  1. Thanks for all the reading material! I guess I should look into going even further back than I have been thinking...I had been looking at a set of these: I'd like a center shafted Bobby Grace mallet to go with it too...they made beautiful clubs, and put up a fight at the end. Anybody else remember the Aaron Baddeley advertising campaign?
  2. Hadn't thought of that one! Would love to see any of the component companies, KZG and the like, tested side by side with major OEM offerings.
  3. That is a good looking putter! I'll have to hop onto the computer to check specifics. sent from mobile device - please forgive typos
  4. Taylormade Bubble Shaft irons/woods! sent from mobile device - please forgive typos
  5. Just read the review, SuperDave, and I thought it was well done. I understand the feeling...I was selected to do a review on the Snell Get Sum, and that thread is a bit of a stage wreck too. I hope my review of the ball wasn't lost in that. It did take me a while to get the second stage up due to changes in my personal and professional life, but I hope the final product warrants a second chance to review another product. I notice quite a bit when newer folks join (and I haven't been here too long myself) there can tend to be talk of 'free stuff.' Like the Judge and others have said, there isn't anything free here. Quite a bit of work is put into the reviews. Anyway, good work on the Forward grips, and good luck I'm the future! sent from mobile device - please forgive typos
  6. I agree Stu, I'm a fan of playing it down. Makes it much simpler all the way around.
  7. I agree with everyone that's for more fun, but at the same time plaid jacket has a point. I play in a weekly skins game, and I'm curious how much Vaseline on driver faces or illegal balls there are in play at a given time. Now it's a different story if we agree beforehand to forego rules. After all, everyone is allowed to move it a scorecard anyways, so what's the point of observing long putters or balls? There's got to be a happy medium when it comes to money games. As far as pure recreation, though, do what keeps you coming back.
  8. Great Stage 1 jlukes! Envious of that putter, love the squareback style head. Can't wait to read Stage 2.
  9. My father-in-law and I played 27 Monday and 18 yesterday down here in Grapevine. This high 60s/low 70s weather has been great! We'd probably be playing today if there were any courses open.
  10. I'd like to give the Baffler a shot, but for the price of the Bombtech hybrids it may not be much of a contest. My fairway and hybrid situation is somewhat on the old and decrepit side. I'm playing an old Callaway X Tour 3 (the head is tiny) at 15* and an original Bobby Jones hybrid at 20*. I love the hybrid. It'll probably be restarted before it leaves my bag. Jesse Ortiz is a hell of a designer. The 3 wood, though, may be on the outs simply because I'm not very consistent with it, and I'm thinking of replacing it with a 16-17 degree 4 wood type club. I'll have to give the Baffler a shot. Thanks for the input! Side note: do any of y'all ever think back to the clubs you've gone through in your whoring and wished you could have a couple back? What I wouldn't give for the 16* Taylormade Retro Raylor http://valueguide.pga.com/library/637/fairway-wood/taylormade/retro-raylor/ I found at Sam's, of all places, in the late nineties. Great, simple club that prepared hybrids by a few years. I traded it or gave it away...would kill to find one used.
  11. I've been thinking of picking up both of those clubs. I've seen plenty of reviews on the Baffled, but I'm curious how the Bombtech hybrid plays. What do you think of it? Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
