  1. Super interesting take with the S70 and sensors. I'm definitely interested in seeing how the sensors and shot tracking work with Garmin. They're pretty much the most expensive options out there, so I'll be curious to see if it's worth the extra $. Plus, adding in all the health-related tracking will be a fun follow to see if the S70 can indeed work as a standard smart watch / health watch replacement.
  2. Good morning, Spies!! Happy Friday Eve! Last night was a pretty nasty one. Heave storms came through and made a mess. All 5 courses here are closed until noon due to the storms. They went from Severe Storm Warning to Tornado Watch to Tornado Warning to Flood Warning. Lots of lightening and rain pretty much all night. Gotta love being woken up in the middle of the night when the house shakes due to a huge thunder clap. I was actually having dinner at my folk's place when it all started. Lots of lightening and thunder but the rain was somewhat normal. After dinner heading home, it got much worse. It's only 4.8 miles, but there was a lot of debris o the roads, lightening pretty much non-stop, winds into the double digits, and the rain came down much heavier than before. Looking outside into my front yard and street, lots of small branches and leaves scattered around. Plus, our grass is already looking like a wheat field and now it won't get mowed for at least another day or two. Oh well, that's just the way it goes I guess. Luckily we didn't see any tornadoes here in the community and power surprisingly didn't go out. Small victories. Everyone have a wonderful Friday Eve!!
  3. Don't feel too bad. I'm in the same boat. I still have 1 or 2 fittings still in the next week. Of course anything I buy won't get here in time I bet.
  4. A really good one that's easy on the bank account is the Sub70 949x. I play the 3w & 5w and love them. And under 2 Ben's, they're an incredible value especially for new clubs. Lots of shafts to chose from too.
  5. I've had the sticky P tag on my SS grip for the last 9 rounds now without issue. I think the key was a clean surface on the butt of the grip and then setting the putter on the tag here at home for a few hours to let it "set." Time will tell I guess.
  6. I'll be curious to follow along with your season-long eval of the Cobra. I'm in need of something myself for that top end of the bag, so this will be interesting.
  7. As I continue to gather stuff for my own Maltby build, seeing what you all are doing has my mind blowing up with thoughts and ideas. I need to keep some popcorn next to my desk to see what awesomeness comes next!
  8. Good morning, Spies!! Happy That Day!! Overcast and drizzly morning here. We're expecting thunderstorms here the next couple of days, but hopefully nothing as bad as what went through the Ohio valley last night. Hopefully everyone is ok. Nothing new to report today, so I'll just keep things short. Have a wonderful, umm That Day today!!
  9. Wholeheartedly agree with you Jamie. I would not put MacGregor in the same level as Caley, but would for the others like Sub70. Not all DTC's are created equal. Are they the same MacG from the 70's and 80's? No. But they're not a pop-up DTC brand with catalog clubs like some of the lesser brands. Ram, as you say is more on that "simpler" DTC level, but not MacG. I wouldn't think twice about buying MacG irons the way I would a few others.
  10. I'm guessing 57 minutes is what it means. Can you imagine trying to putt all those putts in less than a minute?! Talk about exhausted.
  11. Might be worth having them bent back a little, perhaps halfway back to standard and see how that does if you don't like how things are going left to much.
  12. Congrats testers!! I'm really curious as to how these work for everyone. They've had a very positive showing on the interwebs and YT, so really curious to see how they do in your testing. Good luck to all!
  13. Congrats to the testers!! I look forward to hearing about your experiences, good and bad with the new Vokey's. Been a while since I had one in the bag, so curious as to the latest iteration of the. Good luck!
  14. As I just celebrated my 50th b-day (although celebrate might be a strong word), I'm starting to think differently about my bag make-up than I did just a few short years ago. I had a PXG fitting a few days ago and will have an OEM-neutral fitting next Monday. Those fittings will help me determine what the proper bag make-up should be along with the best options to fill those slots. One of those slots in particular is up for debate, as I take a long-hard look at my game and my needs - the 5 iron. Looking at my Shot Scope data over the 7 rounds I had it for at the end of last year, I hit the 5 iron 15 times. I bet I hit it well, less than 5. The other 10? Thin, topped, and fat are the best way to describe them. Consistency goes out the window with that long iron for me, and has for some time. I keep thinking I'll figure it out, especially with the changes I've made in my swing to help with good contact and proper swing mechanics. But is it worth continuing to struggle with it and allowing bad shots to happen 2/3 of the time while I continue to work on my swing for a fix that may never fully come? I'm thinking no. So I'm looking at a complete reset of the top of my bag and that transition point into the irons along with the iron set make-up itself. The main point being that I'm looking to dump the 5 iron and replace it with something more useful, but more importantly more consistent. So my question to you all is this - do you still use the 5 iron, and if not what have you replaced it with? Utility club, hybrid, or high-lofted fairway wood? Let me know your thoughts and experiences around this part of your bag. I'd love to get more thoughts than just my own.
  15. I'm seriously considering grabbing the MT-86 OS heads-only and building a set of them. I'm glad they offer the heads-only like other DTC's are. Since in most cases the shafts are limited, being able to get them this way is great for those of us who want specific shafts. I'd love the new CB's they have now, I'm just not at that point in my game to be able to enjoy them properly.
