  1. Agree that it is quite nicely done and for someone who likes a contrasting crown I can see the appeal! Honestly reminds me a lot of what Callaway has done with the crown of the OG Paradym and Ai Smoke TD. No alignment aid an matte near the face.
  2. I so far have loved the feel of the TR Blue 6X in my TSi3. Looking forward to what you find with it!
  3. Good morning my fellow spies on a less than glorious Wednesday in the re-frozen tundra of Wisconsin. In true mother nature fashion, it snowed/sleeted from 1pm on yesterday, resulting in a healthy layer of the white stuff mixed with slush and slop. Still spitting some snow today but should be stopping at some point. There goes my Friday tee time . It won't last long, though, as we are into the 60s and 70s next week in true Wisconsin fashion. However, that is going to bring some rain, which to be honest we need badly as it was a pretty dry winter by normal standards with snow. Hopefully the ground can dry out enough to try and get on the course next week, or at the very least the driving range. I have come down with some sort of head cold and feel less than stellar, but took a covid test that was negative so I can keep coming to work. Gotta love hospital protocols. Our youngest spiked a fever yesterday as well, but after a couple doses of ibuprofen before bed last night and the middle of the night, he woke up fever free and with a monster appetite. Hoping that will be it for him and he typically bounces back pretty quickly. Here's to having a good day, and we are one step closer to the weekend when it's over!
  4. Outside of golf, my main hobby would be archery. I love hunting whitetails, and during the summer I am part of a shooting league myself and another friend organized back in 2015 when we moved to Reedsburg. We shoot on Mondays and rotate between 4 different locations, with someone designated for bringing/cooking food for the group each week. It culminates in a shootout the week before bow season opens and a champ is crowned who then receives a traveling trophy to hold for the year. Other hobbies are spending time with my family at my in-laws cabin on the lake, fishing, and then our day to day activities as well. I am also getting back into the coaching realm this summer as our oldest will be in his first season of sanctioned Little League. I coached high school basketball for 5 years here in Reedsburg and loved it, but stepped away after our youngest was born. That last season was a lot for my wife to handle as he was born in the middle of the season and our oldest was two at the time. I am excited to get back into it, even if it is 7 & 8 year olds lol.
  5. Same here! Once school is out for the kids I typically hit the range on Monday and Wednesday around 11:30 or get a wild hair and try to blast through 9 if the course isn’t too busy
  6. Was just coming here to say this. I have hit a Volvik exactly once. I personally do not like the tacky feel of the matte ball at all.
  7. Good morning fellow MGS'ers from a very dreary Tuesday. Rain/sleet mix currently, and then a winter storm advisory from 1-10pm . Mother nature must have also gotten the email that my home course is set to open Friday. I had booked a 2:30 tee time, but temps continue to fall and the high is sitting at 40 Friday, plus the nasty weather today and tomorrow. With temps in the 60s next week, it is a safe bet the official start of my 2024 season will have to wait a bit. @GolfSpy_BEN glad to hear your first day at the new gig went well! @Preeway, very sorry to hear about your FIL's passing. Parkinson's is an awful disease. Sending my family's condolences to yours.
  8. Congrats to a good group here! SQAIRZ really did a great job aesthetically with the Velo. Looking forward to seeing what you think of them!
  9. Congrats testers! I don't do much walking when playing at the moment since my boys like to tag along with me, but eventually this is something I will have to look into!
  10. Shipping notifications are coming in....
  11. Good morning all and happy Monday! Full day of work ahead of me today with the new month, but the good news is that our course is opening for full time play this Friday! Hoping to be able to get out of work a bit early that day to play 9, and then wanting to try and get 18 in on Saturday if possible. Sunday afternoon we have player/parent meetings for little league and my wife has an appointment that day, so looking mostly out of the question. Either way, GOLF SEASON IS BACK BABY!
  12. I am currently playing a Scotty Super Select Newport 2 and have loved it. However, as others have stated just because it's a Scotty doesn't mean it is exponentially better than any other putter out there. It so far has really fit my putting stroke well, but that is not to say I could hand it to my buddy and he'd have the same success. If you're thinking of investing the kind of money it costs to pick one up, you may benefit from a putter fitting to make sure you get into the correct style putter for your stroke.
  13. Good luck, Sam! Have a blast out there and I will be looking forward to hearing how it goes! You've got this!
  14. Congrats on 2k @Preeway! Have enjoyed getting to know you through the forum and hope our paths cross one day in the future! Thanks for being a fantastic contributor here!
  15. Good morning fellow spies and Happy Easter! I hope you all have a wonderful day with family!
  16. Nothing beats a 6am dew sweeper for me. First one out, nothing but the sounds of nature and the club striking the ball. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. About as pure as it gets for me
  17. Easy 8 for me from 150. No need to gas up a 9 and skull it 28 yards
  18. It truly is hard to see anyone other than Scottie winning with the form he’s shown so far this year. Brooks can’t be discounted, and while I think he’s a very dark horse candidate, I’m a big Homa fan and would love to see him win. Will Zalatoris would also be cool because who doesn’t love a comeback story?
  19. For those posting goals in this thread, please continue to add them and update on your progress! Or take the route of starting your own thread so we can follow along! It looks like the original goals file was accidentally overwritten by someone, I am sorry to those who had added them to the spreadsheet. I may recreate it, I may not as it would take quite a bit of time to go back through and add everyone’s goals back in. I LOVE the individual threads, so strongly encourage that as we have a community full of people here to support and follow along!
  20. My goodness! Can’t wait for further detail on those bad boys. Now adding Haywood to the short list of next set of irons
  21. Sorry to have missed today’s call, was a crazy afternoon and am off work tomorrow so was getting all my end of month/beginning of month stuff done. Next week!
  22. My first 9 hole round last year was the most miserable time I’ve ever had on a golf course. I kid you not IF I had kept score all the way through, I’d have shot in the upper 60s. Came away exactly the same, frustrated and discouraged. “Why do I play this game?” “This isn’t even fun” etc etc. Next time out was back to normal which at the time was still high 40s/low 50s, and all was good. This is a crazy game we play, and the mental side is so massively dominant. Good on you for sticking it out! Next time out can only go better!
  23. The names on the pockets look great! Went straight logo on mine but there’s an embroidery shop in town that could add it I’m sure
