  1. Looking forward to seeing how your project progresses. As the season draws to a conclusion here, I need to get back on the stick and get these finished.

I also look forward to see what you cook up too. We have the same idea about price and weighting too. I'll probably going to use washers as well and maybe tape them to together with lead tape that I have. I'm also thinking about red loctite threadlocking glue on the tip screws.

  2. Hey Pat I'm attempting the same thing! I'm not using the SuperSpeed specs though, and I have a really accurate scale. I'm basing my build on my total Ping G driver weight. I'm also using real driver head adapters so that I can actually use or sell these. Here's my post if you want to take a look and comment.

  3. I'd like everyone's feedback and ideas about how to complete this project.

I ordered three driver shafts, three grips, and three adapter tips. The shafts were very cheap but good quality. They are Mitsubishi Rayon Bassara 45 x 5ct. Ladies flex. I think having the lightest shaft made the most sense and that adding weight is the easy part. The grips were cheap chamois brand. These came from rock bottom golf for $28.37. The ping adapter tips are on their way from China at $13.08. Grand total of $41.45 so far.

The concept of super speed training is that you exercise your driver swing motion with headless driver clubs that are 20% and 10% lighter then a standard driver and 5% heavier then a standard driver. I'm not concerned about the developers idea of absolute weight. I was only concerned about my drivers weight, tipping the scales at 322g. I have a good scale that's made for portability and is lab grade.

Consider this weight of my standard Ping G to a Wilson D300 which is 271g. This difference is huge. So for the standard weight SuperSpeed gives us my question immediately was ‘Compared to what?'. Total driver weight or driver head weight?

I think I'm truly going to max out my personal driver swing speed with this customizable training system given any driver I chose to game. My plan is to use as many washers needed with the screw that inserts into the driver tip. The first washer opening needs to be small and the rest just need to fit around the tip. Anyone have any ideas about the best way to add the needed weight? My initial thoughts are to target total weight and not isolate head weight.

I'll give more details about my trainer weights when they are all glued together. Right now based on raw data I need at least 193g for the lightest one and 241g on the heavier one. Keep in mind this does not include glue, tip and screw. The shaft weights were very consistent at 47g. One weighed 46g. Grips were 51g but the ends need to be cut off in order to fit the shaft.

Any feedback would be great. Good bad or ugly.

  4. Haha! I don't think wine helps, but according to ole gray it could go either way.

And please let us know how it works Gray, just give it at least two weeks I'd say. If you get a mild upset stomach just lower your dosage. It's supposed to improve your health over all due to how it can clean up your blood.

  5. I have a mild case due to playing and practicing live music for over a decade now.

But I only notice it at night or when its quiet.

Have you tried ingesting dandelion root? It helped a bit for me but again mines not too bad. You can drink it as a tea, dry the root yourself and eat it or get the extract of it at a grocery store.

    I hope this helps.

  6. And I think the Asian rice field worker hats look cool. Ultimate sun protection hands down. I'm getting one when I find a decent one. The sun in the desert is no joke.

  7. I second the Panama hat. I use one for the New Mexico sun in the summer. Got mine from target.

I can relate to the OP because I never wore hats growing up. I wear a black baseball cap for the winter.

Never liked my look in a hat but I feel more secure in both hats in my older age.

  8. I also think that Corssfield's advice is easy to digest. I like his production too. He has good beats, his mics sounds good and the part where his family is walking through the frame is cool. It's a captured with a 360 lens and reminds me of a Beastie Boys video.

Fried eggs golf is probably my favorite though. I relate to him the most.

Shiels is good for club reviews I suppose.

The me and my golf dudes remind me too much of Terrance and Phillip to take them seriously.

And here's one nobody seems to talk about: Be Better Golf. His videos with teaching pros are loaded with teaching moments and I learned the most from his videos. Can be bland but what the hell its golf.

  9. I recently picked up a Ping G driver. My heel shots are now hitting the fairway. I noticed that about this driver. The G definitely makes mishits stay in play a bit better.

And a used but mint Tour Edge exotics CP Pro 4 wood. This club is easy to hit. I'm a 25 handicap that can get good flight with this club. Made for pros but easy to game no matter where your game is.

  10. Hi MGS, I just started playing in July and I'm a +20 handicap.

After discovering, reading and even having Adam reply to my emails, I relied on MGS for gear purchases.

Based on swing speed I went with a Wilson D300 driver a few weeks ago. I really like the feel of it, way better then the 2017 Orlimar driver I was using.

After using a real club I went nuts last weekend and retooled my bag. I got a new Titleist 917 F2, and Cobra F7 3-4 hybrid. Both feel like real clubs and the F7 keeps me in the fairway.

I also helped my short game out and got a ping ketsch mid. This club shaved a couple strokes on my latest round. Solid purchase for me because I'm trying to develop a forward press on the greens. This one makes you play that way. I immediately putted better then with my 90s but in great shape with a new black ping man grip Anser2.

Didn't get fit for any of them as I went the used and new on eBay route. The titleist was legit, at least I think so, and only 150 never hit. Came with head cover and an extra draw/fade weight. Even the owners manual explaining the setup came with it.

So yeah I take data serious and I saw myself get better after one round with the new clubs. Played with a guy who works at my home course and he gave me a big tip I'll carry with me from now on. Keep a solid tempo and don't rush. 1-2
