Testers Wanted! TItleist T-Series Irons!

image.png

Yes, you read the title correctly. MyGolfSpy needs four golfers to test, review and keep a full set of the new Titleist T-Series Irons.

While these have been on TItleists Tour Validation period for the last month or so, the official launch to the general public is August 3rd. Now is when we get to find out all the nitty gritty details about what’s under the hood of this series of irons.

This is the third generation of T-Series Irons from Titleist since they moved on from the AP lineup. This generation of T-Seriers introduces two “new” irons to the lineup in the T150 (replacement for the T100S) and the T350.

Here is a breakdown highlight of the series.

Titleist T100 - The most played iron on the PGA Tour there wasn’t much to change from the previous version. However Titleist worked to improve the feel, create tighter dispersion and updated the variable bounce sole.

Titleist T150 - One of the “new” models the T150 retains the looks and progression that the T100 made but with a slightly thicker topline and slightly wider sole to create a more forgiving package while retaining improved ball speeds by an updated Muscle Channel.

Titleist T200 - A non-clicky backplate! However in all seriousness the T200 for 2023 is where some big improvements were made. With some updates to the topline and finish the T200 retains the same size as the previous version with what will likely be a more appealing look. Titleist have moved the speed boosting Max Impact Core closer to the heel and face of the golf club to improve sound and forgiveness.

Titleist T350 - The replacement for the T300, the T350 comes in a package that matches the rest of the T-Series much better. It is a larger, more forgiving iron than the T200 and for Titleist is their Ultimate Game Improvement Iron.

Also included for two of the selected testers will be a Titleist T200 Driving Iron or a Titleist U505 Driving Iron.

I’ve made huge strides this year taking my handicap from 25 to around 10. I like my ping irons but would love to put the titliest through their paces. My ex-baseball player swing I think will be relatable to many MGS members.

Man, let me at 'em!

I love Titleist irons, setup, touch, just feel right! And it looks like some upgraded technology this year. Plus, you can easily create a blended set, which is a huge benefit to us older golfers who still have a bit of a short game but need some help in the middle of the bag. I'd love to play a few rounds and see how they compare with my gamer i525's.

I’ve heard so many great things about the T series irons.  I bought mine 2 years ago so I couldn’t justify new ones yet,  but this would be an amazing opportunity to test.  I’ve always wondered the difference between my ZX7s and these.  Not a fan of driving irons though,  had one of the ZX from Srixon and prefer my hybrid that I have now!

Oh man what an opportunity!

Dream set up for the irons would be T150s (5-W), 2° upright with standard lofts. Not positive on shaft as I was just fit into TT Elevate Tour S300s.

This would be the ideal T200 utility I believe. Not positive on the lie angle and really took a stab at a shaft here as I was just fit into Fujikura Motore X F3 6 for woods. I honestly would need to go through a fitting for a utility iron to be sure, but I am definitely leaning towards adding one to the bag as a fairway finder.

The only Titleist experience I've had was in 2018 when I got fitted for the first time to buy my first new set of irons. I wound up with a set of AP3's with TT DG 120's. You'd think the story ends there......you'd be wrong. Once I got the set in hand I flat out couldn't hit them. I gave them about 3 months of weekly play and practice before moving on from them to a different brand. I haven't touched a Titleist iron since. I'd be curious to know if I just got a bad set, or if I just sucked that badly at that time. Also, would definitely like to compare them to my Apex 21 gamers. I won't hold out hope. I never get picked for these sort of things.

The modern Titleist irons have been associated with better players.  I always associated myself as being a better player, however age is becoming an unavoidable factor that I must constantly consider.

Several companies have designed clubs to help players in my category and I'm hoping the T200 will be so for me.

I would like to see mid-long irons (7-5) that are semi-forgiving and can be easily elevated and short irons (8-P) having a precision/scoring look/performance.

A guy can dream, can't he?

I have been excited for these for some time now.  I would definitely do a bit of a flow set.  As much as I would like to go all four models, I would probably stick the 3, the 150 / 200 / U505.

Specs shown below, but T-150 from 7i to GW, T-200 in the 5 & 6, and a U-505 4 utility.  Modus 120 stiff shafts, plus 1/2" with Golf Pride MCC+4 Align grips.  Would be such a great way to combine the forgiveness in the long irons with some precision in the short (but still some added help there too).

Would love to test these t100s. I got away from Titleist to try some others for comparison. Playing Mizuno blades right now, but they are more of a traditional style blade, would like to see the difference in a performance player style blade.

Super Excited for this. I got fitted for the previous version of these among a few other choices. Would love to see them in action. Titleist is such a great brand.
