Redhawk
Just found out I will be in the area for 5 days in the fall. I would appreciate any info on where to play a couple of courses while I'm there. I would like to play ranked/ top rated courses that are public, if possible. Thanks in advance! Quote All Taylor Made clubs except I got Srixon 585 irons. Buy new TM driver every year. MarkCPA
Public golf in Memphis isn’t good at all. You’ll have to leave the city to find anything worth playing. Cherokee Valley (Olive Branch, MS) and Mirimichi (near Millington, TN) are really about it. If you have a membership at a club in Michigan, have your pro reach out to Windyke CC, TPC Southwind, Ridgeway CC, and Spring Creek Ranch. Ben_Howell34
Mirimichi is worth playing but isn’t anything special. Great layout but could be taken care of better. Greens are solid though. ALo314
You should check out Overton Park. Super vibey muni that King-Collins renovated. CharlieGrisham
I played a two day event a couple weekends ago in the area. Memphis just isn't really my cup of tea, I suppose. We played Timber Truss in Olive Branch on a ridiculously hot day and then Tunica National the day after a cool front came through. I would absolutely play Tunica National again. Very resort-like feel to the course. Lush fairways, just enough challenge to keep it interesting. Not a lot of elevation change, but you're within spitting distance of the Mississippi, so you'll get that. The Tunica casinos are all within about 5 miles if that's your thing. Timber Truss didn't do much for me. I want to play Mirimichi to cross it off, so my next trip without a set agenda would likely be Mirimichi and Tunica National.
