You can buy a pretty cheap, but decent mat however most are thing meaning it would be good to have some foam underneath for added padding. It can be a cheaper alternative to getting thicker mats. I have a really decent 3 piece outdoor mat about 2'x3' with 3 different types of surfaces on it. I paid $15 for at academy sports. Thing to remember about hitting mats. How it causes physical harm to your body, as most cheap mats don't have give like real grass, so can cause pain arms ect and or cause more issues. Also damage to your clubs!!! Be safe A public service announcement! I used Amazon for research, then went directly to the company who sold it! I got the same price , shipping ect. But I also got great customer support. I'm on my 3rd hitting net ( all free) as they were damaged by either shipping and or hitting. Also got credit for doing reviews for them and was able to get other items from the for really cheap ( ball holder for around $40 ) .
