Golf Training Aids
hckymeyer replied to J.B. TexasEx's topic in Introduce Yourself/ WIYB (What's In Your Bag)
Quick tip for searching as it's kinda wonky some times through the site. Go to google and type in "mygolfspy ______________" insert whatever you are searching for. It will pull up forums posts and also blog articles so hits 2 birds with one stone type of thing. I usually get better results this way. -
The M1 440 w/ HZRDUS came today along with an extra adapter for the Kiyoshi. Got everything set up and heading to the sim tomorrow for a little shoot out against the SLDR. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Forgot about this one. I originally did this for cleaning the grout in our shower, but I've also used it on irons and the golf cart rims and it works fantastic. Plus it's kind of fun. https://www.todayshomeowner.com/video/homemade-scrub-brush-drill-cleaning-attachment/

My course has a club cleaning machine on the driving range. Think of a shoe shine type of rotating brush over a big bucket of water. One side for irons with a stiffer brush and one side for woods with a softer brush. I'll clean whatever clubs I use to warm up on the range there but that's about it. I still clean each club after every shot with a frogger brush and towel as needed, but I don't go beyond that. As long as the grooves are good and clean I'm all set. All you really need on the club's is soap and water. Get the grooves clean and you are good to go. Grip wise I play PURE grips and I've never done anything to them and they are still firm and tacky after 2 seasons. I did have an Iomic Absolute putter grip showing a little wear at my last fitting. My club fitter just put a little WD40 on a rag and wiped all the dirt off, then rinsed with water and damned if it wasn't as good as new. So yes I make sure all the faces of my clubs are clean before any shot, but I'm a little to zero in-between round maintenance type of guy.

Don't judge me... I have no will power
-
It's used, just took advantage of a small loop hole Plus I made it to mid-March. I'm getting better!

I may have "accidentally" purchased an M1 440 yesterday. Just couldn't stand looking at the Kiyoshi without a head on it.

Need another category...sessionable? i.e. is this a beer you could drink all night long or it is have one or two with dinner?
-
I keep having to remind myself it's still early March. If the course opens any time in March that's just bonus golf, but we've been spoiled so far this spring. I actually go to play a round outside in Feb here in MN. That's just completely unheard of. I'm hopeful that we could be golfing for the season in maybe 2 weeks or so, but we have snow and single digit lows in the forecast for the next week.

I build up with blue painters tape. +4 wraps on standard size grip for me. Then just blow on with air. Shove the nozzle in the hole in the grip and use short bursts while pushing on Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Typically a more upright lie will promote a draw or left bias. Flatter will promote fade or right bias. It's just another fitting adjustment so I would base the decision on how you are hitting it. As always with adjustments YMMV. The beautiful thing about adjustable drivers is how easy it is to play around with. Try the different settings and see what works best. Also if you blow the grip on with air then you can easily adjust it to line up once you decide on a setting.

The resolution was carefully crafted to allow certain loopholes

Haven't bought a new driver yet, so my new years resolution is still in tact. I just bought a purple Oban Kiyoshi this morning though. It's going to look lonely without a head on it...

I'm down with some Hank! Follow it up with Merle and Johnny

Quiet isn't as fun. Not being able to listen to music during golf does bother me.
-
Firmly in the music camp. Often times we have 3 or 4 carts all playing different music in one group. No big deal to me. Honest question for the guys who hate music. I understand you don't like it on the course. I do like it on the course. What makes the enjoyment of your round more important than the enjoyment of my round?

DIY Black Putter Shaft (or other colors)
hckymeyer replied to hckymeyer's topic in Club Making/Repair & DIY Projects
Unless you catch it on something sharp it's going to hold up ok. I had 10+ rounds on a previous putter with it on and no issues. The nice part is that I blow my grips on with air, so if it starts tearing or getting ratty I can just pull the grip and reapply. The stuff I bought was enough to do 3 putters so it's only a dollar or two per installation. It's on my gamer for this season so I'll get a better sense of durability once my course opens and I can get some rounds in. -
DIY Black Putter Shaft (or other colors)

I just did my ER5 so as long as it's actually 5/8" shrink tubing it should be fine. If it's not fitting maybe you were sent the wrong size?
