  1. Here is something from my other post @JScott that may help. I am a late release hence the lower flight. Also I feel we might agree the PGA tour can be used as a refernce point and of all The Modus 120 when it was a tour only prototype was dubbed "DP" for dual profile which is a design meant to cover both early release and late release swing types. A very stiff tip profile and very flexy butt profile. This profile provided a mid to high trajectory for early release swings and lower trajectory for late release swings. They also made the shaft highly workable as Nippon was aiming to develop a shaft that worked well with tour players. It is unique for sure. Now there has been the Modus proto LSL (Low spin & Launch) on tour for about 4 years now so who knows if it will come to retail, but from the 105 to the 130 there is some profile and flex that will help you achieve your goal if you dont want to change iron heads. But if you are comfortable with the PX 6.0 maybe test some player's distance irons and see the results?
  2. Thats aweosme! I wont use a putter with out one! I actually did a fitting at BGT facility and the before and after were amazing. I know it is expensive but people drop $600 on a driver plus what ever for a shaft upgrade yet get uneasy about a $200 putter shaft. If it was not working other OEMs would not be copying it I.M.O
  3. Hey @bens197 I would agree that there is not rating of what an A/R/S/S+/X/TX really is since it is different from shaft to shaft manufacturer. Depending on who that manufacturer is heck there can be flex differences from 8 different of the same 7i shafts. I would however disagree with the softer comment. The reason I feel you might say its softer per say is because the 120 profile is very soft in the handle by comparison to pretty much any other shaft on the market. However the 120 profile has one of the strongest increases in tip strength across any shaft out there as well which creates the stability. If you look The Modus 120 E/I profile is in red and the project x is in blue. The project x increases in butt stiffness before a kind of linear decrease in stiffness down the shaft hence in feel terms it will feel more stout because your hands are attached to the Butt end of the club and that is where the transfer of energy occurs to load a shaft. The Modus 120 when it was a tour only prototype was dubbed "DP" for dual profile which is a design meant to cover both early release and late release swing types. A very stiff tip profile and very flexy butt profile. This profile provided a mid to high trajectory for early release swings and lower trajectory for late release swings. They also made the shaft highly workable as Nippon was aiming to develop a shaft that worked well with tour players. It is unique for sure. Of course if you are in between flex you can always soft/hard step a tapper tipped shaft, but the feeling of soft or firm I feel is subjective vs. what true stiffness of a golf shaft is because everyone loads a shaft differently. That being said if you want to try something that lives up to the hype of being stout test a DG X7 or C-Taper 130, but even on Tour Tony Finau who I would consider an aggresive swinger games the 120X not even TX because of the stable tip section. But hey this is what makes Nippon such a great company
  4. PX 6.0 weighs 120g +/- tolerance vs. Nippon 120s at 113.9g. Nippon is pretty spot on with their weight from shaft to shaft which is one thing I really like about the company. I feel that in general the low/mid/high launch is marketing and what while for the average golfer it may generally apply I look for the shaft to influence delivery to get the ball flight that you want. I game the modus 120TX and it actually launches lower that the DG TI X100 even though it is marketed as a mid launch shaft and the DG is marketed as low. You may find the same thing. Since your HDCP is 3.9 I would guess you are a decent ball striker and your delivery is fairly constant. Before you look to a shaft I would maybe try a change in ball say ProV1 and go to the ProV1x and inspect the lofts of your clubs and what your launch angles are. if your playing say p790 the 7i is somewhere around 30.5 deg its going to launch lower with less spin than the same strike with say the p760 at 33 deg. Simple fix might be to adjust lofts a little and re gap a bit or if your in the market for new clubs try multiple shafts regardless of what the marketing description is. Lots of other factors such as how and when you release, as I mentioned the ball you play has a very big impact, how you load the shaft, and others... hopefully the small tweaks help and happy to answer any other questions
  5. I was just using the 7i for gap deference since most people are similar with lofts of 7i in various clubs. Depending on the OEM they usally go 4 deg from there 3 deg in long and maybe 5 deg in PW area. What I was saying was that the T-100 lofts are more traditional compared to the others they were comparing which is what you said may or may not be true which at this point I think we can agree the T-100 have the weakest lofts out of all the clubs discussed. Of course other factors going into club gaps such as ball choice shaft choice length of club and a few other factors... I feel that ball choice is one thing people overlook in gapping their clubs. They go and hit range balls and don't consider the environment or they go to the fitter and gap on a launch monitor and dont use their gammer ball... Regardless of Club choice ball fitting I feel is the only way to get true gaps. Titleist does their fitting thursdays once the pandemic subsides and they have ProV1 & ProV1x for you to hit when they are at a big box store.
  6. Are either of those den caddys for sale by chance ... and on the pictures thats a shame now we cant mashup you with the tiger king lol!!!!
  7. We might need some Mullet pics!!!! And anyone who gives you crap about your flat stick just point to the score card... And bummer on the staff bag I just really like it, did you get the PXG den caddy?
  8. I would say you are correct on the single degree but 2 deg is about a half club depending on your gaps. while that may larger or smaller depending on your ball speed output. Thanks for link and I would agree they would be players distance, but as it feels like to me the new norm for "players" clubs seems to be creeping stronger and stronger in lofts... However I would love to have a set of T-100s to compare side by side with my T-100 and see what my ball flights were like and if I scored lowered Id move over
  9. First I am not a PXG hater at all. I think they look and feel amazing they are just out of my price range at this day and time. That being said the combo set is awesome and I love all the Graphite design shaft use. I play GD shafts myself and they are awesome in my opinion. I hope nobody rags on your putter I would use a broom if it meant more holed putts. Its the one part I dont care about looks that much... what works works. The only thing I am going to say is all that money spent and you did not spend the extra whatever for the cart/staff bag??? The PXG cart bag is one of the clooest bags I have ever seen! J/K awesome setup
  10. I was refering to clubs in the same "players cavity irons" category. The PXG 0311T 7i is 32deg and the 0311 ST blade is 33 deg same goes for the Ping i210 at 32deg. The srixon Z785 is 33deg and by the way the Z Forged is also 33 deg. So literally every club I mentioned from any of the manufactures have a stronger loft. We were not even talking about blades to begin with so not sure why you are nitpicking since the t-100 7i loft is 34deg. This next part is take verbatum from the titleist website... "The fully-forged construction of T100•S, with 2° of stronger loft than our T100 Irons, creates a solid, consistently controllable club that delivers the exact performance, and greater distance, better players demand. Designed to give better players the distance they need to score lower." They say nothing about launch angle or spin reduction and from the marketing mumbo jumbo it speaks the t-100s is for someone who strikes the ball well but does not need nor want the the look of the T-200 but may need some distance help that the t-200 would provide. In regards to fitting however yes people adjust lofts to alter flight characteristics but most good fitters will test many other variables first before reducing the bounce of the leading edge. a simple golf ball change can reduce spin and flight... So before nitpicking and saying things may or may not be true... double check your facts.
  11. For some reason I read MB... The T-100 will go a little further than your 712CB, but as far as irons go there is a reason they are in the top iron count every week on tour. Feel is good, but the retention on ball speed when you miss hit is fantastic. There are other clubs that will go longer like the Srixon Ping or PXG, but I do not care about an extra 8 yards of carry because of stronger loft. The spin is fantastic. If you work the ball left/right which I personally only do a little of they are super easy to do it with. I do work my flight up and down though and I have never had a club that I can drop stingers or ballon up on control. Plus they look fantastic. These will be in my bag till I wear them out.
  12. Thanks for the info. I am running into a similar issue myself and I did not know Titleist actually made a 16.5 loft option. I game t-100 modus 120tx but never tried a Titleist wood or hybrid.... also I left my sm7 in the dust for ping glide forged but I have to say that is one of the best looking wedge sets I have seen ever! Great job man! How do you like the u500 and how is the offset? I actually went t-200 in my 4i (mistake) and I was looking at either the t-100 1deg weak or the u500 4i... also where did you get that alignment stick cover I must have one!!!
  13. How do you like your stability shaft I have one in both my putters lol
  14. Currently gaming modus 120TX heard along with the gost they already released the tour only modus LSL (low spin low launch) may be coming for retail... they were first spotted in 2016 and still used on tour... but this is another reason I love nippon. They go through such quality control measures to make sure the masses get the best product... their standard deviation in shafts is .03%. They are as round as anything out there and have the best manufacturing tolerances. DG can’t touch this
  15. The DG S400 weighs 134g and is on the heaviest side of the scale. If your losing speed and having trouble loading the shaft maybe try the nippon 125s it is a stout shaft like the DGTI but 10g lighter... the modus 120s weighs 113.9 but might feel different in a good way... depending on your age maybe look into the Mitsubishi MMT iron shafts... graphite is easier on the body among many other benefits. I just demoed the MMT in 125 TX and really liked it and it also comes in 105... as far as irons go if your coming from blades you will like the look of the t-100’s... it’s what I game. You can’t tell the difference at address between the t-100 or the 620mb until maybe 6i in my opinion... hope this helps!
  16. I agree time to get this thread popping! I love my t-100’s but I went with a t-200 in the 4i but the offset is killing me with huge draws and pulls... I am either going to get a t-100s 4i or maybe u500/510 depending on fitting results when my shops opens after the pandemic if it even still exists! Titleist needed to do this with companies like PXG having the 0311T Gen 3 at 32deg for a 7i while it’s strong it’s not 27deg or anything crazy bout a 1/2 club... the thing I like is you could easily do combo of t-100 and t-100s based on the bounce you need and keep all the proper gaps... Wonder if they have a new t-mb design to release later in the year too!
  17. I have done just an iron fitting before. I purchased my AP3 off the rack after a demo day testing. The guy at the PGA store since I was new to golf told me to get a R flex. Did not watch me hit balls or anything I just kinda new what I wanted. After 3 months I went to a shop who knew what they were doing. I tested about 8 shafts before he recommended the modus 120 X. It changes my game. Not only did I hit the ball further but more consistently. After owning those when I went late last year for an update I did a full iron fitting and settled on the t-100. I took my modus out of the ap3 and installed them in the t-100 and swapped the amt white into my ap3... you can find sets of pulls like it did for $150 and iron labor is not difficult I did the work my self... grips I learned how to take off with an air compressor so I saved my self a ton of money. For me shaft was the issue but if your going to go and lay for a fitting try other heads a lot of new technology is out there and a head you like is far more important than a shaft... s300 are 20 plus year old technology and you could be missing out though since the shaft will influence your delivery... as far as the other person said ping did trade mark iBlade 2.0 but with the pandemic who knows what’s going to happen... good luck
  18. I am really enjoying it so far... I have it in a 9 head turned down to 8.25. It’s a beast I’m pushing 117+ club head speed with it but it may be in part to the GD XC shaft. I was scared during my fitting with so little loft but I am hitting tiny baby draws almost every time... I came from an M3 and it is so much more forgiving... just works well for me... sound though is the best I have heard in my opinion... feel also top of the class
  19. True about the pandemic... I know Hovland uses the AV TX... I’m curious to AV TX line vs CK pro TX line... wondering price too... the new Diamana D+ is $450... guess we will wait and see
  20. So I was poking through MCA-Golf's website and found their 2020 catalog and looks like there is some major expansion to the AV lineup. Does anyone know anything about these?
  21. Late to the party on this thread, but if you have already purchased hopefully you got a fitting. I will add my $0.02 cents into the mix... Should I get fit for a driver? Is the $100-$150 worth it? Depends on where you live at, and that is because some are better than others. Club champion charges that because they have a huge amount of overhead to cover their high quality fitters, but they do have specials from time to time. However my shop charges $100 but if you buy clubs after it is only $50. Make sure they test how you load the shaft so you can get a few options you like. I'm in the market for a SIM driver... Well be open to other options that might perform better... Is an aftermarket shaft worth it? Worth is all in your opinion. In mine it is not even a question. Be smart though there are forums on here to do trades and ebay you can always snag deals. I bought my Tensei CK Pro white for $110 on ebay after the seller had it sit for weeks the shaft goes for $325+ new. Shafts last a long time just make sure to ask to take the grip off and get a serial number to make sure it is real.Same goes for the driver as well. You can find an answer man's club on ebay for way cheaper. I bought my Sim for $325, but look for senior regular and ladies flexes since they bid less when you're going to change the shaft anyway. Total spent on my sim $435 + $100 for my fitting and I am out the door cheaper than a brand new one. These are just my $0.02 but the fitting is key since it is very difficult for an ameatour to figure things out on there own. Once you have the knowledge then use tools and resources to help make your budget go further.
  22. Def a splurge but cant take it with you so might as well enjoy it now! Boy do those P7TW look amazing. I have hit only the 7i but I know after that my HDCP dropped by at least 4.67 strokes. Very tiger like setup too!
  23. those cobras look great! One thing I have noticed is a trend of 5w back in the bags of a lot of people. Is that preference or perhaps gaping? I go driver 3w then 4h 4i and basically dived the tee from the rest of my bag.
  24. Very unique setup but not in a bad way got to use what works for you. Curious though on your thoughts of 60TX in D - 5W? I go 60 70 dont play a 5W and then 90 in my 4H. Also the wedge setup has my interest peaked and would love your feed back and thought process. The 919 forged GW is 51 then you go 56 and all the way to 64? Do you use your 56 most of the time and 64 just for specialty shots or do you take full swings with it? Regardless love the setup!
