  1. Good luck to all those entering!!! Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  2. Thank you, it was a blast. The staff here put together a wonderful review format that made it easy to organize all my thoughts. I would recommend anyone interested in doing a review to apply, but if you want to do it well, be prepared to hit a lot of shots with the club/s. I had three different range sessions hitting only drivers when I was working on the range performance section. I really wanted to have five but mother nature must of thought three was plenty
  3. My apologies for being so late posting my stage 2. But it is now up, HOORAY!!! Please check it out and feel free to ask any questions. https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/23608-official-forum-member-review-cleveland-launcher-hb-drivers/ Thanks to everyone. Zylem
  4. Probably a little later to the discussion here but I'll throw my hat in. I don't care much for the US Open. I want to watch great shots and aggressive play. That's why I love watching the Ryder and Presidents cup. Those guys attack the pins and play great golf. If I wanted to see someone shoot in the 80s I'd look in a mirror lol. Some people like to see the pros struggle but I guess I am on the other side of the fence. I want to see records fall. When the mile dash record was broken they didn't change everything and make the runners run in mud. Watching the US open, I always get the feeling its a glass is half empty kind of tournament. Who can mess up the least wins. That seems to be the mindset of the players as well, based on their interviews during the tournament. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  5. Didn't even make it out of the locker room today. Hopefully I have a better story for you all after my Saturday morning game... Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  6. Curious, no one would play it out backwards or sideways? Sometimes you just should worry about getting it out of the bunkers, leave getting it close to the pros lol. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  7. Couldn't agree with you more here. On slower rounds I just make sure I am not part of the problem then try and use the extra time to my advantage. I have a few swing drills I can work on or I'll grab my putter and work on my putting stroke. I try to remember a rough day on the course beats any day in the office! 8. Quick update on my testing progress. I just got back from my vacation and it looks like the central Florida weather is going to allow me some range and play time this week. Monday morning I hit a small bucket of balls at the public range. I was actually surprised how well I was hitting the driver given that it had been a while since I last played. A few hooks here and there, but I believe those we're all my fault not the clubs. This weekend I plan to spend some time in the simulator, comparing the Cleveland driver to my M2. Based on the rounds I've played with the Cleveland I would guess that they are similar distance wise even though my M2 is an inch shorter. I really want to see the club head speed difference and ball strikes between the drivers. I'll be saving all those findings for round 2. If you all have any questions and tests you would like to see please let me know. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  9. U always root for Ricky during the majors but if I had to pick some one to bet money on it would be either DJ or Speith. Speith has been up and down a lot lately so we will see which shows up. I would not count out Poulter and DeChambeau could be a dark horse. In the end, weather always seems to be the real "winner" during the open. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  10. Are you able to break out what is giving you the most trouble shot by shot? Traditionally speaking par 4s are designed to be the technical holes. They challenge the tee ball, approach shot or both. Where as pars 3s are supposed to challenge your approach and par 5s challenge your length. Some of that has changed so I don't want to use it as a tell all, but I am curious if you would be able to narrow it down to a type of par 4 that is causing you the most trouble. 11. Sorry all for the lack of updates here. This weather in Florida has been nuts. I am hoping to be able to sneak out to the range Sunday if mother nature allows it. Only thing golf related I have been able to do the past two weeks is I bought a dozen golf balls and worked with my orange whip in the garage. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  12. Just picked up a dozen Srixon Z Star XV golf balls to try. Last round I played, I used one that I had found in the woods. Enjoyed the feel with the putter enough that I figured it may be time to switch up the ball. I may have to update my profile pic if these work out for me. While I have enjoyed the crome softs I still haven't found a ball that has wowed me like the Nike Blacks. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  13. I'm sure you will get it. I wish this rain would let up. I feel bad I haven't had much time with the driver. I was hoping to provide a mid month follow up for you all. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  14. Good luck to all, just from what I have experienced with the new driver, Cleveland is not messing around. Who ever gets the honor of this selection is in for a real treat. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  15. Awesome write up!!! Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  16. Funny you should mention this, the last scramble I played in had a no worse that par rule. I believe they worded as par was as much fun as each hole needed. [emoji1] Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  17. And why does Donald duck wear a towel after getting out of the shower if he doesn't wear pants? Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  18. When I play in these kinds of tournaments I am doing it to have fun out on the course or to help a good cause. "In a charity scramble, the best wood you can use is a pencil with an eraser on it" I may of actually heard that quote here. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  19. If I can add to what RP has said, having goals in anything is great. But focusing on a goal of breaking 70 when you haven't broken 80 could lead to burning out. I would just suggest adding some smaller goals in between. Average 2 less putts for ten rounds, or hit one more green in regulation. If you had to eat a whale, you can only do it one bite at a time. 20. Played Black Diamond once, great course. My game was all over the place that season. I don't know how this one slipped my mind. It's another course you kind of forget you're in Florida. As for World Woods, no I haven't had the chance. I was supposed there with some friends once in a tournament but it got rained out. First thought for this thread was Streamsong, but I wanted you try and show some love to a hidden gem. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  21. Victoria Hills in DeLand FL. It's an amazing course the you would swear you are playing in the foothills rather than in Florida. It's probably 30-40 minutes outside of Orlando, depending on where you are staying in Orlando. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  22. This could be a case of one bad egg ruining the dozen. Some may come off a little pushy when they are informing the golfers what the expected pace of play is but overall I have been very lucky to have had great experiences with all the starters except one. That's a story for another thread though. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  23. I think if you took any of the greats and put them in any era and they would still be great simply because they have/had "it". It being the pure athletic ability and drive. Now how many wins they would have might differ a little based on the era (Greg Norman may have a few more wins in today's era due to his amazing tee ball and the length of modern courses) I also agree with that statement said here that the average player today is better than prior eras but I think this also has to do with drive. Tiger grew up wanting to be better than Jack. Now the guys on tour grew up wanting to be better than Tiger. The greats from every era are the ones that helped shape the sport for the future eras. A real good question is who is going to step up now and help shape the future era? Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
