  1. After purchasing the Ai Smoke Max 9* driver and loving it, I bought the 3, 5 and 7 FW. The Ai technology works well for me so I bought the Ai Smoke irons and love them too. Not sure changing shafts would improve the performance of my driver much. I already have a pretty tight dispersion with the stock Tensi shaft. I can draw, fade and slice it as well. I just added a Ai smoke, 4 H hybrid and like it too. I like the height and dispersion I'm getting out of the hybrid off the fairway so I'm going to replace my 7 FW with a 3 hybrid now. The 7 wood just doesn't offer as much versatility. I would test a shaft but I wouldn't replace the one I'm using currently, just to gain a few yards, unless it out performs it in all the other categories.
  2. Yes, I have been taking lessons from Padraig Harrington. There are advantages using Youtube for golf instructions. First of all there's no cost. There are many teaching Pros so there are many different explanations and drills you can choose from to accomplish the same goal. Doing that on Youtube makes sense because some instructors relate better than others. I've paid lots of money for lessons and never had an instructor explain the grip or demonstrate it so well. With a good explanation and demonstration you will do better than having someone watch you and try to figure out what you're doing wrong.
  3. What are your misses doing ? Are they consistently Left, right, short or long? Figure that out first, that will help narrow it down.
  4. As a viewer what I see wrong with the current system is lack of pro golfer participation. When you can't interest the pros to participate in an event, how are you going to interest viewers like myself who want to watch them play? I don't care about watching LIV, I haven't and will not ever watch the LIV. Personally I don't care who the players are, I want to watch the PGA players play traditional golf, especially the top performers. The problem you have is your top performers are taking too much time away, they pick and choose. They should be required to play at least every other week. Additionally, when watching an event I want to see all of them play, not just the leaders. Using the Masters coverage as the example, they show the early and late tee times, I watch all of it. What I like best is being able to follow groups, not just the leaders. Leaders are fun to watch the final day.
  5. As your GIR percentage improves that's when you realize the real value of a putter. $600.00 right now but more if you can guarantee me one putts. That's as much as I would spend on a good driver too. What works best for me unfortunately are the milled faced putters, they aren't the cheapest but they work best for my distance control. When I miss, I want it close enough for a tap in. In my current arsenal I have a Scotty Phantom X, Ping PLD Answer 2 and Ping PLD Prime Tyne. During this time with our slower greens I prefer using my Scotty bc I'm more confident in my accuracy and distance control when pounding a ball is required.
  6. Best Purchase, of course that would be what I'm playing with right now. #1 & 2, Ai Smoke driver and 3 wood, #3, Cobra Snakebite CB wedge, #4, Ping G430 hybrid, $5, Apex Forged 21 irons. Worst Purchases, #1, Zero Restriction jacket $500.00 heavy weight knitted picking and pilling POS! #2, Sims 2 irons, #3, Cleveland CB Full Face OS wedges, #4 Stealth driver, #5, Cleveland Launcher XL FW 7 wood.
  7. https://www.callawaygolf.com/optifitinstructions/ You might also try a larger grip, a Plus 4 or a midsize will slow down your hand rotation. Regards
  8. Sounds like you're pushing the ball, are you left eye or right eye dominant? Your ball could be in the wrong position if you're right handed and left eye dominant. If that's the case open your stance more, move the ball a little forward and get your right eye looking down the line. Your grip may be the wrong size, too big and your hands do not rotate. Toe hang and standard size grip will help you close it naturally as well. Using a face balanced putter isn't going to fix a push if that's what you're doing.
  9. I prefer the MCC New Decade on everything but my putter. On the putters it's the standard Ping pistol grip and the standard Scotty pistol grip.
  10. I can only speak for the ones I've tried. Based on MGS wedge reviews, I decided to give the Cobra CB Snakebites a go seeing how we have primarily soft conditions and dormant Bermuda grass this time of year, I'm glad I did. I'm not only impressed, I'm impressing others. I've holed out for an eagle from the fairway with the 56, I'm hitting it close with both the 52 and 56 regularly. I hit the pin out of a green side bunker from 15 yards yesterday with the 52. A 52 that plays easily from the firm sand, that's amazing! The radial soles on these clubs are awesome. Our bunkers are always on the shallow and firm side so I typically play a 58 or 60 green with 8 or 10 bounce. I'm surprised how easy it is to slide the 52 under the ball. That makes longer bunker shots easier with the same swing effort for me anyway. I'm more accurate with the 52 and 56 SB CB's than any wedges I've owned and I have the SM10's and MG4's. All I can say is don't knock them until you try them, the Spy's were right with their assessment, with exception to ranking them #2 compared to the MG4's. That test was likely not done in the worst conditions, dormant soft Bermuda. The SB CB's kick ass on the MG4's and the SM10's in the conditions this time of year and I will keep the 52 and 56 in the bag in good conditions now as well. Going to adjust have the lie checked on the 60 today, it's a little too upright for my game. Considering buying the 48 now too and if they made an entire set of CB irons that looked like these I would buy them today. Accuracy is King Cobra!
  11. We are open in GA all year but the best course conditions are between April and October. Bermuda is dormant pretty much the rest of the year. We're starting to green up, it's the rainy season and the wet dormant Bermuda really challenges your patience.
  12. I always use a glove unless I'm chipping or putting and I use the same make and style of glove all the time. The game requires feel, consistency is vital so I don't mix that up, Same goes for my shoes, I want them to always feel and react the same way, I want to be the same height every time I play and practice. This may not make much of a difference but I eliminated those factors form effecting my ball striking anyway.
  13. I'm OD (out dare!) not OB. Love my Ai Smoke Max 9* @ -1, D This driver checks all of the important boxes for me, accuracy, distance and feel. Big plus, I can still see a little face on -1 giving me confidence in my aim. I'm not a fan of the black faces, especially in the shadows for that reason. Ai Smoke Max is staying in my bag until I'm good enough to play the TD. I may upgrade shafts in the future but this driver has found a permanent home in my bag. I haven't pulled or hooked a shot OB since. Same goes for the Max 3FW, I love it too! The jury is still out on the HW, I may need a heavier shaft.
