  1. Got the head delivered today, here it is in sunlight, looking great and I'm assembling it later tonight.
  2. Sorry, meant to say you epoxy the two halves on, then after they set, you use acetone to melt the seams together, sand, then melt them again.
  3. You will likely need to "fuse" them together after both sides are epoxied with acetone. Otherwise I don't recommend them.
  4. I got bored like 2 years ago and bought one of those DC Power Supplies, went and got some Copper Sulfate and other chemistry stuff, and Copper plated my old Sub70 irons
  5. The iron shaft you select is primarily based around the headweight. Classic head weights are as follows: 1: 232 2: 239 3: 246 4: 253 5: 260 6: 267 7: 274 8: 281 9: 288 W: 295 Wood Shafts D (no trim): 204 3 (if trim, usually 1/2"): 214 5 (if trim, usually 1"): 222 Hybrid Shafts No Trim: ~230 1/2": 237 1": 245 Most headweights are kinda all over the places these days, 7 irons have kinda gone down to the classic 6 weight, but whatever is closest to the weights I'd pick that shaft instead of saying "I'm gonna put a 6 iron shaft in a 6 iron". Read your OEMs shaft trimming guide.
  6. Figured this would be the best forum to post this in, as an experiment I decided to design an Anser clone in Fusion360, and wanted to share various pictures of everything from various manufacturers overseas. Decided to make a left handed version too for my friend, not sure if selling yet to be quite honest, but I'm happy with making something of my own. There's been a few iterations on the design, but the Copper/Bronze and Silver PVD ones should be the final iteration. The first iteration was made by Xiamen TH Sport Co LTD, the second Jasde Golf. Should be arriving here within the week and I can get it assembled and tested out. Feel free to ask me about the design process, manufacturing selection, etc. I have to take some screenshots of the model in Fusion360 and attach them later. Head Material: 304 stainless steel Milling Method: Billet, 3-axis Loft/Lie: 3/70 Thread Size and Depth: M20x1.25 , 8mm Weight Empty: 305g Sand Blasting: #220 Quartz Surface Finish: 1st: Melonite QPQ, 2nd: Matte Silver PVD and Matte Copper/Bronze PVD Toe Hang: ~44 degrees Bore Size: 10mm Machining Precision: ISO 2768 Medium Sample Cost: ~$135/head
  7. Does anyone know if they will release a newer model with an adjustable hosel? I played their previous tour fairway wood and the pvd coating wore out in less than 3 months.
  8. Saw these listings go up yesterday, and picked up a pak of the TC Pro 3w. Supposed to use the same adapter as their KE4 drivers, and I think some of the left handers will be getting some love.
  9. Most drivers these days have an, ahem, gel-like hot melt inaccurately/haphazardly inserted into them to achieve weight. If you cut a driver head in half or have had the pleasant experience of having a crown pop off, you can see this magical work. Inserting any material or changing the materials of the crown/body will affect acoustic performance, as well as changing the supporting and flex rigidity of the face. It's a reason why all-titanium crowns sound very "bright". As for feel, can't really say much on that, I've been playing the same driver shaft for ages, only thing I really noticed when testing different heads were the sound, they all still feel like aluminum baseball bats.
  10. I'm not trying to insult people, but it is incredibly frustrating how the same replies keep coming up in this discussion, namely the chief one is "It's not going to affect me and I don't care if it affects you". That's great, I don't care that people have opinions on these topics. Everyone can choose to have an opinion on it or not. I don't think it's fair to say I'm insulting people, and then turn around say "Actually, I'm glad it's only affecting you and players like you" and expect us to take it on the chin and not be insulted by it. And then to put the cherry on top, wrap this all up in a Think of the game of Golf! so that when we disagree, because we will, it's pointed back at us as though Well, actually we care about golf, don't you care about golf? Yeah sorry if I came off too hot, this whole topic has been pretty annoying to be honest, it's almost as bad as LIV vs PGAT, and none of us have the power to actually change anything.
  11. Oh yeah, I forgot to include, ONCE AGAIN the USGA and R&A is STATING that this will not end at the ball rollback. People who think it will end at the ball are just playing themselves at this point. https://www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/articles/2023/12/revised-golf-ball-testing-conditions-to-take-effect-in-2028.html Who is going to be affected by off-center hits on drivers people? It aint the tour pros that the USGA was trying to target with the ball rollback.
  12. You guys keep making these "it's just my opinion man!" comments saying it's not based on data, even though the USGA and R&A are the ones who are trying to portray their data in such a way to support their pre-conceived bias in how the game ought to be played. Then, when people disagree with you, you say things that are based on data, like "A shorter ball won't ruin the game!" How do you know that? You're just as much in the dark as the USGA and R&A is. Once again I'm going to point out that the USGA is estimating that a certain percentage of current production balls would meet their new standards. They didn't test balls against their standards, they don't even have a list. They're just talking out of their ass like any other person on this topic sharing their "opinion" and trying dress it up as though it were factual. No, sorry, I don't believe in making policy based on opinions, especially when this policy costs people resources, effort, and money. But, since we're so adamant about sharing "opinions" here, since because sharing facts gets us nowhere, in my opinion I think rollback enthusiasts should work on their games instead of pretending targeting those of us who are better than them at golf isn't a big deal because it's not going to personally affect them that bad, if at all. Why? Because in their mind, they confess that they're terrible golfers.
  13. Yeah, it's always going to be ballistics "Golly Gee! That persimmon lost me 60 yards!" Uh yeah, because it's 4500 spin, wtf did you think was going to happen? Reminds me of that stupid Taylormade Commercial where Trottie talks about Stealth 2 Fargiveness getting 290 total yards when Scottie Scheffler is swinging like 125mph. Yeah, if you cram enough head speed to accomodate for the 1.4 smash factor on the toe, you will eventually get to 290 total. That doesn't make the club good, you just stuffed it until you got the result you wanted. Every notice how they never show you ball speed or clubhead speed? It's because they're liars by omission, not that that's ever stopped anyone before. I'd bet good money they messed with the LM settings too.
  14. We have a hole like that when it gets dried out in August it basically gives you free 350+ yard drives. Honestly, the bunker placement is kinda genius because it all funnels down there. I was a league guest at a shorter, cheaper course with clay, almost every drive plugged with 0 rollout. Some even bounced backwards a few inches where they hit the lumpy ground! Made the greens super easy though since the ball stayed where it impacted. Nobody will watch Pro golf where they get a plugged mud ball at 280 every tee shot.
  15. It's not so much loft these days, Pros tend to play offset values. The player irons they usually have are at the 7 iron around 2mm - 2.5mm in offset. These days that's gonna nab you 34 degrees of loft on a 7. They already optimize everything, for example, I made this smash factor Google Sheet for you to cross reference what your expected smash factor for your club's loft
