  1. Awwww she is cute!! Is she a particular breed, or a mix?
  2. I am NOT one to pass on swing tips, but... FYI and only fyi.... (Also see the thread on Golf Instruction Overload!) Recently saw a Secret Golf clip on Twitter with Steve Elkington and Pat Perez on how to hit a fade (the situation they were working on was an approach to a sloped green) .. Elk was coaching Pat and told him at the moment of impact think of your hands (*assuming you're right-handed) turning clockwise; ie. trying holding the face more open. FYI.
  3. Similar here - incremental on-course improvements over time. Practice practice practice to work on ingraining the proper movements but when it counts still have yet to convince myself to "trust it"....
  4. Yeah - I hate that... Smooth and controlled in practice, telling ourselves we're video-worthy of a "How To" segment on The Golf Channel, but then.... Nerves? Jitters? Tension? Distracted? Focusing on the "do not hit it there"? Over-thinking the value of the shot? (What do we do to ourselves when we're out on the course?????)
  5. Another thought relative to the updated MGS website .. people can indirectly donate by clicking on the ads. I know we've been soooo bombarded with ads on the web that we've become good at tuning them out, but for example I clicked on the Imperial Headwear banner and actually bought a CoolCore wide-brimmed hat (very useful piece of sun and hot weather gear!).
  6. How to (not) lie on a dog bed. How to lie on the couch.
  7. Yeah, same here except you're making me think I might have to find a real club to join... Although around here that's pretty much cost prohibitive. So I scratch around at a few different public facilities, plus my garage and on occasion my backyard. Do like the range - once in a while - and spend most of my time there with irons and hybrids.
  8. Wow .. nice! You have a great practice regimen. If it's not "worth" actual strokes - yet - I bet it translates into easy pars and birdies [emoji106]
  9. Oh oh .. did it again.... For some reason was perusing the MGS Classifieds and now I have an ER3.
  10. Totally agree with all that!! Plus I don't play competitively, only a few charity outings. I'm more interested in how I'm doing compared to myself on prior days and to the course itself; ie. vs Par - am I generally +1 over = good for me, or am I doing something stoopit on more holes today = not so good....
  11. Yeah well here we have wind hitting 50 with driving sleet.... YUCK!!!
  12. Yeah, they would be a good choice .. very drinkable and thirst-quenching!
  13. Oh oh... Don't go all Peter Blunt on us....
  14. K, it's only Monday but due to imminent blizzard plus wife's work schedule our usual date night got moved. But I did try a new brew: Stone Ripper Pale Ale. Stone has some great IPAs, but this one was on tap - and it was happy hour - so gave it a try. Some Pale Ales are good, but I usually prefer the deeper color, aroma, taste bitterness hoppiness of a good craft IPA. Well... This one passed the test! Deep color, passable aroma and bitterness, nice flavor and .. for a pale ale .. good finish. Dare I say: almost IPA-worthy. Stone has another winner [emoji106]
  15. Awesome guys! We need to copy these great stories to a "Why Pets Rule" thread
  16. Awwwwwwwwwww She looks like a very sweet pup!!
  17. Help me ... I can't stop myself..... First, from Callaway Pre-Owned... Cally Bertha Mini 1.5 14°, Kuro Kage Silver TiNi Callaway XR 4H 22°, stock Mitsubishi Fubuki Callaway MD3 54-10/S grind, black S200 Traded in 6 no longer wanted clubs so these three - along with customizations, 4 new gloves plus a return shipping label - cost me about $2.37 (not counting the original costs of the traded clubs). From Cobra's website.... King OS 5i 23°, Recoil 460 ES (very light) This is subbing in for a Ping G Crossover 5X/24° that I like but am not totally crazy about. The OS has a large face similar to the Crossover but a smaller profile front to back and I think .. didn't check it .. a little less offset also. From RockBottomGolf..... Cleveland TFI Smart Square putter 38", counter-balanced This was already on sale plus I had a code for an additional -10% so for about $70 delivered I said WTF. My putting has been waaay off so far this year, and this putter is big and ugly and fat and pretty much the opposite of what I've been playing..... Gonna use it for practice for awhile (while I work on my putting stroke and alignment) and see what happens.
  18. Ouch. But... Bad day golf 'mo bettah good work.... [emoji106]
  19. Thank you, Sir! (twice [emoji106] ) And don't worry: those are printed bandannas, *not* a cut-up flag!
  20. That is hilarious! Gotta show us a pic of her face!
  21. My wife had a Golden like that, called him her "divorce dog". Very very disastrous for her and her kids when he got sick and passed away at only 7 ^^ Oh yeah! ^^ That unconditional love thing .. and that they're always happy and they're just ALWAYS puppies at heart their whole lives....
  22. Younger step-son headed off to Marine boot camp and his (furry) "brothers" wanted to wish him well and show their support...
  23. Oh man.... You guys are killing me 'cause I feel your pain We have two big dogs, one we got as a puppy and an.older Lab we adopted; puppy is going to be 5 in May and Lab will be 9 this summer. They're both doing well, and hopefully have plenty.Of time left, but since we got each I am dreading dreading dreading that inevitable day.... My wife even.more so - she says she's going to lose her husband also. People down the street had two beautiful Huskies - an older black/grey female and a younger lighter male .. lost both (???!!!!????) over the Winter and replaced them with two new pups Anyway, OG -- Hopefully it's a minor strain or sprain. Have you also checked her paw pad? Sometimes they can get a cut or abrasion or something stuck in there. And do you give her glucosamine? I share my supplements with my boys and I've also been told that a daily baby aspirin may help with chronic (minor) pain.
  24. Great lesson! Thanks for posting / sharing. Did you know, or did your instructor tell you, that is part of Tathata training program? I've started that program myself, still in the early stages and not yet convinced if I'll stick with it all the way through, but I do think it's helping me get some "structure" and better movement into my swing. Good luck with your learning!
  25. WiveS .. plural??!!??(ouch) So you're like Lee Trevino, who famously said: "You can make a lotta money playing golf. Just ask both my ex-wives .. they're both so rich that neither of their husbands has to work!"
