[What's the best deal you've ever gotten on equipment?]

I found my most recent set of gamers on eBay after searching for literally years.

 

Adams Idea MB2 (5 Plug) Raw Finish 3-PW. Minty condition, tour van blueprint build with Matrix Program 130s - $500 shipped

 

All funds were generated from purchasing 10 beat up Sun Mountain Speed Carts for $120. Gave them all a deep clean, fixed the flat tires and replaced a few parts. Sold them off for $600 so my new set of MB2s only cost $20 out of pocket.

Now THAT'S working for what you want. I have a friend that did a similar thing with headphones but it took him almost 6 months to liquidate them.

Bought a used set of KBS C-Tapers off ebay (4-pw) for $120. Came in and all 7 had bent tips so sent pictures to KBS and they sent me a brand new set. Then went back to the ebay seller and golf half my money back for selling bent shafts. So ended up with a full set of brand new KBS C-Tapers in S+ for about $60.

That's a great score for you although I'm sure it was a pain in the butt dealing with the correspondence. Good guy KBS stepping in and doing the right thing even though it wasn't their fault.

I do remember seeing that one. The intent with this thread was to focus more on wheeling and dealing or "working" for the equipment instead of "finding" the clubs.

Aside from tournament prizes, I'm interested to see what gold people have come into through wheeling and dealing or right place right time.

 

Mine is a modest one. I sold an old driver and 3 wood on eBay and had enough to buy a newer driver, 3 wood, and hybrid without dipping into my pocket. Felt like a superstar when the boxes came rolling in.

My mental visual I got while reading that story was Peter Griffin giving lifting heavy stuff advice "OK now be sure to use your lower back since that's where all your strength is. Right in a jerking twisting motion and don't use your legs."
