  1. Right/Left, Right/Right, Left/Left, Left/Right - meaningless if you do not know how your hands, forearms, shoulders, and upper spine work through impact, the proper size of grip, the proper taper of grip, the position of the hands on the grip, the address position you have, or ball position relative to left armpit. As someone posted, get an Edel fitting.
  2. I've sold in the corporate world for a long time. Good luck with getting transparency in the cost model. Not likely to happen often.
  3. I know the founder of CC,and I knew the predecessor owner that sold out to CC and knew him well. I understand the current business model and it has very high margins ( for a retail business). That said, turning a local operation into a nationwide chain was a huge leap of faith.
  4. What is the reason for which you are given access, escorted by member, unescorted by member, local golf association play day, outing, tournament?
  5. Those 'exotic shafts' aren't that costly at wholesale
  6. You took a few swings with wedge, driver and 7 iron, they grabbed swing speed, attack angle, face angle at address vs strike, and where you released the club. They then looked at a matrix of shafts that have been profiled and the algorithm used selected 3-4 shafts. What else is any fitter doing? They aren't doing swing training and analysis.
  7. Are you charging full retail for whatever they buy, yet not giving them the 'original' shafts so they can sell them to recover some cost? How deep is your shaft inventory, enough to do true weight sorting and flex sorting? How deep is your head inventory, enough to do weight sorting, lie sorting, and face angle sorting?
  8. I did not listen to any talking heads and am responding to the question. Nothing in this world is free, so if the fitting is 'free' then the cost is in the final purchased product. That said, most of those doing fittings and selling you a finished product, are charging you full retail price, but only providing you the head, and not the shafts you would have received in a retail buy so that you could then sell them to recover some of your outlay. I've done many builds from the top fitting companies, but I don't have their cost structure to recover, so if I build what they spec for you, you should pay them the fitting fee, and then save money by getting the build elsewhere.
  9. Drills to lock down your motion or drills for specific type of shot?
  10. I know the original owner, I know the guy who turned it into CC. I've been in the build shop many many times. They do not buy full clubs and pull the shafts. They may be the only one in the business who has the luxury of 'heads '
  11. They do not buy full clubs, but receive heads only from OEMs
  12. They only receive heads, and not full shafts from the OEM. Everett was an early adopter of SST Pure so they may have had input into the technology as it evolved, giving Nick the opportunity to buy it.
  13. Can you recall the name of thread where you posted that evaluation?
  14. All CC builds are in Willowbrook, IL, a few steps from where Everett had his second shop (the fist was in a small storefront about 1 mile away) Your Fitter will never see the inside of the build shop for any customer, it's not what they do.
  15. They buy heads only, not full clubs, from the OEMs
  16. They are 'pricey,' but realize that they have rent and utilities, the build out cost of the facility, as well as labor at each store, AND, they own all the equipment you will be using during the fitting, plus they need to generate a return for the investors and business.. Tour Spec and the rest all have similar cost issues. I think the fitting is a necessity, but also realize none of the fitters have photographic memory. They're looking to see how you load a club, transition characteristics, how you release into the ball, etc., and put quantifiable evaluations to those parameters. Having all that, they then access a shaft database that allows them to narrow the shaft world to 5-6 that will likely fit your need. That database by the way was originally started by Tom Wishon and if memory serves me well, I believe Everett Lockinvitz of EJL also had a hand in persuading shaft manufacturers so share their shaft profiles with he, Tom, and a few others. Should you use them to build the clubs they suggest? Me, Joe K, and a few others can do just as good of work.
  17. With Rifle shafts, that amount of difference was noticeable
  18. Any Cadillac DTS - golf bag, practice equipment, robokaddy, pvc tube with extra shafts for the driver and 3 wood, room for a couple of pairs of shoes, room for foul weather gear, and all of it in the trunk
