  1. I just went for a fitting last week. I wish I would've seen the amount of delays everyone is experiencing prior to purchasing my set. Is anyone familiar with the wait times for these brands? Cobra- Mizuno- Nippon- Oban- I was told 4-6 weeks which I accepted but, if you all are seeing further out then that I might go elsewhere to procure my gear.
  2. If it isn't broken don't fix it! But if you can gain distance, walk away.
  3. Roger Dunn does club fitting, might have to travel a little to get there.
  4. I really hope not, this will be upsetting. Has anyone heard anything about the below manufacturers? Mizuno JPX 921 Hot Metal Pro w/ Nippon Modus Tour 120 Shaft Cobra Speed Zone 3w w/ Oban Isawa 70 Shaft
  5. Great, I just placed an order through Club Champion on Saturday 10/17. I really hope I don't experience the same delays.
  6. I think this is a wise decision. Getting a second opinion and getting into what you like seems reasonable. What type of combo set are you trying to get into? Forgiveness at the top?
  7. After the coin you put up to get fitted and built it’s the least they can do. When you do go down I’d like to hear what they say. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  8. Oh wow! I think I'd bring my entire bag down at that point. 3 out of 7 irons were defective... something has to be wrong with the epoxy.
  9. The only perks I think I would use is the bay sessions and loft/ lie adjustments. This to me is still a nice gesture and I'm sure will bring many people back, like myself.
  10. I received an email yesterday from CC stating that since I have paid for a fitting I will receive the following perks: Discounted or free next fitting (excluding full bag) 3 free 1 hour bay sessions (must be used in a year) free grip installation (grips have to be bought at CC) Free loft and lie adjustments receive discounts on balls purchased in store This seems pretty comparable to TruSpec.
  11. I would like to know this information as well. The science of club fitting has me completely nerding out!
  12. I could agree that a professional may know exactly what feels right to them. For the average amateur I think their is great reward for getting fit. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. My intention is to see how many are paying for putters that are not designed for their swing type. I have the same stroke path as you, out to in with a slight arc. However, at point of impact my clubface is open at 0.1 degrees. So in my case I was fit for either a blade or mallet with a slight toe hang. I'm sure the "feel" guys will feel a lot happier when they sink more putts.
  14. Were you fit for every club in a set or just able to hit all of the clubs in the set?
  15. I like my odds that I will be able to strike the fitted clubs better than a non fitted off the shelf set. I'm not familiar with a place that fits you for all of the clubs in a bag, if there are shesh they must have a ton of space or very limited options. I do think this will partially fall on the golfer in a sense. If you go into a fitting knowing you struggle getting a 3,4,5 iron off the deck or control issues, SAY IT! The fitter then will have some other options to put you into, a more forgiving iron, hybrid, etc. At some point the equipment will always be limited at helping the golfer... It isn't the clubs fault we're a bunch of hacks
  16. Looking at the data so far it appears that most people are a slight arch but not fitted. This interests me, how many really are slight arch and not a SBST or even a cut? This would be a great study. Take 10-100 of the people that vote that they're a slight arch and not fitted. Get them fit for a putter to see how accurate their perception of their stroke is. GO GET FIT FOR YOUR PUTTERS!
  17. When I replied I misunderstood his statement. CC only uses a 6 iron for testing, they have a modular connector for all of their shafts/ heads. Hitting all of the irons in the set is not an option at most places. CC does offer a 90 day guarantee on their product. This will be the time to go out and verify if the clubs you were fit for are what you are wanting.
  18. This is completely understandable. They have a 90 day guarantee if you don’t see the results you were expecting. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. Fitting Recap: Overall I am happy with how everything turned out. I went in for a full bag fitting however, I only replaced my 3 wood and irons. We started off by hitting my 6 iron, Callaway Rogue X. I was hitting the ball 195 yards with 30 yards of dispersion. After hitting the ball 4 or 5 times to get my baseline, we started to try different shafts. I tested roughly 5 different shafts I ended up being fit for the Nippon Modus Tour 120 S Flex. Then we moved into club heads. I hit 5 different heads from an assortment of brands. I ended up getting the Mizuno JPX Hot Metal Pro. With the 5 shots hit I had 205 yards with 6 yards of dispersion (WOW!!). After this took place we moved into the driver. I hit my driver 5 times and the fitter explained that I'm not going to see much more improvement by changing a shaft or head. We still hit a few different brands but decided that the gains weren't worth the cost. 2 yards of distance with roughly the same dispersion wasn't enough to for me to pony up the bucks. 3 Wood fitting was really quick. Hit my 3w 5 times and determined I needed something more forgiving. I ended up with the Cobra Speed Zone in the Oban Isawa Red 75 Stiff. I was able to see a tighter dispersion of 30 yards and a distance of 245 yards. I'm happy with the results. Hybrid I didn't want to move away from. I'm currently playing the Callaway Rogue and it's my favorite club in my bag. I still hit it so the fitter was reassured, 235 yards, 20 yards of dispersion. Putter fitting was very simple but informative. I hit 7 putts with the SAM, I ended up getting a loft and lie adjustment but keeping my putter. I was blown away by the results in this. I was adjusted to 1* of loft and 69* of lie. I was striking the ball in almost the same exact spot on the putter and my face angle at impact was 0.1*. After the adjustment I did notice the ball was rolling a lot faster! I would highly recommend Club Champion to any of my friends and also you. Once my new clubs come in I will be doing a full in detail WITB with photos. Let me know if there is anything you would like to know further. Keep hammering!
  20. Hey all, I wanted to give everyone an update. This weekend 10/17, I will be going to Club Champion in Atlanta for my club fitting. After doing several days of research I feel like they have the best technology with the most potential to help me continue to improve my game. I'm going to get fit for a full bag. I will provide details once completed. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!
  21. Perfect! I will jump over to your thread and see some of the feedback.
