  1. What you really need is some Moxie. Moxie and Ding Dongs is the breakfast of champions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Barq’s or A&W? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. How about a 12-pack of Mt. Dew and a box of Ho-Hos?
  4. I didn’t. I went back to get them, but was distracted by the Cleveland RTX4. Ended up walking out with the RTX4 at 52* and 56*. They were only $20 more each than the Tommy Armour, and after looking at the wet spin numbers I just wasn’t sure I wanted to go the TA route. I will miss the raw finish of my CG-12’s though. 5. Another didn't buy, but walked through Walmart and came across this. Had no idea they'd gone that direction.
  6. Played with my father and my buddy that I usually play with. Front nine was horrific. I thought I'd try the Wilson Duos since I'd had good luck with them in the past. Nope. Couldn't drive, couldn't hit an iron, wedges were so-so and putting was eh. A lot of it has to do with the fact that my father doesn't play much and is sooooo slooooow. I always feel like we've got the entire course backed up, which makes me hurry everything. He's 78, and I want to take advantage of every single opportunity to do things like this with him, but it completely screws up my already iffy game. Went back to the Maxfli Tour on the back nine, and was better. Most of it still wasn't great, but I did have the best 3 hole stretch I've had in a long, long time. #15 is a par 5 playing about 475. Drive about 265 into the middle of the fairway. 210 yard 3-wood onto the green. Rolled a 25 foot eagle putt about 3 inches short, perfectly on line. Tap in birdie. #16 is a par 4 playing about 360. Drive about 255 in the middle, leaving around 105. Hit a solid 56* wedge and watched it bounce over the back, which surprised the heck out of me. Drove around to the back and didn't see it anywhere. Asked my buddy on the green to check the cup. "You little rascal" was the exact quote. So, one hop and in from 105 for eagle. Can't remember the last time I carded an eagle. #17 is a par 3 playing around 150. Easy 8 iron to about 8 feet and managed to roll the putt for birdie. All of that makes the number that I carded for the back even more disgusting.
  7. I live in that world, too. I did manage 6-4 last week, but I don’t even want to look right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Stopped at Golf Galaxy yesterday. Tommy Armour VCG wedges marked down from $129 to $59. Left handed, 52, 56, and 60. Didn’t buy them, but I figured if I posted this here, someone would talk me into it or make me feel better about not buying. My old Cleveland CG’s are pretty worn out, though. 9. 5 guys playing. Winning all my matchups. 3 of them are at -2 and are going to miss the cut by 1 stroke. I could potentially have the winner (Xander) and still lose all my matchups. Isn’t this fun? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Congratulations, everyone. This will definitely be your year. I'm joining this thread, which means at the end of the season I'll be the only one without an ace, since that's how things always seem to work for me. I will require partial credit for your aces, however. I've been inside 3 feet a couple of times, but not in the last couple of years and never really thought any of those close calls really had a chance. I do like the "winner is the closest to the hole without an ace" angle presented by @GolfSpy MPR.
  11. I hadn’t scrolled that far down the page. That must be the “home page matchups” Berg was referring to. I thought it meant the scoring home (or first) page. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Excellent. Thanks for the help. Worked just the way it should. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I must not be looking in the right place (or is it different on the phone app?) because what I would think was the home page matchups show me the total from all 6 I had playing. The score from my top 4 is around 85, but I’m seeing 105. Does anyone know if there is a way to have the app only show the top 4 combined? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I can’t even imagine how hard that must be. I’m very sorry to hear that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Congratulations! Great pic! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Very nice! Congratulations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Agree 100%. I almost added a couple myself, but didn’t see where it asked for a bid. I’m sure people who haven’t played with this system wouldn’t have known the difference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Definitely something going on with the claim system. Checked about 8 rosters, and 2 of them already had 8 players listed. Edit: Checked a bunch more and some of those have 7 or 8 players listed as well.
  19. You only get one shot at that, and you'd hate yourself if you missed it for a fantasy draft. 100% the right call.
  20. I had a Northwestern putter I bought in 1988 or so. I was young and poor, and I was pretty excited because it was the first putter I owned that wasn’t ambi. That stayed in the bag until about 5 years ago. I’m not sure I’m much better with my Rife than with that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. And here on the east coast we just passed 21:21:21 (24 hour time) of the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Take your last pick number and divide by five, then round up if it’s not a whole number. That’s the number you need to rank to be sure. It’s mathematically impossible for you to not get players from that list. For example, my last pick is number 366. 366/5 = 73.2. If I rank 74 players, I’m guaranteed they’ll come off my list. Given the diversity of picks in the later rounds, it’s unlikely that you would need to rank quite that many, but it will assure you of getting players you have chosen. 23. Went to the course with a different attitude thanks to a week of watching Shawn Clement. Something about his approach really speaks to me. #1-Fairway, GIR, ugly 3 putt bogey #4-pulled tee shot right of the green, can’t get the wedge to stick on the green pitched away from me, double on a par 3. #6-good 75 yard wedge for GIR, 2 putt from 5 feet on a perfectly flat green. #8-skulled a wedge over the green from 40 yards into a ditch, three strokes to get on from about 10 yards, another double #10-drive within 40 yards on 303 yard hole, wedge on the fringe, 9 iron bump and run holes out for birdie from about 25 feet. #11-hit the green on par 3 where I’m usually short because being long is 100% disaster, proceed to 3 putt on what is by far the hardest green on the course. #13-great drive, 3-wood from an uphill lie sails and disappears in tall stuff (I have no idea how I hit it that far) #14-great drive up the left side except it hits a sprinkler head, goes straight left about 40 yards into the pond #16-solid drive, 135 yard 9 iron to the right edge of the green, rolled a 55 footer for birdie. #18-235 to the green if you cut the corner and clear the water, and I just can’t resist. Drive it into the water on the back side of the green, but salvage a bogey with a good wedge and one putt. Overall, the driver was good all day and I hit my wedges better than I have in a while. Scoring wasn’t great but I was encouraged by how well I hit the ball overall. Cost myself about 10 strokes with stupid crap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Didn’t buy it. It was a raffle prize at school before Christmas. It officially moved into 2nd bag position and carries my Cleveland Hi-bore and Ping Eye2’s with my Golden Bear putter. Not bad for $Free.
  25. That’s a great looking bag. I bought a Traverse II a couple years ago at less than half price and absolutely love it. Those Ping bags are great and you got about as good a color scheme as you could. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
