  2. In the spirit of our next major, let's see how y'all respond to this. My favorite major is the PGA Championship. It's sentimental to me as I'm from Louisville and Valhalla would host it every so often. Going to practice rounds at the 2000 PGA Championship was my first taste of pro golf. I love the quirky/non-traditional courses. I love the huge field that can give us random winners a la "Dude Wipes" Dufner. I love that it also gives us winners like Tiger, Brooks, Rory, etc. (For those that try the argument about how "random" golfers win it too much. And frankly, I love that it pisses people off. I'm just glad it's going to Bethpage Black this year. Pretty excited to try and buy the MGS bag tag and ball marker again as well. Btw, my favorite majors in order are PGA, Masters, The Open, and a far flung last finish place, the US Open.
  3. I absolutely love Rockbottomgolf.com I have used their site to purchase everything from clubs for the kids to my hybrid and personalized golf balls.
  4. I’m strongly considering getting this ball as I’m looking for a tour ball. I’ve been gaming the e12 soft since they came out, but I need more spin. My swing speed is consistently 96-100 off the driver and the RX is the only tour ball geared towards slower swing speeds from what I can tell.

    Matte Red

I tried the matte red Bridgestone e12 and lost 3/4 of them in one round. Now to be fair I couldn’t hit my driver straight to save my life AND there was a wind advisory. But it was very hard for me to follow the ball in cloudy conditions.
  6. Hey everyone, I'm looking for someone to do an actual ball fitting here in San Antonio. I know Golf Galaxy claims they do this and Club Champion will offer advice, but I'm wanting to actually get fit for a tour ball. I also know Titleist and Srixon are coming to town, but I'm wanting to try everything. Thanks in advance for the help.
  7. So I played the TPC San Antonio Oaks course yesterday. Played as far back as they’d let me, on the gold tees. Shot quadruple bogey on the first hole due to losing two balls. After that, nothing worse than double. Plenty of pars. Shot 90. For the first 15 holes it was covered completely in fog but there was no wind. For the most part I couldn’t see past 160 yards or so. It was kinda nice just hitting the ball and trusting my swing to send it the right place. The bunkers were treacherous but immaculate and I found plenty of them. Starting on the 4th hole my driver was deadly accurate. All in all, couldn’t have asked for a nicer round. I will say this though, the customer service attention and detail I got from there didn’t touch what I received at La Cantera Resort Course. Nobody offered advice or even to clean my clubs. I brought plenty of tip money because I assumed a course charging $300/round would offer that. Oh well, can’t wait to attend the Valero Texas Open in a couple weeks to see how the pros fare.
  8. A few years ago I had an obsession with Callaway. I bought the RAZR X irons and X2 Hot driver, odyssey blade putter, X Hot 3 wood, and a X Hot hybrid. All while playing the Supersoft. Turns out the irons and driver were SENIOR shafts and I swing around 90ish. After taking a long break from the game I have a custom set of clubs from Wilson, Cobra, PXG, Cleveland, and Tommy Armour. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. Made a couple of changes. I'm waiting for my PXG 0811XF Gen 2 driver. Also, I've switched to the Bridgestone e12 Soft. The best ball I've ever struck. Distance and control off the tee have been perfect while giving me a decent amount of spin on my irons/wedges.
  10. Alright guys, I'm a veteran wanting to take advantage of the military pricing at TPC San Antonio. If you'd like to join me sometime next week, I need to know now. It'll cost you $109 to play. But that's way better than $399 like it usually is. We are a couple weeks before the Valero Open so the Oaks Course will be pretty difficult, but I've never gotten to play a Tour course before. I'm a solid 90 on a muni, so I'm sure I'll be way over that at TPC. However, I don't care. I'm just wanting to have fun and play a tour course. Let me know if you're interested.
  11. There's also the course where they used to host the Valero. You can get on there for well under $100. I like it better than TPC personally.
  12. So I've been completely dominating my Cobra F8 5/6 wood. It's now my favorite club after my putter. I'm debating on going up and pitting the new Cobra speedback against my Wilson C300. Any thoughts?
  13. FYI for you veterans interested, if you call Wilson's customer service number they will give you 20% off an order up to $1000 but it can't be customized. So I bought the D7s and paid $480 for them. Great freaking deal if you asked me. As my swing speed has lowered due to injury, the increased loft/trajectory has meant that my distances haven't changed hardly.
