I’m in!

So, good news first. Had my best round of the season, shooting 74 from the tips to take 2nd place at the Golf Channel AmTour event. Stupid ruling cost me 2 strokes and the win. But I had a short game lesson the week prior, and it paid off. I sprayed the ball a lot, but I was getting up and down from everywhere. For the bad news, my arm starting hurting on 18 tee, and it just got worse from there. A few days and doctor’s office visits later, I found out I herniated two discs in my neck. So, my season is over. At least I went out on top (or close to the top). I’ll be back next year!

I know I’m super late to this, but have to defend SkyTrak a bit. Overall, I agree with your assessment and it’s accuracy. In my research I heard of the delay, so I got a crazy fast PC to use with it (my son is a PC gamer). We got a good video card, lots of RAM, and a solid state hard drive. After I swing, I look up to the big screen TV, and about 1-3 seconds later, the image appears. In short - it’s not SkyTrak that’s slow. It’s all up to the PC you use.

So I won my first GCAmTour event in 3 years. The official picture hasn’t been posted yet, but this is me drinking beer from the trophy. Driver wasn’t treating me well so I teed off almost every hole with the 3 iron. Kept it in play and putted well. Not a great score (81 in second flight), but good enough to win that day over 25 other players. Some jerk was upset that such a bad score won, but F him. Sore loser....

Yup. Gonna hit GVR next weekend and again on the 27th for the GCAmTour opener.

The snow stopped us from opening the year last weekend. But we have begun this weekend! Gorgeous day, about 65° today. I’m not sure if I should be happy I hit 15 GIR or missed 15 birdie putts It’s a promising start, though.

I'd be willing to bet you will improve your index AND enjoy the game just a little more. Scoring well is always fun! I liken it to the beginner who always uses rental clubs and buys his first set. Just the consistency alone will shave 2-3 strokes off your game. I think you'll miss the shiny things - until you see your scorecard. Good luck!

Forgot to mention that....you will want a very nice, fast computer. IPad will work but it can’t be old. And even then there will be a lag time after you hit to display the shot on the screen - up to 10 seconds waiting for it to render. I ended up building a custom PC dedicated to it. It will be incredibly slow if you don’t have a very good graphics card, fast hard drive and RAM.

I tried a couple different ones. Ended up with the WGT. I was not interested in the online play. 99% of the time I just use the range. Also got the mat from Skytrak too. A bit pricey at $400, but it’s been a year and it’s hikding up nicely

I finally got a driver. I’ve needed a good replacement for a long time. This thing is a beauty. I liked the heavier M3, and I’m hitting it great.

I just checked too. Looks like they have too much traffic. No offense to the decision makers, but I think using fantrax was a mistake. Maybe they'll get their stuff together next year, but they don't seem ready for production yet.

I have Sanu playing, and I was just going to let it go, but if you're offering, I'd prefer to play my intended starter.

Score-wise, I had my worst round of the season. But I had some great company. I was joined by downlowkey and PokeForeLyfe! Both are really good players, and we had a great time despite my struggles off the tee. From left to right: Tod (local friend of mine), PokeForeLyfe, HighFade, and Downlowkey I have no idea how, but this putt did not drop Yeah, these guys can play It's called Pelican Lakes (Oh, now I get it) Poke is pointing to my ball somewhere in the deep rough. again Lots of math going on here And the winner is......downlowkey. Don't spend it all in one place Thanks for a great time, fellas. We should do it again!
