Maybe I can shed some light on this as I have been looking into it since Webb made his comments. The reason for the uproar to let him play is 2 fold. #1 He has played well enough to be ranked inside the top 30 should his points have counted. #2. From everything I have found this is the big one. Due to the pandemic last year, the tour froze all players spots. They felt with the pandemic and shortened season that nobody should lose their pga card. With that means no golfer would be promoted either. Had they not froze the status of players Z would have already had his card to start this season and this wouldn’t be an issue. This will be an interesting next 24hrs as there is no precedent for this with a pandemic shorten season. I have him and will likely sit on him until Wednesday night or an official ruling is offered. Obviously if he is in they would have to do 126, 71, 31 so the other guys aren’t screwed either. That said I think if he is in, then his points should count.

As @cnosil stated every golfer has a range of scores. For example I have shot -1 35 as well as +13 49 this year. Was I mad as all get out at the 49, heck yeah. It felt like I had never played the game before. Just gripping the club felt foreign to me. The key for me to help overcome the anger/frustration has been to accept that when the wheels are coming off a 49 is probably coming. Then I tell myself if i shoot 48 or less I had a decent round and recovered well. Sometimes I will even break my round up into 3-hole stretches if I’m having a really bad day. Do whatever you can to take your mind off the score.

I knew it would happen eventually. Proud owner of a new Cobra Stingray-40 putter. May pick up a stroke lab shaft for it cuz I really like the balance of those shafts. First round tomorrow morning and can wait. The face is definitely firmer than the Scotty 11.5 to me but not in a bad way. Big bonus is it fits in the MGS Mallet Cover!
