  1. Received mine yesterday. Looks like an Iwatch (will have to keep it away from the wife!!!). I am not a fan of the phone app as the only choice ( I like sitting in front of my computer haha!) but I guess I will get used to it. Not sure if I need to change out all the old tags or if I can use those still in the clubs and save the new ones till i need them... Will let everyone know when I get out on Thursday! Drew

  3. So no photos of the group? Or more importantly the stories that must have accompanied such an auspicious group Of course the stories don't need to be true!!! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  6. More than 25 years ago, when I was dating my wife-to-be, her step father and i had a very good relationship- we both served in the Armed Forces, both appreciated food and drink, and both had a penchant for making things that we thought we could (he was much better than me at those things) and enjoyed doing it. Unfortunately for us all, Barney passed away suddenly in 1996, only two years into my marriage to his step-daughter... taken away far too soon, at 60 years old. This evening, I am drinking from the last of a batch of "Kahlua" that Barney and I made in 1994. The vanilla notes over the coffee flavor and slight aftertaste of alcohol are a wonderful reminder of Barney, and the times we had making this batch, the other creations we tried (too long for this short note, but I will write them some day) and the wonderful gift he left me - his step-daughter, my wife. Here's to you, Barney! Thank you
  7. Congrats!!! that is Awesome!! keep it going!!!

  10. So I played the first period on team Red (and Bonzai was on our team). I shut out team White, who had some significant firepower themselves, but... Second period I moved to team White to give Dave Parro a break, (team Red had already scored 2 on him) and they ended up scoring two more on me- first was a wicked Bondra snapshot above my right shoulder (he had about 3 inches between shoulder and crossbar) and just roofed it! - then he skated over and said "just gotta keep you honest!!!" Second goal was a two on one break - and guess who - Bondra to John Druce, who did not make a mistake! Was an absolutely amazing time!

  13. Glad I found this thread- because I want to share the rather eventful week I have just experienced. First, last Thursday thru Saturday was our club Member-Guest tournament. Interesting format- 12 flights of 8 teams of two (196 players) face off in a series of 9 hole matches in different formats (four ball, scramble, modified alternate shot, etc) on our two facilities. My brother and I have done well, both by playing well and catching others at a good time- until this year. We were bottom seed in our flight, and the first day we halved both matches - best you can do by not losing, but many others made hay by running up scores, etc. Second day we did ok, and we were actually helped by a period of rain that shortened one round, which gave us a few points but did not allow anybody to run away with the lead. Saturday we shot lights out and beat our two opponent teams 6 1/2 to 2 1/2, and won the flight by 1/2 point. Very happy indeed. At the awards dinner that evening we met a guest who was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles front office- he shared his ring!! Being from Philly, it was a real treat and for those of you who dont like Philadelphia, please see the attached link ...https://www.facebook.com/PhiladelphiaEaglesFrenzy/videos/2067311780154482/ So, then came Monday evening- where I attended a fundraising event for the Washington Capitals Alumni Association. It was the second year for the event, and I knew a few of the individuals from last year. There was a 3 foot tall, 35 pound special guest - standing next to it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up - just awesome! After a few adult beverages, I got to talking about playing goalie with a few other goalies (Olie Kolzig, me, Brent Johnson and Dave Parro - Well, one thing lead to another, and on Tuesday evening I find myself.... well... That is Olie giving instructions to Peter Bondra and me The obligatory after game kneeling photo! What a wonderful group of memories!!
  14. A sixty year old man awakes in a hospital bed, the doctor standing next to him says “ Well there Mr Smith... glad to see you awake. . You probably don't remember but you were in a very serious automobile accident. You have been in a medically induced coma for a week while we treated your injuries. You are lucky to be alive. We were able to save your arms and legs...”. The doctor pauses for a moment ...and looks away... “...But...” “But WHAT” asks Smith... “Well” says the doctor, “unfortunately we were unable to save your penis. It was severed and lost in the accident.” Smith looked at the doctor, a bit confused... “I lost what???” “Yes, you no longer have a penis. But, modern medicine has some miraculous capabilities- we can rebuild your manhood and make you almost as good as new... “This medical procedure is expensive, costing about one thousand dollars per inch. Luckily your insurance company has provided a settlement check for nine thousand dollars.” “Well” said Smith, “I think...” The doctor interrupted Smith and said “Before you decide, you really need to discuss this with your wife. If you choose a different size than before the accident you could create issues with your wife - so I strongly urge you to discuss this fully with her before you decide. I will be back in the morning and we can discuss your choice tomorrow.” The following morning the doctor greets Smith. “Have you discussed the insurance settlement with your wife?” He asks. Smith looks at the doctor and says “Yes.......we've decided we are getting new granite countertops in the kitchen.....” Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
