  1. Ben, thank you for this and job exceedingly well done. You’re absolutely flying up the board.
  2. Thank you. Bonus points for playing pre selected courses and tees is a great idea. And some of these courses are not for the faint of heart. I.e. they are tough which forces you to think and play better. So well done.
  3. I wholeheartedly agree. I am so thankful that you have allowed the Simulator option over the winter months. When the outdoor season closed, I moved indoors to work on my game and play scenic and challenging courses. Now I have added motivation to be able to continue to participate in MGS VCT. Thank you for this opportunity. It is greatly appreciated.
  4. Excellent article and makes all kinds of sense. Most of the major manufacturers now release iron sets that can be specifically played in combination with respect to looks, loft, ball flight and gapping. A good fitter can help you select the best combination for your game and where the crossover should be. E.g. 6, 7 or 8 iron, etc. I have looked at various combination sets on my last two iron sets. My next set of irons will definitely be a combo set. Now, I just have to find a set to knock my Mizuno’s out of the bag. The Titleist T150/T200’s came close. Will it be another set of Mizuno’s. Only the data and my fitter know for sure.
  5. Now that sounds very cool and the perfect start to a snowy January. Well at least in Canada it is.
  6. IMG_0507.mov One of my girls, Hazel wishing all you spies a good morning and may yoooooou have a great day. Or maybe she wants her food.
  7. Not surprised. You’ve had very good results with this ball and your excellent review attested to that. Proof is that it’s going in the bag.
  8. Lol, aka plan B. Honey, we have to go to Charleston and the Carolinas for a little golf holiday.
  9. Given the great reviews and comments, I had to order them and try them. However, not the first time I’ve come across this and usually the shipping charges exceed the cost of the balls. But I had to try.
  10. Outstanding review and pictures. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Well done.
  11. Superb review and pictures. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Well done. With all the great reviews, the only sad part is that Odin doesn’t ship the ball to Canada.
  12. Outstanding review and pictures. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Well done.
  13. Thank you for the insight and clarification. This is helpful information to know.
  14. Thanks for the clarification and sorry for the confusion. It’s the science/healthcare side of me coming through. In testing/clinical trials there always is a control or comparator group where a lot of thought is given to the methodology and how to test properly. Fitted clubs to unfitted test clubs is not a good comparator. My apologies and sorry for the confusion.
  15. Very wise and helpful words of wisdom from Jamie and Ben. I would also add, give thought on how you are going to test, what will the control or comparator group be, what will be your methodology and is it measureable. If you see a difference, is it significant and will it be noticeable on the course. So give some thought to the process before you apply.
  16. Ideally, get fit for your wedges. They’re your scoring clubs so distance control, spin, etc matter. For most a set PW and GW will work if you tend to use them for full shot only. Pay attention to proper gapping between your clubs to allow for 10-15 yards between clubs. Ask yourself are you steep or shallow on your delivery, do you pick the ball clean with little to no divot or do you take large divots. Do you typically play in soft or hard turf conditions. This will help guide you with respect to bounce and grind options for your wedges. Vokey’s are popular for a reason in that you can select from many different grind and bounce options. The problem is which bounce and grind option work best for you and your game. Ideally, you may want one with lower bounce and one with higher bounce to allow you to play a variety of shots around/near the green. The most common wedge setups are either 50*/54*/58* or 52*/56*/60*. Once you’ve sorted that out, then pay attention to shaft and grip. A fitter then should be able to adjust the lie and loft to further dial them in. There are many good wedges available, so getting fit for clubs is most helpful to ensure that you get clubs that work best for you. So straight forward question, but complicated answer. See the links below from MGS, wedge fitting 101 and Ping to help guide you. Hope this helps. https://mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/wedge-fitting-101-where-to-start/ https://ping.com/en-us/fitting/our-process/wedge-fitting
