  1.
... I think I may have solved my gapping issues. Adding a 4th wedge from my T100-S set meant the top end of my bag needed changes. Here is my set up:

    Putter
    Wedges: 58-52-48-44
    Irons: 9-8-7-6-5-4
    19* Hybrid
    17* DI
    15.5 Fairway wood
    10.5 Driver

... That is 15 clubs so I had to drop the 4 iron, Hybrid or the DI depending on the course and the wind. Bummer because I really like all those clubs. That said, the addition of a Callaway Super Hybrid meant I could drop my fairway wood and it can take the place of my Hybrid out of light rough. I am picking up a 19* DHy that will replace my DI off the tee as well as my Hybrid from the fairway. If it works out as well as I think it will, my gapping issues will be solved. I also installed Steelfiber 95 R Flex shafts that really play between R and S in my T100-S and so far I have really liked the results. They do not have that dense/muted feel of the Kuro Kage Tini 105 S Flex shafts but the flight and spin are a little better for me and performance is excellent.

... How are your T100-S working out so far?

Two years ago I was gaming the AP2s. Switched to Mizuno JPX919 tours bc nothing feels like a mizuno. Two months ago I switched to the T100s and can’t believe how much better these feel and I went up a club and a half in distance compared to the mizunos. I think these are some of the most underrated irons out there.

  2. That’s good to hear! I think I might have played the last round with my 620 CBs haha. I’m gonna make the switch to t100s. I just want a little more carry distance. 83 is not a bad final round with the CBs hahaha. Did you go with the standard wedge set up as well? I’m curious how others play their wedge set up.

I’ve been playing 50, 56 and 60 degree vokeys. The 48 was a bit interesting so I’m not sure how I’m going to utilize it in regards to gapping. I could always buy new wedges to gap them out properly.....?

  3. Played my first round with the T100S today and shot 77. I’m able to shape my shots better and easier than any irons I’ve ever played. I would say that I’ve gained a clubs worth in distance coming from JPX919 Tours. It will take some time figuring out my new yardage on each club. I love the trajectory and feel of these. I haven’t had any fliers and agree that with the thin soles help move through the grass smoothly especially in the rough. TXG made a comment about these possibly being fade biased. It’s too early to say but I did notice a couple unusual high cuts today and the par 3s. Overall I’m enjoying these so far.

  4. A lot of players at my club went with the SIM Max D. Not really surprised as it popped up on tour for a few players. Definitely not as draw biased as people think

I noticed DJ has been going back and forth between SIM and SIM Max

  5. If you are coming to Wisconsin for the Kohler courses check out Sand Valley and Mammoth Dunes in Central Wisconsin - developed by Bandon Dunes' Mike Kaiser.  If you have a little extra time almost across the street from Sand Valley is Lake Arrowhead's 2 courses, Lakes original and Pines.  Not nearly the cache of the other names but very nice.   Then head down to Erin Hills.  There are some other gems, but that would be a pretty good week. Fly into MKE and drive to Kohler for Whistling, Irish, River and Meadows (stay at the American Club) and then SV and MD (stay on-site) and then Erin and fly back.
    Enjoy.

Awesome. Thank you for the advice. The plan is to drive to Chicago and drop the wife and kids off with relatives then hit the links. LOL

  6. Currently using a TS3 driver that was fit at Club Champion in December 2018.  After a better showing in 2019 than my previous M2, it has been awful so far this year and I am having trouble keeping it in play.

I was using the TS3 all last year but spin numbers were higher than I wanted. I’m currently waiting for my SIM with Ventus Blue w/ Velocore.

  7. Not sure how much this will help, but I was able to try the SIM over the weekend.  Granted the shaft was not fit exactly to me, but spin really was higher than optimal compared to some others.  Usually with Taylormade, they are too low spinning for me - or at least the M5 was that way.  This made it a fairly forgiving club minus one or two very bad swings, but I was not getting the distance that I would be looking for.
Swing speed was about the same as others the the Science in Motion didn't change much for me.   To help with numbers, I was hitting on trackman and around 111 - 115 swing speed.  Others were 260 - 270 carry on average, but SIM was more like 250 and 275 - 280 distance while others were 285 - 300.

    What are you currently using?

  8. So here’s the report, Sim max is very straight but I was hitting it to high even with dialed down loft on the course, was making some good swings too. Putting the head up for sale If anybody is interested.

Thanks for the feedback. What shaft did you use and would you consider trying the SIM?

  9. I was fitted for TS3 but I did not like the Tensei AV Blue shaft that came stock with it. It was too light and felt too whippy. I later put in a Diamana Whiteboard 70 which made it feel better. I felt I could attack the ball vs the Tensei. I have played with the M5 and can honestly say Twist Face is the real deal. I traded in my TS3 and waiting for a SIM Max w/ Ventus Velocore now. Been waiting over two months tho bc of quarantine. Smh.....

  10. Mizuno JPX 919 Tour with Project X LZ graphite shafts. Never thought I’d play graphite in irons but I like the feel.
