G'day, So quick intro I am a Physiotherapist and TPI certified medical professional. I am just throwing it out there as I have seen a few injury-related questions that I may be able to provide some guidance for (as best as I can without doing a proper assessment).
Just want people playing golf for as long as the possibly can.
so either comment below or send me a message

Did some light work in the garage on swing technique. Finally got myself to slow down enough to just do the motions well and was really happy with how flush the contact was. Decided to take a drive over to the practice holes with just the 8 iron to see what ball flight looked like. Contact was still pretty decent, but needed a couple small tweaks. I’m only able to get to around 70% speed and still keep the sequence intact which isn’t terrible. Not scheduled to play anytime soon so really looking to take this one slow.

I’m a day late but yesterday was a long one. Joined my dad for his annual day trip to rural IL for 36 holes. He’s been doing it for 25 years and so blessed to be able to have started in it for quite a few.
Driver was significantly less squirrelly throughout the day, which was a welcome change, though the distance is down. Actually, distance is down on everything which is a little discouraging but setting that aside. Only lost one ball and one of those where everyone saw it land and thought it was good but just couldn’t find.
Struggled to find the bottom on the irons in the first round, but worked through it on the range between rounds. Really just focused on tempo. Chipping and putting was pretty strong all day. Overall, a really fun day!

I’ve not seen clubs in the store but I have seen some hitting nets, head covers, smallish training aids kind of stuff.
As an aside, if you get the timing right they do some crazy in store discounts when the seasons change over I think. Right after Christmas 2022, wife and I went in and grabbed something like 25 items for just over $100.

There’s a little 5 hole course that a park district nearby runs. Went for an hour just before sundown and nobody was there. Only took an 8i and just hit balls at one of the holes. Pretty small greens so good target practice. Straightened out some fade that was getting a little unruly.

Not from Golf Galaxy but I just bought a 54* Callaway Jaws Raw used demo from a PGA Tour Superstore. I’m super happy with it. It looked pretty good to me on inspection and I thought a wedge probably isn’t taking too bad a beating. I’d probably be a little more reluctant with a driver…

hmm, from my experience the only way to find it is on the range, it is a very personal thing, depending on a few personal factors but it can be done. Lee Trevino said "start as far back in your stance as you can and work your way forward until you find the bottom"
so start with your PW move it as far back as you can hit 5 balls and see how it feels, move it, 5 more balls and so on, and through you bag, try and "feel" where the best contact is and remember the "bottom" of each club.
One thing to remember, once you find the bottom it can move marginally depending on your physical factors of that day.

Got to get out for a round with a friend with a single digit handicap. As someone who’s never broke 90, I’ve been pretty reluctant to play with people “that good” for fear of making it unenjoyable. What I realized today is that there’s a lot of small things that he does better. Chips, pitches and putts! Learned a lot today

@Overspark07 great honest post, and something that many golfers feel when they are put in a group with better golfers.
For me, I always remember being welcomed by the premier golfers when i was learning the game and, like you, i always had something to take away from the round, still do actually. So I make an effort to try and make it comfortable for all the players in my group and treat them with respect.
As long as the players can keep up speed wise everything should be fine, I'm sure you will find some "arrogant" players that turn their noses up at playing with higher handicaps but I find them few and far between and they are weeded out from "the club" fairly quickly.
I snicker at those players as many times the higher cappers score better than they do on a given round.
I'm happy you went out and hopefully you will continue to do so.
