  1. I have a 58 that was bent to close to 60, I am getting a lot of use from that club around the green and bunkers, I have a hard time opening the face and the more loft it means I can try using a square face, which is much easier for me. I think on my next wedge purchase, I am getting a true 60 with the appropriate bounce, most of the courses we play are fairly dry and great fairways.
  2. @tony@CIC Funny, my buddy Chris is also a lefty, That is my problem with the wedges in general, I cannot hit a consistent high spin where the ball will stop quickly, most of the time, the ball will roll way past my target spot.
  3. I don't think I've ever used my 9 iron for a bump and run, I am going to try that next time I am at the practice green.
  4. That is a great idea, I usually use the 7 or 6 from the first couple of feet of green-side rough for my bump and runs, I am going to have to try it from the fairway if the same circumstances repeat it self.
  5. I am going to have to practice the hybrid putt, I have heard of it before but never tried to pull it off my self.
  6. Story of my life, I should probably have taken 1 more club on the approach shot.
  7. That was my thinking, I was trying to get my self in the green with an uphill putt
  8. Blading wedges is one of my main strengths, I had just bladed out of green side hole in the 13th, so I was not feeling my wedges at that moment.
  9. This one in the 9th hole down hill a little bit from the rough and over some sand so I had to wedge it, didn't do bad at all either.
  10. The fairways were absolutely beautiful that morning, they do a great job to mow all of them late in the day or very early in the morning, that was the 14th hole.
  11. Looking at the large picture now, indeed it looks super flat, but it is a big drop, I initially had hit the green just on the fringe and rolled back down the hill.
  12. Picture, you are in the fairway 15 yards from the flag, severe up hill for the first half, the green is elevated and the pin is about 4 feet above your ball, how do you play it? My partner and I had virtually the same shot, his ball was a yard back. I went with the good old Texas wedge from there, he went with his sand wedge. He hit over the flag and double putted for a bogey. I putted in for a couple of feet and finished with a par.
  13. I fell you, 140 to the pin, should just be an easy 8 or hard nine, better hit the seven iron.
  14. I don't recall the first time I broke 100 either, but now with Arccos it is much easier to track, so I should be able to go back and see when I hit each milestone. I got say I didn't think that only a few months after my back surgery, I would be feeling this good, I walked the 18 on Saturday and my calves were sore after, but my back actually felt fresh and strong. I don't know if I will break 85 or 80 this year, but even if I play like crap the rest of the year, I will be content just to play without any pain.
  15. My work sponsor a league for it employees every year, they pay half of the league dues for all of the players, the CFO throws in a couple prizes such a a new putter to the closes to the hole in any pair 3s that season, and a new drive for the most birdies for the handicap that season. We don't know if we are having a league this year due to the Covid. This is my 4th year with my company and I have played in the league for the first 3, we had a guy who was cheating like crazy, everyone knew about it, the league leader always gave him a break because he was new to golf. I didn't play much with him in the first year, but the last two seasons I got plenty rounds with him, he is the type that only count his good shots so if it took 4 shots to get out of a bunker he only counted one, or if he had a 50 ft putt he would take off and grab the pass as it stopped short or rolled past the hole, every time we played together I started keeping score, so when gathering the scores from the players and he would shout that he had a par, I would bring it back, dude how do you have a par if it took 3 shots to get into the green-side bunker and another 3 to get our of it? and you 3 putted too. I would make sure to explain his score shot by shot, it sucked because I had to keep an eye on his game at the same time as trying to play, lucky for us he left the company last year, so no more extra watching now. Unfortunately to root out cheating, you need to call them out, and make sure that they understand you don't care if they do not like you for it.
  16. Thank you everyone, I'm super happy about it, and can't wait to go out again, by the turn I had an idea that I could break 90, it took me a lot of concentration to finish the back 9. But again it was a great day of golf.
  17. It was awesome, both Chris and I birdied that hole.
  18. It was beautiful, greens were a little hard and fast but absolutely enjoyable. The fairways are really well kept and the rough is mostly short, so not many balls get lost. Taylor meadows is an absolutely hidden gem.
  19. That was one of the main let downs for me, the bag is very light, but most definitely tiresome to carry in one shoulder the entire round.
  20. Had a fantastic outing this morning, even with plenty bogeys a double and a triple, I was able to shot an 87, made a beautiful 40ft putt for birdie on 17th. Today was a great day.
