I think the price tag of the ProV1 is what has affected the perception of the brand. When I first started following golf Titleist clubs were a bit more expensive than the other, but now all the big boys are just about even in price. With the preaching of getting properly fit and availability of fitting carts now I think the TS woods will do well. Titleist admitted that while the driver performed when paired with the right shaft. People want to pick something up, hit it and take it home right now!! But again with improved performance from a fitting they might be willing to wait that week for their shaft to come in now. As for irons I gamed both the AP1/AP2 and while they aren't heads and shoulders above the rest of the field in performance (tried a number of other brands on the launch monitor) they've definitely got game. I was never told the reason why but I always did it. Learning new things every day! Personally I don't put any shirts or pants with spandex or stretchy material in the dryer. Basically socks, underwear and work clothes are the only things not hung to dry. My handheld steamer (aside from my slow cooker) is the best present I've ever gotten! Retailers near me only tape the display models if you want to hit them. The past two seasons they've actually gotten proper fitting carts so you can play with the lie angle and shafts. Their demo clubs show some use so they won't bother taping them up. They also have about 800 putters around their putting green so I think they assume no one will be hit enough to show significant wear before it is bought. Personally haven't bought anything I wasn't able to hit tape less. My personal checkpoints are making a good hip turn, don't be too flat (a bad habit when I start to get tired) and keep my head from pointing down too much. I can't say much more than the fantastic points that have already been brought up by others, but if you and your coach are making progress I'd follow his plan!
