratulations to the testers. I'm excited to see the reviews - not familiar with Byrdie but I like the DTC model.
  11. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? Started golfing in 2007-08 when I moved back to Michigan. Typically shoot in the mid- to high 90s - on a bad day I'll be at 105 or so. My goal this year is to break 90. What do you love about golf? I love the challenge of golf - the individual aspect of beating myself or losing to myself. And nothing beats being outside on a sunny day enjoying the sunshine and grass. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? Started reading club reviews and course information and went from there. Where are you from? What is your home course? I live in Grant and work in Rockford, but the course I play the most is the Sparta Moose Lodge. I can get 9 holes in on my lunch break for less than $10. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best - every course should be in top conditions most summers and you can still find decent deals on great courses. Worst - winter, and the courses that open on nice days are too far from me. What do you do for a living? I work for a nonprofit food pantry in fundraising and development. How’d you pick your user name? That's an easy one - it's my Twitter and Instagram handle, and email going back to high school.
