Maddlestone got a reaction from Fatshot in Seven wood anyone?
I have been playing a 7 wood for about five years (a 9 wood as well). It is my club of choice for shots that need to fly long and stop quickly into a green. Usually from 200 to 220 yards. It is also handy for long fairway bunker shots if the lip of the bunker is low.

I used to buy BOAs but the cable stays kept failing and I got tired of sending the shoes back to FootJoy over and over again. Granted, they replaced them with new ones through my Club, but, it became an irritation.

How long have you been playing golf? Since I graduated college in 1988 but seriously only for the last 12-15 years.

What’s your handicap or normal score? Current handicap is 8.3 and I am happy to be trending in the right direction. On a good day I will shoot 75 and on a bad day in the mid eighties.

What do you love about golf? I love continually trying to improve my game.  I am fortunatele to be able to play about 130 rounds a year now and the guys I usually play with are very low handicappers so I am always striving to improve.

What brings you to MyGolfSpy? I love data so have read Mark Brodie's book "Every Shot Counts" and I am a huge proponent of Arccos so I can gather strokes gained information and hone the various aspects of my game.

What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? The best things are that (1) it’s year round golf even though it gets into the 30s in the winter and 100s in the summer, and (2) I enjoy the people I play with each week. I will play in any weather condition except a driving rain.   Worst thing about golf is that sometimes there is a driving rain.

I have zero issues with buying "like new" clubs FROM REPUTABLE SELLERS.  I have been a big fan of www.callawaygolfpreowned.com and have bought "like new" wedges, putter, and multiple fairway woods from them.  They also list their clubs on eBay.  I just have never bought irons from them...yet.  Their "like new" has always been pristine.
I would recommend staying away from some stuff on eBay as there is A TON of counterfeiters out there.  I do not trust anyone on eBay selling driver shafts as it is super easy to buy a premium shaft only to find out later (when you replace the grip and see what was underneath the grip tape) that it was a repainted $10 shaft made in China.  Sure enough, I found a manufacturerer in China that counterfeitted shafts and they would have sold the counterfeits to me in bulk.
I bought GolfPride iron grips once only to find that they were fake.  As soon a a drop of solvent touched the Golf Pride logo, it ran.
There are several YouTube videos showing how good counterfitters are making things look. I am not saying everything is counterfeit, but, buyer beware.
