  1. TrackMan session today. Ill post the data once I get it (some weird licensing bug doesn't allow the guy to let me see the data). I don't know if this is a PRGR thing, but I rarely could get over 160 ball speed. With the trackman today, I was easily about 160 ball speed with both driver shafts. Rouge White Wins on dispersion (didn't need trackman today to see that). Ball speeds faster with Ventus black but less control. Spin higher but playable on the Rouge. Lofted down to 9* and dropped spin by ~200 rpm and hit some more penetrating balls. Need to see this on the course but I think the Ventus is on the way to being unseated. Also got comparison data of the Caley and my 7w and 4i. Will post that in the review thread when I get the data.
  2. TL;DR: 60x, looking for matched feel in my set. Its the 60x. I am looking for a shaft that is less taxing on me when I don't have my swing. The Ventus black is great when I am fully warm and the swing is good. I also am just testing more of a blue profile to match the rest of my set. My woods are all blueboard shafts and I can hit them very well. With the ventus, I would hit one or two good drives and then either hard pull or wipey fade it. Also looking for something I can reliably trust on carry and not depend on roll out. I have hit some bomb drives with the Ventus but I also had to swing out of my shoes to do it. The Rogue on the range after my round today felt awesome once I got the timing down. I took that same timing with some swings of my 7i and I was adding 5-6 yards and having a little baby draw with it.
  3. Another nine with the Caley today. I am not doing this club justice by going in cold (no range prior). Once I got a few holes in, the club did real well and started to time it good. It came alive afterwards on the range after I was doing some bulk driver practice. I have TrackMan time scheduled for tomorrow to collect some comparative data.
  4. interesting on the SW. My two cents is this makes sense. You went up 10 grams in weight, that would adjust SW by a point or two. As well, your FLT shafts are flighted I believe, which plays a role in balance point for SW. What is concerning is the large range of SWs from the Caley's. As long as you can hit them well though is all that matters. Glad you can hit pin seeking missles!
  5. Did some bulk practice after my round to try and get the new driver shaft to function. Tried stock 9* set up. Everything was duck hook central. Foot spray verified it the toe strikes. Plugged the ventus in and hit some bombs on the range but really had to work for it. Then back to the Aldila and played with the loft. 8* caused the ball to drop out of the air. Lofting up 1* had some really good results, some higher draws but lots of movement. The real magic came when I lofted up +2 and I hit this towering baby draws consistently. The loft along with getting the tempo right was great. PRGR was only reading ~98 mph. I then stepped on it with the same tempo feeling and I hit balls that could get over mount hood. The shaft felt very explosive. I also didn't feel strained and drained from swinging it. I am getting on a trackman tomorrow for Caley data collection but will also get data from the two shafts, same setup too. One thing that was nice with the bulk practice with the new shaft was how my other clubs then. Hit the Caley afterwards and the transition was much easier as I needed a similar tempo. Then I hit my 7i and it was like a light bulb. Towering shots where the PRGR was saying the ball was going 175-181. Great line with a baby draw. After the initial round struggles (and it was bad because I went in cold), this was a very productive range session.
  6. Learned my lesson today in my round. Wasn't able to hit range balls with a new profile driver shaft prior to the round. (FWIW, range time afterwards may make this usable). Made for an interesting 48. The Caley had its moments today. Duffed my opening tee shot. yada. On a long dog leg I normally pull driver I hit the DI and hooked it sorta around the corner. Still had a 6i and and just left the face a little open. Interesting putting day. The SG won't show it but I putted somewhat decent. Had to adjust to the faster greens again, and the first two holes had downhill breaking putts that I judged poorly. The long follow ups on those holes were legit lip outs, so almost escaped with Dbl bogey and bogey respectively. On the 2nd par 5, i had a 360 lip out for bogey from 18'.
  7. Lean wit it, Rock wit it, lean wit it, rock wit it. Putt well fellow ball rollers
  8. They have 19*. I think the new version the 19 and 17 are available in lh
  9. Rouge white came in today. Hit some whiffles in the park. Liked the feel and didn’t feel like I had to over swing. Will see how its maiden voyage goes. Gonna try for tomorrow
  10. One thing the data tells me, I swing driver way faster than my irons. My driver data fits fast swing speed and irons mid swing speed. I guess I have to fix that
  11. Yes. Velocore 6x. I tipped but plays 44.5”. It’s amazing when my swing is on and I’m loose. Otherwise I have been fighting it. Need to test the rogue first to see if I even like it but the possibility is there
  12. Nice setup. Yes for me I will actually likely drop the 4i as I struggle to hit it well. I also could drop a wedge instead and would like drop by 58. Unless I am in a steep faced bunker or have a super short sided chip I actually don’t use it much since my 54 is my chipping club and primary pitching club.
  13. I may have a Ventus black available in the future depending on my shaft tinkering. I can hit bombs but timing can’t get off. Trying a rogue white soon and if it works out I’ll be offloading my Ventus.
  14. Interesting and concerning @AndySP I haven’t seen that yet so maybe some anomaly? I had the Caley out today and hit it better, albeit still hooky from the tee. hit some decent recovery shots with it too. Overall here are my average (dark blue) performance average (light blue) and longest (green) with it. This is super close for a long club to me and the average is the gap I have been looking to fill. I also have a TrackMan session scheduled for Wednesday to get some numbers. I bet they will be similar to what Andy saw .
  15. Got out for a free nine today at a local 9 hole muni. 47 but could have been easily 4 strokes better. Played with three other random guys. Was a good time. Didn’t lose a ball until the last. Played that hole horribly where I should have used less loft and pitched out instead of using my 54. Also had a silly three putt due to a lip out from 2’. I did have a 303 yard drive that was mostly carry. The club felt like a whip, but I also had to swing out of my shoes. Other two drivers were about 230 as they were pulls and hit some trees. The Caley was decent today. The approach SG was from 150-200 range. I think the last hole is what drug that down.
  16. Date 08/27/2023 Course Name Meriwether/McKay creek Gross Score 92 Course Handicap 18 Gross Strokes over/under par 20 Net Score to Par 2 Net Score 74 Net Birdies or better 4 Longest Drive 303 Mixed nines at different courses. Finally got a drive over 300 yards but I was going all out on it and it was 98% carry.
  17. Good morning all. About to head for my weekend nine. Feeling like @Kenny Bsore back and all doing preschool set up yesterday. Shoveled lots of sand and bark chips.
  18. one question I have, and this will require you to play a round with the same chrome soft balls they provide. Are the balls with dots reading spin into a net as accurately as the same std ball on the course.
  19. Thanks rev. I reached out to LAB and Bandon since they are somewhat local. Here is hoping we can get some great items for a good cause.
  20. So m next door neighbor is really excited to get into building clubs again. He I even offered to do a reshaft for me. I am skeptical and even more so after he told me he was gonna use gorilla glue for the epoxy. Does anyone know a good epoxy to use for clubs that I can tell him to use?
  21. All, no ideas where to put this. Mods please ping me if inappropriate and delete or move to the proper place. My daughters preschool (Hillsboro Coop Parent Preschool) here in Hillsboro OR is hosting an auction on Nov 4 to fundraiser for the school. This will consist of a silent auction and live auction. We are looking for some bigger ticket items for donations. I came here to ask if anyone would be interested in donating anything? I could see a big item being a golf package of several courses as well as lodging, a golf training aid bundle, a beginners golf set of someone’s third or fourth backup bag they are holding onto , a simulator package or session, or even lessons with the honorable @chisag . Those types of things. We have a goal of raising $15k. Please let me know if you are interested. You can dm if you want to remain anonymous to the thread. Also, if anyone in Oregon that lives nearby wants to come, please stop on in. Ticket info here: https://hllsbrpp.ejoinme.org/HPP2023Auction PS: I also know I am a self reported club Ho. I reiterate, these are not for me. I swear. I already have too much stuff now. Best Randy
  22. Usual swing work with some driver speed stuff inbetween. Towards the end of the session I was just really focusing on the ground starting my downswing and could see in the shadow that I was just naturally shallowing the club head. Hopefully I can keep that feeling up. Felt easy and not rushed. The driver spoed work was 3x 10 swings with driver. Did it inbetween technique work. Top speed was 116. Slowest was 106. Was mid teens when I remembered to use my lower body more.
  23. Just a thought on distance. Are you hitting them farther, not only because of the shafts, but the shorter length because now you are hitting the center more? Great to hear how they are for you!
