  1. I just picked up a Callaway AI Smoke Triple Diamond 7 wood this week, and after one range session, I absolutely love it. I'm still trying to figure out how to set up my bag going forward - will it replace my 4 iron, or hybrid? Should I swap out my 50* and 54* and put a 52* in the bag? At this point, I really don't know, but I'm excited to figure it out over the next several weeks!
  2. I just recently swapped out my P790 A Wedge for a Vokey 50 degree, and am very happy with it so far! I'm able to use it for full shots, but also feel more comfortable chipping with it compared to my old A-Wedge (likely because of the profile and similarity to my other wedges). My prior wedges were Callaway, which I also really liked, though I think I am happier now with the Vokeys. I also tested MG4's and Cleveland when shopping for wedges, and for whatever reason I just did not mesh well with the MG4's, which were my least favorite I tested. I share all of this to say - head into PGA Superstore or Golf Galaxy and test them out! As others have said, determine what you would want to use it for, and then go from there to figure out which wedge feels the best for you.
  3. I got an unbelievable deal on a Paradym AI Smoke Triple Diamond 7 wood. Can't wait for it to get delivered so I can get it on the range and start to figure out where it fits into my setup!
  4. I have been using the same pair of Oakley Golf Prizm glasses for 5 or so years. The frames aren't my favorite, but I got a great deal on the glasses and can't bring myself to spend the money to buy another pair. I don't have any complaints with the lenses, they provide a very clear picture and are a huge help on sunny days!
  5. I think YouTube has been a huge help for my game, but only AFTER I have worked with a swing coach to better diagnose and understand where I need to improve. I've picked up a lot of useful tips to improve my short game, course management, and drills to tackle my issues. The area where YouTube has helped me the most, however, is strength/conditioning/flexibility; I've found so many useful stretches, lifts, and exercises to help me stay more limber, and pick up ball speed.
  6. Congrats to those selected! Looking forward to seeing how these perform!
  7. It's hard to beat Nelly Korda's swing, so smooth and effortless! On the men's side, I really like Colin Morikawa and Matt Fitzpatrick.
  8. I have a Garmin watch that I use in round, and use the Garmin Golf app to keep track of my stats, review progress, etc. It's pretty basic, but gives me a shot Overview, which gives me my Strokes Gained average based on golfers with a similar handicap, and helps me see where I need the most improvement.
  9. Welcome to the forum, and to golf! For rain gear, you can't go wrong with FootJoy - I've been using a HydroLite short sleeve rain jacket, which has worked out great. I also purchased a pair of Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour 2 Shielf golf shoes this winter, and I they have been a game changer for wet/rainy conditions. I've had a lot of luck finding discounted golf gear in a Golf Club Traders Facebook group I'm a part of, so would suggest seeking one out and interacting with the community there!
  10. A good glove is a must for me, and when the weather heats up I also will carry a backup in case my original gets a bit sweaty. For me, I feel much more confident in my grip with a glove, and am able to better avoid gripping more with my palm. Along with the glove, I also use a grip spray to really make sure I have a solid, tacky grip. A few summers ago, my right hand slipped a bit and left the face wide open leading to a shank directly into a house (luckily, no broken windows or damage), so I'm a bit paranoid about my grip now.
  11. I agree with this - the ability to move around to different groups, holes, etc. makes the entire experience more enjoyable, especially on a Thursday or Friday round. I'll even throw in a split screen, or "quad box" option, to watch multiple groups at once. I would also love if they "mic'd up" the players more, similar to the NFL. The golfer/caddie conversations are great, and would give the average fan some insight into their thought process and approach to various shots.
  12. Not sure if you're into wearable's, but my Garmin Watch takes wind into account! I have the Epix (mostly bought for running/hiking, but the golf app is an added bonus) Since there have been a lot of night golf comments, which I could not agree with more, I'll go in a different direction - put a camera at the first tee box, and each par three, and then play them live in the clubhouse/bar area. I'm just picturing a post round beer with your group, betting on where the next tee shot is going to go.
  13. My golf group and I have a shared playlist we listen to when we play. I love having some background music, and we're always careful to turn it down if we are in range of other players! Also, if you're using Spotify check out the "FP's Dart's Only" playlist from Bob Does Sports' finest, Fat Perez. It's a little mix of everything, from classic rock to rap and everything in between.
