1. I actually woke up thinking about this since I'm working on my Stage 2. I'm also lacking a place to be indoors while training and it's been tricky to get workouts in. I've only had a couple of weeks where the cold has been an issue, mostly it's about the rain. According to the TVA website we have had 14 inches of rain the last two months and I've had to work around it. It can be done, but it is sometimes difficult to get motivated. This forum sometimes becomes a place for workout therapy and I'm thankful for that. The members here are definitely encouraging and help me keep going. One of the great things about this program is the fact that it's not overly time consuming. You can do most of the warm up indoors and the actual workout outdoors and only have to be outside for about 15 to 20 minutes. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
2. Week 14 and the second SuperSpeed protocol are over. I had to do something this week that I'm not overly fond of, sessions on back to back days. I did one yesterday and the other today due to a 90 percent chance of rain tomorrow. I didn't break any personal records this week, but I feel it was a really good week. My first session on Sunday was way down from normal and my Wednesday session I was cautious after waking up to a sore ankle on Tuesday. I was happy to see that I'm back to hitting over 100 mph for everything for the week. Now just to hit the range for my swing speed before writing up my stage 2. 3. I'm with the other testers on this one, your non-dominant and step swings will feel more natural the more you do them. The step swings were not too consistent as far as swing mechanics go when I started. I noticed a long pause at the top and differing lengths in my steps during the first few sessions, they're more fluid now. My top swings come from both protocols, it just depends on the day. Most of them are from the step changes because the forward portion starting the swing encourages me to be loose. Keep up the good work. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
4. The left handed swings will definitely get better, it just takes a little time to get used to them. I've actually had some days that it's been faster on that side. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
5. One of the biggest benefits to this training, to me, has been better ball striking. It's actually kind of strange considering there is no ball to hit and my swings are not always to the same spot. It's good to hear that you are having the same benefit. I haven't seen much as far as distance gains on the course, but I'm chalking that up to the cooler weather along with near record yearly rainfall here in southeast Tennessee. Most of the time it has been in the 40's and 50's when playing conditions are decent. I do see a difference in speed on the range around 2-3 mph since the end of the first protocol. 6. How are you finding the forgiveness of these compared to your M1's? Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
7. @Kegger, congrats on the gain in swing speed, that's awesome! I know your training speeds are in a lull, but the results are there. I've had very few days where I can do my training in the yard due to constant rain. I am fortunate enough to have a sidewalk that I can use, otherwise my yard would be a mud pit. The most important thing here is safety. I don't blame you for forgoing the kneeling swings and doing them standing up, no reason to cause yourself discomfort. My week got off to a down start with training, my speeds were way down today, especially left handed. Peaks and valleys are part of this and any training. I've been off work for over a week and have been pretty sedate the whole time. The wet weather hasn't helped motivate me to do much. I did go to the driving range yesterday, but the clubhouse was closed. I took five old balls out of my bag and hit them with driver. I then found another ball and hit it, as my first swing was down. My last five averaged 95 mph and my last swing peaked at 97. After a disappointing first six weeks, I feel things are looking up. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
8. It's definitely helpful in that regard. This training is great, but can have it's moments where you just have to vent. The guys here are definitely good for that, I'm just glad they don't charge by the hour. @MikeLambert that's a really cool story about the turkey and your dog. I'm glad he had a friend to sit in the sun with him. @KennyB, freezing temps and fog are definitely not conducive to training. I think it's great that you and the wife get to play together, hope it's an enjoyable day for the two of you. @02uwmadgrad, great job on recording your fastest speed yet with the red Thor hammer! 9. That's awesome MPR, I can't wait to hear all about the golf memories you and Kirke make. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
10. Thin2win, welcome aboard the SuperSpeed train! Please keep us updated on your progress. I hope the respiratory infection goes away soon. SuperSpeed isn't major cardio, but it will get the ole heart to pumping and the lungs sucking in some air. @KennyB, if I had been in a car that long and did the protocol, it probably would have looked like the first session. I don't think I could have walked, much less trained after that. I bet your Friday speeds will be way up. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
11. My week, lucky number 13, is through. I did my protocols Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. I will add that I didn't do kneeling swings today due to soreness from playing yesterday, but I did do them standing with my feet together to lessen the strain. As I started my warm-up swings today, I heard something running through the woods, looked, and saw a deer. I've been living in my house for almost five years and it's the first one I've seen. I actually had my best numbers on Tuesday, setting highs with both my heaviest and lightest clubs. My workout today was a little down, but it was still a good one. Today's numbers were 109, 104, and 100 dominant and 99, 102, and 97 non dominant. For the weekly numbers: Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
12. I see a definite improvement in ball striking since starting the SuperSpeed program. I played today since the weather was gorgeous, sunny and temps in the mid 50's. Shot a 98 at Chatata Valley, my personal best since getting my Cobra's and Arccos. I was only 4/18 hitting greens in regulation, but I hit 9/14 fairways with my driver. For some reason Arccos didn't record one hole where I missed the fairway, but I took a screenshot of my stats and it says 9/13. To anyone looking at the SuperSpeed system, it might throw your game off for a couple of rounds but I don't see any adverse effects after doing it for a while. 13. Those are some good looking speed sticks MPR, I have a feeling Kirke is going to get some major enjoyment out of them. I did my second session this evening after the Christmas festivities and hit a couple of personal bests. My fastest swing with my heaviest club hit 108 mph, bettering my previous record by 1 mph. I also set a new best with my lightest club, hitting 116 mph during my last three swings. They were 111, 111, 116. I'm going to get the opportunity to play tomorrow, after all the recent rain, it's going to be nice to be able to hit the course. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. 14. One good thing about it is that it'll get better. It's awkward - really, really, awkward at first and then it's more natural. I don't know about hitting a ball with it. I think if I could find a cheap left handed driver I might try. Glad you got a SuperSpeed set, I'm looking forward to reading about your experience with them. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
15. I'll actually be doing a protocol tomorrow since I did one yesterday, went to the range today, and am playing golf Wednesday. I don't really have to travel for Christmas, so it'll be a good time to do it. I hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
16. MPR, especially now that you're a moderator, you gotta follow the rules. [emoji2] Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
17. Now you just have to post a video of your non-dominant swing. [emoji16] Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
18. That is awesome! Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
19. I think I'm going to start adding this to my training on a couple of off days to try to groove the feeling of swinging my driver faster. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
20. Went to the driving range for the first time in three weeks. I can tell a difference on how I hit the ball since the last time. Golf is definitely a game you have to keep at to remain sharp. My drives were ballooning and my irons lost some crispness. Nearly hit a car when one went over the net. Guy next to me looked at me and said, "D *#n, that was close". My driver speed was still averaging 92. I'm hoping in two weeks I'll see the jump again. I did take a video once I got home of driver swings with no ball and averaged 93.6. The speed is there. 21. Week 12 is officially in the books. My numbers were close to or better than previous weeks, so I'd call it a pretty good week. It was highlighted by my fastest swing to date with my heaviest club, regular swing, at 106. I did have 107 as my highest for the week, but I'm really proud of that one. I'm still struggling to top 114 as my all time high, but I'm hoping since winter shutdown started today I'll see faster swings. The answer your question@Calypso55, I just try to keep it consistent. I will tweak stuff here and there to see what yields better results, but nothing extreme. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I'm probably the worst golfer here and I don't want to mess with what I do right. At least anything to do with SuperSpeed can't make my putting worse. MPR, enjoy your week off from training and I hope your hand gets to feeling better. Mike, keep up the good work and please keep us up to date on how it's going. I'm hoping that I can get out and hit some balls while I'm off. Tennessee weather is crazy and it's turning my world into a swamp. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
22. First off @KennyB , I want you to know I was nowhere near your radar, nor have I felt any malice toward it, or even had a single negative thought about it. @GolfSpyMPR, Right handed I use a baseball style grip and use an interlocking grip left handed. For some reason, I cannot interlock or overlap right handed without it feeling uncomfortable. I do occasionally get some hand pain after swinging, but it's more in the area underneath my pinkies and the side of my hand. I do attribute a lot of that to working on an automobile assembly line. It's a lot of repetitive actions throughout the day and it's a bit rough on the hands. I do a LOT of hand stretches. Day 2 is finished and I didn't see as many great speeds, but they were still really good. There was this one: That's a regular swing right handed with my heaviest club. It's only 1 mph lower than my fastest step change swing with that club. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
23. First of all, I hope you get to feeling betterRevkev. Dealing with a cold and doing the SuperSpeed training is tough. I got my first session of the week in today and already have swings over 100 with all clubs, both hands for the third week in a row. RH: 114, 113, 102 LH: 108, 104, 100 The 113 with my medium (green for me, senior set) was actually a regular swing. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
24. I agree with@Revkev about your experience being valuable to this testing. I know it's tough putting in all this work and not being able to see the payoff, but you will come spring. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
