  1. I am that guy that doesn't give any puts and don't expect to get any puts given. We always have some form of competition going in the group and I find that guys that are used to not put those little 2 footers because they are given the whole time, tend to mis them quite often when there is something on the line. I will hold the flag and wait for you to put out.....
  2. When I play a course with the facilities to hit a few balls, I always hit at least half a bucket, but my home course doesn't have the facility to do so. I usually warm up a bit with some stretches and a couple heavy swings with 2 clubs in my hands. Luckily the first tee shot is a 5 or 6 iron to a wide fairway on a short par 4. When I get to hit some balls before I play, I usually play about 3 to 4 shots less on the round than on days I cannot warm up.
  3. Congratulations to all the testers, looking forward to read the reviews on these putters.
  4. I started off playing golf with one of my father's old Tommy Armour blades, that was in 1997. Then in 1998 by father bought me a set of Anvil Irons with a Spalding Big Momma 3 wood and a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 gun metal putter. The deal was then if I become a single handicap I can get better clubs. Then in 2000 I became a 9 handicap and got a set of Muzino T-Zoid Comp CT irons and a Muzino T-Zoid driver with a golden head. In 2002 I added a Hogan Apex Edge 2 iron to the bag and in 2003 I changed the driver to a Taylormade R540. In 2003 I cracked the face on the R540 which Taylormade then swapped for a R540XD. In 2006 I bought a Nike Sumo SQ driver which I could carry 320m. In 2008 I bought my current Muzino MP32 irons. In 2009 I cracked the face on the Nike and the local retailers wouldn't even do the effort to get it to the Nike rep to have a look at it, so I bought a Adams driver, also with a square head and fitted it with an extra stiff shaft. In 2021 I bought a used Taylormade R15 driver. In 2022 my brother in law swapped my R15 for a Titleist TS3. The putter my father bought in 1998 is still in the bag without any plans for me to change it. In 2023, as in tomorrow, I am planning to go for a fitment with Srixon for irons, will see how it goes and if they are worth the change from the MP32's. I do think the more forgiveness will help my scores a lot. with the blades any slight mishit really punishes my game.
  5. I had the privilege to play Leopard Creek Country Club on Friday 28 October. Handicap: 5.1 Course Handicap: 8 Gross Score: 78 Net Score: 70 Net to Par: -2 Net Birdies: 5 Longest Drive: 295m or 322 Yards My handicap got cut down to a 4.8 after the round.
  6. Played Malelane Golf Club on 15 October, Handicap: 5.1 Course handicap: 6 Gross: 75 Net: 69 Net to Par: -3 Net Birdies: 5 Longest Drive: 305m or 333 Yards (I was outdriven by another player by about 50 yards. )
  7. Yesterday my self and a fried went to play a quick 9 holes for preparation for the Church competition we are sponsoring on Saturday. I tried to play very conservatively and make sure I restrict my backswing. I sure hope I get it to work the same come tomorrow morning as I played really solid golf, even with the couple of branches that got in the way of the ball. I played a one under par 35 with 3 birdies and 2 bogies, of which the one bogie was definitely stupid, I went into the 9th at 2 under. The only downside of that is my handicap got gut to a 5.1 after that round, one day before a Stableford competition.
  8. Thank you, the problem with hitting it long is that errant shots end up deep in the bush, sometimes as far as 100yards off line which then make holes very interesting and usually very long.
  9. I'm playing in a competition on Saturday so will get my round in for week 3. I actually hit a longer drive on the one hole but was about 20yards left so didn't count that as the longest drive, the fairways here are nice and firm on some of the holes. But the layout on the course only allow me to hit driver on 6 of the 18 holes, the rest I use a long iron or 3 wood to stay out of the trees, or short of the trees in the middle of the fairway. I am really working hard on getting the driver to work better and more consistent. Have a nasty fade when I don't rotate properly on my backswing with the driver.
  10. I played again on Friday 7 October at Malelane Golf Club par 72, Handicap: 5.5 Course handicap: 6 Gross: 80 Net Score: 74 Net to par: +2 Longest Drive in the fairway: 292m or 319yards Net birdies: 2 Sorry for the late submission but I dont think that round will move the leaderboard.
  11. I played on Friday 30 September with my son. at Malelane Golf Club Handicap: 5.5 Course handicap: 6 Gross: 78 Net Score: 72 Net to Par: 0 Net Birdies: 3 Longest Drive: 310 meters or 339 yards
