  1. The course looks nice... my membership includes 5 green fees/year for Centurion and I've never used it lol
  2. Lol I don't even watch DP Tour... I only follow PGA. But I can tell you that Martin Kaymer was butchered on social media yesterday when he announced he was jumping over. His statement "doing this to take care of myself and the game" didn't help at all... I think his fans would have been more forgiving if he just said he is doing it for the money... but the lame excuse "to grow the game" didn't sit well...
  3. Don't like Norman, don't like DJ, don't like Phil, detest Sergio... Like Poulter, GMac and Westy... but they haven't done s*** in so long that it's probably nothing to watch... So, not interested... BUT perhaps watch a little bit of the first event: a) I can play Centurion Club for free, so want to check it out, just haven't had the time to fly to London b) watch the s*** show
  4. Totally this. Unlike Tiger, those who opted to play with the LIV tour, have no legacy to protect. And if you continue your lavish style, money is going to be tight. We all have a price...
  5. Lol you poor thing... I just filled the tank for a friend yesterday... $8.5/gallon
  6. Bring them... worst thing that can happen is they say no...
  7. We don't have this problem as such. Since carts are not allowed in competitive rounds, so theoretically, each player just goes to their own ball. Now, they probably do the same stupid s***... wait for you to hit and then pull the LRF and looking for the right club. But yeah, it's a mindset problem.
  8. In Germany, you actually have to pass a golfer's license to be able to play. It involves practical lessons with a final test that asks you to score X Stableford point through 9 holes and theoretical test with rules and etiquette questions. Yes, it sounds like a joke, but it's actually true. However, a lot of clubs are more interested in gaining new members so they make it as unbureaucratic as possible, meaning they'll just pretend you passed everything as long as you pay your membership. The mandatory etiquette classes are definitely a good idea, and I'll suggest it as well. But it also boils down to, how many paying members do you want to piss off with this? Probably the same paying members you should be penalizing on the course. We've tried the fast/slow player flight combo and it doesn't work when the slow player is so thick faced, that he believes others should slow down to match his/her pace. I'm thinking perhaps we should throw all the slow players in the last flights. If they don't make it, they won't be included in the award ceremoy and they might find out everybody has already left the club house lol
  9. Sweet! No waiting time either... so when you coming for a round? lol
  10. Before signing for the Q4, I considered the i4 eDrive40... IMHO not too shabby vs the M3... but the leasing rate was triple vs the Q4... so like you said... wtf am I trying to impress at age 38? The only chicks I'm picking up with that is my daughter and her friends lol At least we get our no-limit highways but the environmentalists are fighting to set a 130km/h limit to save gas. Yes, cargo space was also a consideration of mine, but my wife encouraged me to get the one I liked better and we would fit the kids and luggage in the GLE...
  11. I would be totally behind that idea. But Germans are f****** sick when it comes to data privacy... God forbid having a name made public for shaming purposes lol
  12. If I could choose again I probably would have gone with the bigger Q4 e-tron 50 Quattro... just more power. I either had to take the 35 Sportback or 40 hatchback to stay under the EV subsidy threshold. I guess the mid-life crisis in me was screaming for the sportier version. For daily drive to work and with a charging station at home, it's more than enough and I certainly got no complaints. But sometimes when I drive the GLE, I do feel the difference in power...
  13. @RickyBobby_PR@DaveP043 perfect, that's exactly what I wanted to know. I'll pass it on to the management and see if they are willing to piss off some members... appreciate the feedback!
  14. Thanks for the numerous replies, guys. We all agree bad weather doesn't help, but if 14 out of 15 flights are keeping up with the group in front of them, then it must be doable. Unfortunately, the only flight causing the delay was the 3rd or 4th flight, so they blocked everybody else. And all fights were threesomes! Normal pace of play for a foursome at our course is 4:20 (I personally think it's too much, but I'll gladly take this over 5-6 hour rounds). @RickyBobby_PR you nailed it, less and less people are playing comp rounds due to this problem. I guess management has noticed and want to actively do something to correct the problem. @GolfSpy_APH The 18 hole combination had no blind landing zones. My usual flight partners and I navigate through it in 3 or 3.5 hours. You guys all mentioned "enforcing pace of play" and it's not just having marshals driving by. When I asked the marshal to start handing out penalty strokes, he said "it's not that simple". So the question is how to effectively enforce it? Why isn't it that simple? Are there any rules that prevent enforcing it? But I like @DaveP043's idea: finish 30mins after your allocated time and you'll be penalized (DQ or stroke penalty). I assume this could be perfectly legal if announced before tournament starts as a local rule? More marshals with radios are probably not feasible. Usually, I would agree, that's why I play at 7am on weekends, highway is completely free... but it also sucks to see less and less golfers take part in comps for this reason. At least in our club, such comps also give members a chance to meet new people.
  15. 1 more for the lazy club. And if I'm blasting a putt 4 over over... I deserve to be penalized again lol
  16. Hey fellow spies... I used the search function to search for "slow play" or "slow pace" and couldn't find the thread where it was discussed, so I'm posting the question here: Couple of weeks ago, I played in a comp round which took almost 6 hours... under a little bit of rain and wind (ok, actually a lot) we were well prepared gear-wise, but a lot of us just couldn't take the long waits anymore... so we quit mid-round and complained to the front office. What good does it bring sending out marshalls if you are not going to penalize slow players? These egoistical assholes looked at us and laughed, saying 5.5 hours is perfectly normal. Good thing is, our club manager reached out to us and asked for concrete and feasible solutions against slow play. Penalizing players with a shot clock doesn't seem possible, cause unlike the pro's there just isn't enough manpower to follow every flight. The club manager told me it's just not that simple, a lot of rules need to be followed, etc. So maybe put slow players in some sort of black list and throw them in the last flights? Any other ideas? I would certainly like to make a change now that even the management is fed up with slow play.
  17. funny you mention the interior of the Q4... cause I really dislike the dashboard sticking out, it feels wasted space. But I mostly drive it alone to work, so it's fine on the passenger side.
  18. Agree. Our company also got rid of all cars. Of you need to visit a customer, you fly then rent locally. US and Canada are just too big. Can't see how charging infrastructure could be implemented effectively. I just checked Q4 delivery times, 18 months... Jesus....
  19. Except that in Switzerland only about 2% of the electricity comes from fossil fuels. With European gas prices, it would be extremely expensive to maintain your 400hp V8.
  20. Ah, one more thing I forgot... German government was paying incentives for people to install wallboxes at home and free financial aid for the purchase of an EV. I'm sure Swiss government has something similar too (or maybe not, rich mofos lol) People mentioned having 220V at home, but that's not the deciding factor. Remember all sockets in Europe are 220V. What makes charging faster/slower is the load capacity of the wallbox. In my area, the local utilities allow 11kW without any special permission. Anything over that, and you need an approval and your wallbox needs to fulfill certain criteria (network connection, load management, some protocol, etc.) Usually cars that support fast charging won't have an issue, but the bottle neck remains in the kW of the wallbox. If you charge overnight, 11kW is more than enough.
  21. The courses I've been to already offer 2/4 charging stations and EV get 2-3 hours of free parking (in most public park houses).
  22. I just replaced my 2 gas/diesel cars for a plug-in hybrid and an EV. The hybrid yields 100km of electric range and is charged at a wallbox in my garage. 100km is enough for daily use for the wife to drive to work, pick up the kids, take them to golf practice, grocery shopping, etc. Usually charge it every 2-3 days. This is the bigger SUV, so if we decide to drive around Europe, I just switch to gas after using up the battery. One complaint I have is the smaller trunk. With my old Mazda CX-5, I could keep both children's seats, pack 2 Clicgears, 2 cart bags and 2 kid's bags. With the hybrid I can only pack 1 Clicgear, 1 cartbag and 1 kid's bag. My daily driver is an Audi Q4 e-tron 35 (about 325km range). Just use it to drive to work and sometimes to the golf course. You can get the bigger brother e-tron 50 quattro which should give you 460km range. Since you mentioned roundtrips of 300km, this one should be enough for your needs. Both cars are leased (4 year contracts). I'm still not 100% sold on battery technology, so I thought leasing them would be a safer bet than buying it and having to replace a battery out of warranty. But both Audi and Mercedes seem to provide 8 year battery warranty. I have solar panels, so if I time it correctly, I'm charging the cars for free all summer long. I made the mistake to omit the fast charger for the hybrid, that's why for long trips I'm still gas dependent. But Europe has the infrastructure, so you should take advantage of it. With fast charging, 45-60mins for a full charge, just make a pit stop, bathroom break, eat something and when you are done, the car is ready to go again. I still haven't done the yearly service yet, but I heard it's cheaper than gas/diesel cars. Let me know if you need any specific details.
  23. Since you are surprised, I'll assume it was all luck... and by the rules of MGS, you'll have to yield the price... to me Gratz! So who won the tiebreak?
