Irons also have the same. Again things are based on optimizing the ball fight for a golfer for a club type and I might need a 10 degree driver and you might need a 8 degree driver to do so. This is 100 percent correct. This is my point. This would be evaluation based on an "individual" golfers needs, and swings with clubs, compared to each other(not some arbitrary 7 iron number), and THIS does vary exponentially from golfer to golfer. To suggest(on his part, not yours) that ANY golfer should use as a basis for questioning the "mechanics of ones own swing" (as some early on in this post seemed to do) how "FAR" and at what launch angle they hit a 7 iron, when the club they are actually using may be 4 degrees more lofted is inaccurate. Ultimately this person who believes he doesn't hit his 7 iron far enough, will buy new clubs, and he may even base them on this new club labeled as a 7 iron. But if this new club he calls a 7 iron is less lofted than the one he based his not hitting a 7 iron far enough on, then he is in fact now hitting the 6 iron out of his old set. And he has as a point of fact perceived a need based on a single, misapplied, and inaccurately calculated point of mathmatics.
